제 8 장

에스라와 함께 돌아온 백성들

1   아닥사스다 왕이 왕위에 있을 때에 나와 함께 바벨론에서 올라온 족장들과 그들의 계보는 이러하니라

2   비느하스 자손 중에서는 게르솜이요 이다말 자손 중에서는 다니엘이요 다윗 자손 중에서는 핫두스요

3   스가냐 자손 곧 바로스 자손 중에서는 스가랴니 그와 함께 족보에 기록된 남자가 백오십 명이요

4   바핫모압 자손 중에서는 스라히야의 아들 엘여호에내니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 이백 명이요

5   스가냐 자손 중에서는 야하시엘의 아들이니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 삼백 명이요

6   아딘 자손 중에서는 요나단의 아들 에벳이니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 오십 명이요

7   엘람 자손 중에서는 아달리야의 아들 여사야니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 칠십 명이요

8   스바댜 자손 중에서는 미가엘의 아들 스바댜니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 팔십 명이요

9   요압 자손 중에서는 여히엘의 아들 오바댜니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 이백십팔 명이요

10   슬로밋 자손 중에서는 요시뱌의 아들이니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 백육십 명이요

11   베배 자손 중에서는 베배의 아들 스가랴니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 이십팔 명이요

12   아스갓 자손 중에서는 학가단의 아들 요하난이니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 백십 명이요

13   아도니감 자손 중에 나중된 자의 이름은 엘리벨렛과 여우엘과 스마야니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 육십 명이요

14   비그왜 자손 중에서는 우대와 사붓이니 그와 함께 있는 남자가 칠십 명이었느니라

에스라가 레위 사람을 찾다

15   내가 무리를 아하와로 흐르는 강 가에 모으고 거기서 삼 일 동안 장막에 머물며 백성과 제사장들을 살핀즉 그 중에 레위 자손이 한 사람도 없는지라

16   이에 모든 족장 곧 엘리에셀과 아리엘과 스마야와 엘라단과 야립과 엘라단과 나단과 스가랴와 므술람을 부르고 또 명철한 사람 요야립과 엘라단을 불러

17   가시뱌 지방으로 보내어 그 곳 족장 잇도에게 나아가게 하고 잇도와 그의 형제 곧 가시뱌 지방에 사는 느디님 사람들에게 할 말을 일러 주고 우리 하나님의 성전을 위하여 섬길 자를 데리고 오라 하였더니

18   우리 하나님의 선한 손의 도우심을 입고 그들이 이스라엘의 손자 레위의 아들 말리의 자손 중에서 한 명철한 사람을 데려오고 또 세레뱌와 그의 아들들과 형제 십팔 명과

19   하사뱌와 므라리 자손 중 여사야와 그의 형제와 그의 아들들 이십 명을 데려오고

20   다윗과 방백들이 레위 사람들을 섬기라고 준 느디님 사람 중 성전 일꾼은 이백이십 명이었는데 그들은 모두 지명 받은 이들이었더라

에스라가 금식하며 간구하다

21   그 때에 내가 아하와 강 가에서 금식을 선포하고 우리 하나님 앞에서 스스로 겸비하여 우리와 우리 어린 아이와 모든 소유를 위하여 평탄한 길을 그에게 간구하였으니

22   이는 우리가 전에 왕에게 아뢰기를 우리 하나님의 손은 자기를 찾는 모든 자에게 선을 베푸시고 자기를 배반하는 모든 자에게는 권능과 진노를 내리신다 하였으므로 길에서 적군을 막고 우리를 도울 보병과 마병을 왕에게 구하기를 부끄러워 하였음이라

23   그러므로 우리가 이를 위하여 금식하며 우리 하나님께 간구하였더니 그의 응낙하심을 입었느니라

성전에 바친 예물

24   그 때에 내가 제사장의 우두머리들 중 열두 명 곧 세레뱌와 하사뱌와 그의 형제 열 명을 따로 세우고

25   그들에게 왕과 모사들과 방백들과 또 그 곳에 있는 이스라엘 무리가 우리 하나님의 성전을 위하여 드린 은과 금과 그릇들을 달아서 주었으니

26   내가 달아서 그들 손에 준 것은 은이 육백오십 달란트요 은 그릇이 달란트요 금이 백 달란트며

27   또 금잔이 스무 개라 그 무게는 천 다릭이요 또 아름답고 빛나 금 같이 보배로운 놋 그릇이 두 개라

28   내가 그들에게 이르되 너희는 여호와께 거룩한 자요 이 그릇들도 거룩하고 그 은과 금은 너희 조상들의 하나님 여호와께 즐거이 드린 예물이니

29   너희는 예루살렘 여호와의 성전 골방에 이르러 제사장들과 레위 사람의 우두머리들과 이스라엘의 족장들 앞에서 이 그릇을 달기까지 삼가 지키라

30   이에 제사장들과 레위 사람들이 은과 금과 그릇을 예루살렘 우리 하나님의 성전으로 가져가려 하여 그 무게대로 받으니라

에스라가 예루살렘으로 돌아오다

31   첫째 달 십이 일에 우리가 아하와 강을 떠나 예루살렘으로 갈새 우리 하나님의 손이 우리를 도우사 대적과 길에 매복한 자의 손에서 건지신지라

32   이에 예루살렘에 이르러 거기서 삼 일 간 머물고

33   제사일에 우리 하나님의 성전에서 은과 금과 그릇을 달아서 제사장 우리야의 아들 므레못의 손에 넘기니 비느하스의 아들 엘르아살과 레위 사람 예수아의 아들 요사밧과 빈누이의 아들 노아댜가 함께 있어

34   모든 것을 다 세고 달아 보고 그 무게의 총량을 그 때에 기록하였느니라

35   사로잡혔던 자의 자손 곧 이방에서 돌아온 자들이 이스라엘의 하나님께 번제를 드렸는데 이스라엘 전체를 위한 수송아지가 열두 마리요 또 숫양이 아흔여섯 마리요 어린 양이 일흔일곱 마리요 또 속죄제의 숫염소가 열두 마리니 모두 여호와께 드린 번제물이라

36   무리가 또 왕의 조서를 왕의 총독들과 유브라데 강 건너편 총독들에게 넘겨 주매 그들이 백성과 하나님의 성전을 도왔느니라

#ESDRAS 8

1Estos son los jefes de casas paternas, y la genealogía de aquellos que subieron conmigo de Babilonia, reinando el rey Artajerjes: 2De los hijos de Finees, Gersón; de los hijos de Itamar, Daniel; de los hijos de David, Hatús. 3De los hijos de Secanías y de los hijos de Paros, Zacarías, y con él, en la línea de varones, ciento cincuenta. 4De los hijos de Pahat-moab, Elioenai hijo de Zeraías, y con él doscientos varones. 5De los hijos de Secanías, el hijo de Jahaziel, y con él trescientos varones. 6De los hijos de Adín, Ebed hijo de Jonatán, y con él cincuenta varones. 7De los hijos de Elam, Jesaías hijo de Atalías, y con él setenta varones. 8De los hijos de Sefatías, Zebadías hijo de Micael, y con él ochenta varones. 9De los hijos de Joab, Obadías hijo de Jehiel, y con él doscientos dieciocho varones. 10De los hijos de Selomit, el hijo de Josifías, y con él ciento sesenta varones. 11De los hijos de Bebai, Zacarías hijo de Bebai, y con él veintiocho varones. 12De los hijos de Azgad, Johanán hijo de Hacatán, y con él ciento diez varones. 13De los hijos de Adonicam, los postreros, cuyos nombres son estos: Elifelet, Jeiel y Semaías, y con ellos sesenta varones. 14Y de los hijos de Bigvai, Utai y Zabud, y con ellos setenta varones.

15Los reuní junto al río que viene a Ahava, y acampamos allí tres días; y habiendo buscado entre el pueblo y entre los sacerdotes, no hallé allí de los hijos de Leví. 16Entonces despaché a Eliezer, Ariel, Semaías, Elnatán, Jarib, Elnatán, Natán, Zacarías y Mesulam, hombres principales, asimismo a Joiarib y a Elnatán, hombres doctos; 17y los envié a Iddo, jefe en el lugar llamado Casifia, y puse en boca de ellos las palabras que habían de hablar a Iddo, y a sus hermanos los sirvientes del templo en el lugar llamado Casifia, para que nos trajesen ministros para la casa de nuestro Dios. 18Y nos trajeron según la buena mano de nuestro Dios sobre nosotros, un varón entendido, de los hijos de Mahli hijo de Leví, hijo de Israel; a Serebías con sus hijos y sus hermanos, dieciocho; 19a Hasabías, y con él a Jesaías de los hijos de Merari, a sus hermanos y a sus hijos, veinte; 20y de los sirvientes del templo, a quienes David con los príncipes puso para el ministerio de los levitas, doscientos veinte sirvientes del templo, todos los cuales fueron designados por sus nombres.

21Y publiqué ayuno allí junto al río Ahava, para afligirnos delante de nuestro Dios, para solicitar de él camino derecho para nosotros, y para nuestros niños, y para todos nuestros bienes. 22Porque tuve vergüenza de pedir al rey tropa y gente de a caballo que nos defendiesen del enemigo en el camino; porque habíamos hablado al rey, diciendo: La mano de nuestro Dios es para bien sobre todos los que le buscan; mas su poder y su furor contra todos los que le abandonan. 23Ayunamos, pues, y pedimos a nuestro Dios sobre esto, y él nos fue propicio.

24Aparté luego a doce de los principales de los sacerdotes, a Serebías y a Hasabías, y con ellos diez de sus hermanos; 25y les pesé la plata, el oro y los utensilios, ofrenda que para la casa de nuestro Dios habían ofrecido el rey y sus consejeros y sus príncipes, y todo Israel allí presente. 26Pesé, pues, en manos de ellos seiscientos cincuenta talentos de plata, y utensilios de plata por cien talentos, y cien talentos de oro; 27además, veinte tazones de oro de mil dracmas, y dos vasos de bronce bruñido muy bueno, preciados como el oro. 28Y les dije: Vosotros estáis consagrados a Jehová, y son santos los utensilios, y la plata y el oro, ofrenda voluntaria a Jehová Dios de nuestros padres. 29Vigilad y guardadlos, hasta que los peséis delante de los príncipes de los sacerdotes y levitas, y de los jefes de las casas paternas de Israel en Jerusalén, en los aposentos de la casa de Jehová. 30Los sacerdotes y los levitas recibieron el peso de la plata y del oro y de los utensilios, para traerlo a Jerusalén a la casa de nuestro Dios.

31Y partimos del río Ahava el doce del mes primero, para ir a Jerusalén; y la mano de nuestro Dios estaba sobre nosotros, y nos libró de mano del enemigo y del acechador en el camino. 32Y llegamos a Jerusalén, y reposamos allí tres días. 33Al cuarto día fue luego pesada la plata, el oro y los utensilios, en la casa de nuestro Dios, por mano del sacerdote Meremot hijo de Urías, y con él Eleazar hijo de Finees; y con ellos Jozabad hijo de Jesúa y Noadías hijo de Binúi, levitas. 34Por cuenta y por peso se entregó todo, y se apuntó todo aquel peso en aquel tiempo.

35Los hijos de la cautividad, los que habían venido del cautiverio, ofrecieron holocaustos al Dios de Israel, doce becerros por todo Israel, noventa y seis carneros, setenta y siete corderos, y doce machos cabríos por expiación, todo en holocausto a Jehová. 36Y entregaron los despachos del rey a sus sátrapas y capitanes del otro lado del río, los cuales ayudaron al pueblo y a la casa de Dios.

Genealogy of Those Who Returned with Ezra

1These are the heads of their fathers’ houses, and this is the genealogy of those who went up with me from Babylonia, in the reign of Artaxerxes the king: 2Of the sons of Phinehas, Gershom. Of the sons of Ithamar, Daniel. Of the sons of David, Hattush. 3Of the sons of Shecaniah, who was of the sons of Parosh, Zechariah, with whom were registered 150 men. 4Of the sons of Pahath-moab, Eliehoenai the son of Zerahiah, and with him 200 men. 5Of the sons of Zattu, Shecaniah the son of Jahaziel, and with him 300 men. 6Of the sons of Adin, Ebed the son of Jonathan, and with him 50 men. 7Of the sons of Elam, Jeshaiah the son of Athaliah, and with him 70 men. 8Of the sons of Shephatiah, Zebadiah the son of Michael, and with him 80 men. 9Of the sons of Joab, Obadiah the son of Jehiel, and with him 218 men. 10Of the sons of Bani, Shelomith the son of Josiphiah, and with him 160 men. 11Of the sons of Bebai, Zechariah, the son of Bebai, and with him 28 men. 12Of the sons of Azgad, Johanan the son of Hakkatan, and with him 110 men. 13Of the sons of Adonikam, those who came later, their names being Eliphelet, Jeuel, and Shemaiah, and with them 60 men. 14Of the sons of Bigvai, Uthai and Zaccur, and with them 70 men.

Ezra Sends for Levites

15I gathered them to the river that runs to Ahava, and there we camped three days. As I reviewed the people and the priests, I found there none of the sons of Levi. 16Then I sent for Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah, and Meshullam, leading men, and for Joiarib and Elnathan, who were men of insight, 17and sent them to Iddo, the leading man at the place Casiphia, telling them what to say to Iddo and his brothers and the temple servants at the place Casiphia, namely, to send us ministers for the house of our God. 18And by the good hand of our God on us, they brought us a man of discretion, of the sons of Mahli the son of Levi, son of Israel, namely Sherebiah with his sons and kinsmen, 18; 19also Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, with his kinsmen and their sons, 20; 20besides 220 of the temple servants, whom David and his officials had set apart to attend the Levites. These were all mentioned by name.

Fasting and Prayer for Protection

21 Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from him a safe journey for ourselves, our children, and all our goods. 22For I was ashamed to ask the king for a band of soldiers and horsemen to protect us against the enemy on our way, since we had told the king, “The hand of our God is for good on all who seek him, and the power of his wrath is against all who forsake him.” 23So we fasted and implored our God for this, and he listened to our entreaty.

Priests to Guard Offerings

24Then I set apart twelve of the leading priests: Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their kinsmen with them. 25And I weighed out to them the silver and the gold and the vessels, the offering for the house of our God that the king and his counselors and his lords and all Israel there present had offered. 26I weighed out into their hand 650 talents of silver, and silver vessels worth 200 talents, and 100 talents of gold, 2720 bowls of gold worth 1,000 darics, and two vessels of fine bright bronze as precious as gold. 28And I said to them, “You are holy to the Lord, and the vessels are holy, and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering to the Lord, the God of your fathers. 29Guard them and keep them until you weigh them before the chief priests and the Levites and the heads of fathers’ houses in Israel at Jerusalem, within the chambers of the house of the Lord.” 30So the priests and the Levites took over the weight of the silver and the gold and the vessels, to bring them to Jerusalem, to the house of our God.

31Then we departed from the river Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go to Jerusalem. The hand of our God was on us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy and from ambushes by the way. 32We came to Jerusalem, and there we remained three days. 33On the fourth day, within the house of our God, the silver and the gold and the vessels were weighed into the hands of Meremoth the priest, son of Uriah, and with him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas, and with them were the Levites, Jozabad the son of Jeshua and Noadiah the son of Binnui. 34The whole was counted and weighed, and the weight of everything was recorded.

35At that time those who had come from captivity, the returned exiles, offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel, twelve bulls for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, and as a sin offering twelve male goats. All this was a burnt offering to the Lord. 36They also delivered the king’s commissions to the king’s satraps and to the governors of the province Beyond the River, and they aided the people and the house of God.
