제 5 장
1 그리스도께서 우리를 자유롭게 하려고 자유를 주셨으니 그러므로 굳건하게 서서 다시는 종의 멍에를 메지 말라
그리스도인의 자유와 사랑
2 보라 나 바울은 너희에게 말하노니 너희가 만일 할례를 받으면 그리스도께서 너희에게 아무 유익이 없으리라
3 내가 할례를 받는 각 사람에게 다시 증언하노니 그는 율법 전체를 행할 의무를 가진 자라
4 율법 안에서 의롭다 함을 얻으려 하는 너희는 그리스도에게서 끊어지고 은혜에서 떨어진 자로다
5 우리가 성령으로 믿음을 따라 의의 소망을 기다리노니
6 그리스도 예수 안에서는 할례나 무할례나 효력이 없으되 사랑으로써 역사하는 믿음뿐이니라
7 너희가 달음질을 잘 하더니 누가 너희를 막아 진리를 순종하지 못하게 하더냐
8 그 권면은 너희를 부르신 이에게서 난 것이 아니니라
9 적은 누룩이 온 덩이에 퍼지느니라
10 나는 너희가 아무 다른 마음을 품지 아니할 줄을 주 안에서 확신하노라 그러나 너희를 요동하게 하는 자는 누구든지 심판을 받으리라
11 형제들아 내가 지금까지 할례를 전한다면 어찌하여 지금까지 박해를 받으리요 그리하였으면 십자가의 걸림돌이 제거되었으리니
12 너희를 어지럽게 하는 자들은 스스로 베어 버리기를 원하노라
13 형제들아 너희가 자유를 위하여 부르심을 입었으나 그러나 그 자유로 육체의 기회를 삼지 말고 오직 사랑으로 서로 종 노릇 하라
14 온 율법은 네 이웃 사랑하기를 네 자신 같이 하라 하신 한 말씀에서 이루어졌나니
15 만일 서로 물고 먹으면 피차 멸망할까 조심하라
육체의 일과 성령의 열매
16 내가 이르노니 너희는 성령을 따라 행하라 그리하면 육체의 욕심을 이루지 아니하리라
17 육체의 소욕은 성령을 거스르고 성령은 육체를 거스르나니 이 둘이 서로 대적함으로 너희가 원하는 것을 하지 못하게 하려 함이니라
18 너희가 만일 성령의 인도하시는 바가 되면 율법 아래에 있지 아니하리라
19 육체의 일은 분명하니 곧 음행과 더러운 것과 호색과
20 우상 숭배와 주술과 원수 맺는 것과 분쟁과 시기와 분냄과 당 짓는 것과 분열함과 이단과
21 투기와 술 취함과 방탕함과 또 그와 같은 것들이라 전에 너희에게 경계한 것 같이 경계하노니 이런 일을 하는 자들은 하나님의 나라를 유업으로 받지 못할 것이요
22 오직 성령의 열매는 사랑과 희락과 화평과 오래 참음과 자비와 양선과 충성과
23 온유와 절제니 이같은 것을 금지할 법이 없느니라
24 그리스도 예수의 사람들은 육체와 함께 그 정욕과 탐심을 십자가에 못 박았느니라
25 만일 우리가 성령으로 살면 또한 성령으로 행할지니
26 헛된 영광을 구하여 서로 노엽게 하거나 서로 투기하지 말지니라
Capítulo 5
Permaneced firmes en la libertad del Evangelio — Buscad la fe, el amor y también a Cristo y al Espíritu — Se nombran las obras de la carne y los frutos del Espíritu.
1 Permaneced, pues, firmes en la libertad con que Cristo nos hizo libres, y no volváis otra vez a ser presos en el yugo de esclavitud.
2 He aquí, yo, Pablo, os digo que si os circuncidáis, de nada os aprovechará Cristo.
3 Y otra vez vuelvo a testificar a todo hombre que se circuncida, que está obligado a cumplir toda la ley.
4 Separados sois de Cristo los que por la ley os justificáis; de la gracia habéis caído.
5 Porque nosotros, por el Espíritu, aguardamos por la fe la esperanza de la justicia.
6 Porque en Cristo Jesús ni la circuncisión vale algo, ni la incircuncisión, sino la fe que obra por el amor.
7 Vosotros corríais bien; ¿quién os estorbó para no obedecer la verdad?
8 Esta persuasión no proviene de aquel que os llama.
9 Un poco de levadura leuda toda la masa.
10 Yo confío con respecto a vosotros, en el Señor, que no pensaréis de ninguna otra manera; pero el que os perturba cargará con la sentencia, quienquiera que sea.
11 En cuanto a mí, hermanos, si aún predico la circuncisión, ¿por qué padezco persecución todavía? En tal caso, se habría quitado el escándalo de la cruz.
12 Ojalá se mutilasen los que os perturban.
13 Porque vosotros, hermanos, a libertad habéis sido llamados; solamente que no uséis la libertad como ocasión para la carne, sino servíos por amor los unos a los otros.
14 Porque toda la ley en esta sola palabra se cumple: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.
15 Pero si os mordéis y os devoráis los unos a los otros, mirad que tampoco os destruyáis los unos a los otros.
16 Digo pues: Andad en el Espíritu, y no satisfagáis los deseos de la carne.
17 Porque el deseo de la carne es contra el Espíritu, y el del Espíritu es contra la carne; y estos se oponen entre sí, para que no hagáis lo que quisierais.
18 Pero si sois guiados por el Espíritu, no estáis bajo la ley.
19 Y manifiestas son las obras de la carne, que son: adulterio, fornicación, inmundicia, lascivia,
20 idolatría, hechicerías, enemistades, pleitos, celos, iras, contiendas, disensiones, herejías,
21 envidias, homicidios, borracheras, orgías y cosas semejantes a estas, de las cuales os advierto, como ya os lo he dicho, que los que hacen tales cosas no heredarán el reino de Dios.
22 Pero el fruto del Espíritu es: amor, gozo, paz, longanimidad, benignidad, bondad, fe,
23 mansedumbre, templanza; contra tales cosas no hay ley.
24 Porque los que son de Cristo han crucificado la carne con sus pasiones y concupiscencias.
25 Si vivimos por el Espíritu, andemos también por el Espíritu.
26 No busquemos la vanagloria, irritándonos los unos a los otros, envidiándonos los unos a los otros.
Chapter 5
Stand fast in gospel liberty—Seek faith, love, Christ, and the Spirit—The works of the flesh and the fruits of the Spirit are named.
1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
