제 14 장
내가 곧 길이요 진리요 생명이니
1 너희는 마음에 근심하지 말라 하나님을 믿으니 또 나를 믿으라
2 내 아버지 집에 거할 곳이 많도다 그렇지 않으면 너희에게 일렀으리라 내가 너희를 위하여 거처를 예비하러 가노니
3 가서 너희를 위하여 거처를 예비하면 내가 다시 와서 너희를 내게로 영접하여 나 있는 곳에 너희도 있게 하리라
4 내가 어디로 가는지 그 길을 너희가 아느니라
5 도마가 이르되 주여 주께서 어디로 가시는지 우리가 알지 못하거늘 그 길을 어찌 알겠사옵나이까
6 예수께서 이르시되 내가 곧 길이요 진리요 생명이니 나로 말미암지 않고는 아버지께로 올 자가 없느니라
7 너희가 나를 알았더라면 내 아버지도 알았으리로다 이제부터는 너희가 그를 알았고 또 보았느니라
8 빌립이 이르되 주여 아버지를 우리에게 보여 주옵소서 그리하면 족하겠나이다
9 예수께서 이르시되 빌립아 내가 이렇게 오래 너희와 함께 있으되 네가 나를 알지 못하느냐 나를 본 자는 아버지를 보았거늘 어찌하여 아버지를 보이라 하느냐
10 내가 아버지 안에 거하고 아버지는 내 안에 계신 것을 네가 믿지 아니하느냐 내가 너희에게 이르는 말은 스스로 하는 것이 아니라 아버지께서 내 안에 계셔서 그의 일을 하시는 것이라
11 내가 아버지 안에 거하고 아버지께서 내 안에 계심을 믿으라 그렇지 못하겠거든 행하는 그 일로 말미암아 나를 믿으라
12 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 나를 믿는 자는 내가 하는 일을 그도 할 것이요 또한 그보다 큰 일도 하리니 이는 내가 아버지께로 감이라
13 너희가 내 이름으로 무엇을 구하든지 내가 행하리니 이는 아버지로 하여금 아들로 말미암아 영광을 받으시게 하려 함이라
14 내 이름으로 무엇이든지 내게 구하면 내가 행하리라
15 너희가 나를 사랑하면 나의 계명을 지키리라
16 내가 아버지께 구하겠으니 그가 또 다른 보혜사를 너희에게 주사 영원토록 너희와 함께 있게 하리니
17 그는 진리의 영이라 세상은 능히 그를 받지 못하나니 이는 그를 보지도 못하고 알지도 못함이라 그러나 너희는 그를 아나니 그는 너희와 함께 거하심이요 또 너희 속에 계시겠음이라
18 내가 너희를 고아와 같이 버려두지 아니하고 너희에게로 오리라
19 조금 있으면 세상은 다시 나를 보지 못할 것이로되 너희는 나를 보리니 이는 내가 살아 있고 너희도 살아 있겠음이라
20 그 날에는 내가 아버지 안에, 너희가 내 안에, 내가 너희 안에 있는 것을 너희가 알리라
21 나의 계명을 지키는 자라야 나를 사랑하는 자니 나를 사랑하는 자는 내 아버지께 사랑을 받을 것이요 나도 그를 사랑하여 그에게 나를 나타내리라
22 가룟인 아닌 유다가 이르되 주여 어찌하여 자기를 우리에게는 나타내시고 세상에는 아니하려 하시나이까
23 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 사람이 나를 사랑하면 내 말을 지키리니 내 아버지께서 그를 사랑하실 것이요 우리가 그에게 가서 거처를 그와 함께 하리라
24 나를 사랑하지 아니하는 자는 내 말을 지키지 아니하나니 너희가 듣는 말은 내 말이 아니요 나를 보내신 아버지의 말씀이니라
보혜사
25 내가 아직 너희와 함께 있어서 이 말을 너희에게 하였거니와
26 보혜사 곧 아버지께서 내 이름으로 보내실 성령 그가 너희에게 모든 것을 가르치고 내가 너희에게 말한 모든 것을 생각나게 하리라
27 평안을 너희에게 끼치노니 곧 나의 평안을 너희에게 주노라 내가 너희에게 주는 것은 세상이 주는 것과 같지 아니하니라 너희는 마음에 근심하지도 말고 두려워하지도 말라
28 내가 갔다가 너희에게로 온다 하는 말을 너희가 들었나니 나를 사랑하였더라면 내가 아버지께로 감을 기뻐하였으리라 아버지는 나보다 크심이라
29 이제 일이 일어나기 전에 너희에게 말한 것은 일이 일어날 때에 너희로 믿게 하려 함이라
30 이 후에는 내가 너희와 말을 많이 하지 아니하리니 이 세상의 임금이 오겠음이라 그러나 그는 내게 관계할 것이 없으니
31 오직 내가 아버지를 사랑하는 것과 아버지께서 명하신 대로 행하는 것을 세상이 알게 하려 함이로라 일어나라 여기를 떠나자 하시니라
CAPÍTULO 14
Jesús habla de muchas moradas — Dice que Él es el camino, la verdad y la vida, y que verle a Él es ver al Padre — Promete el primer y el segundo Consolador.
1 No se turbe vuestro corazón; creéis en Dios, creed también en mí.
2 En la casa de mi Padre muchas moradas hay; de otra manera, yo os lo hubiera dicho; voy, pues, a preparar lugar para vosotros.
3 Y si me voy y os preparo lugar, vendré otra vez y os tomaré a mí mismo, para que donde yo esté, vosotros también estéis.
4 Y sabéis a dónde yo voy, y sabéis el camino.
5 Le dijo Tomás: Señor, no sabemos a dónde vas; ¿cómo, pues, podemos saber el camino?
6 Jesús le dijo: Yo soy el camino, y la verdad y la vida; nadie viene al Padre sino por mí.
7 Si me conocierais, también a mi Padre conoceríais; y desde ahora le conocéis y le habéis visto.
8 Felipe le dijo: Señor, muéstranos al Padre, y nos basta.
9 Jesús le dijo: ¿Tanto tiempo hace que estoy con vosotros, y no me has conocido, Felipe? El que me ha visto a mí, ha visto al Padre; ¿cómo, pues, dices tú: Muéstranos al Padre?
10 ¿No crees que yo soy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí? Las palabras que yo os hablo, no las hablo por mí mismo, sino que el Padre que mora en mí, él hace las obras.
11 Creedme que yo soy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí; de otra manera, creedme por las mismas obras.
12 De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que en mí cree, las obras que yo hago él también las hará; y aun mayores que estas hará, porque yo voy al Padre.
13 Y todo lo que pidiereis al Padre en mi nombre, esto haré, para que el Padre sea glorificado en el Hijo.
14 Si algo pidiereis en mi nombre, yo lo haré.
15 Si me amáis, guardad mis mandamientos.
16 Y yo rogaré al Padre, y os dará otro Consolador, para que esté con vosotros para siempre:
17 El Espíritu de verdad, al que el mundo no puede recibir, porque no le ve ni le conoce; pero vosotros le conocéis, porque mora con vosotros y estará en vosotros.
18 No os dejaré huérfanos; vendré a vosotros.
19 Todavía un poquito, y el mundo no me verá más; pero vosotros me veréis; porque yo vivo, vosotros también viviréis.
20 En aquel día vosotros conoceréis que yo estoy en mi Padre, y vosotros en mí, y yo en vosotros.
21 El que tiene mis mandamientos y los guarda, ese es el que me ama; y el que me ama, será amado por mi Padre, y yo le amaré y me manifestaré a él.
22 Le dijo Judas, no el Iscariote: Señor, ¿cómo es que te vas a manifestar a nosotros y no al mundo?
23 Respondió Jesús y le dijo: El que me ama, mi palabra guardará; y mi Padre le amará, y vendremos a él y haremos morada con él.
24 El que no me ama, no guarda mis palabras; y la palabra que habéis oído no es mía, sino del Padre que me envió.
25 Estas cosas os he hablado estando con vosotros.
26 Mas el Consolador, el Espíritu Santo, a quien el Padre enviará en mi nombre, él os enseñará todas las cosas, y os recordará todo lo que os he dicho.
27 La paz os dejo, mi paz os doy; yo no os la doy como el mundo la da. No se turbe vuestro corazón ni tenga miedo.
28 Habéis oído que yo os he dicho: Voy, y vuelvo a vosotros. Si me amarais, ciertamente os regocijaríais, porque he dicho que voy al Padre, porque el Padre mayor es que yo.
29 Y ahora os lo he dicho antes que suceda, para que, cuando suceda, creáis.
30 No hablaré ya mucho con vosotros, porque viene el príncipe de este mundo, y él no tiene nada en mí.
31 Pero para que conozca el mundo que amo al Padre, y como el Padre me dio el mandamiento, así hago. ¡Levantaos, vámonos de aquí!
CHAPTER 14
Jesus speaks of many mansions—He says that He is the way, the truth, and the life and that to see Him is to see the Father—He promises the first and second Comforters.
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 ¶ If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
