제 12 장

나단의 책망과 다윗의 회개

1 여호와께서 나단을 다윗에게 보내시니 그가 다윗에게 가서 그에게 이르되 한 성읍에 두 사람이 있는데 한 사람은 부하고 한 사람은 가난하니

2 그 부한 사람은 양과 소가 심히 많으나

3 가난한 사람은 아무것도 없고 자기가 사서 기르는 작은 암양 새끼 한 마리뿐이라 그 암양 새끼는 그와 그의 자식과 함께 자라며 그가 먹는 것을 먹으며 그의 잔으로 마시며 그의 품에 누우므로 그에게는 딸처럼 되었거늘

4 어떤 행인이 그 부자에게 오매 부자가 자기에게 온 행인을 위하여 자기의 양과 소를 아껴 잡지 아니하고 가난한 사람의 양 새끼를 빼앗아다가 자기에게 온 사람을 위하여 잡았나이다 하니

5 다윗이 그 사람으로 말미암아 노하여 나단에게 이르되 여호와의 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하노니 이 일을 행한 그 사람은 마땅히 죽을 자라

6 그가 불쌍히 여기지 아니하고 이런 일을 행하였으니 그 양 새끼를 네 배나 갚아 주어야 하리라 한지라

7 나단이 다윗에게 이르되 당신이 그 사람이라 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 이와 같이 이르시기를 내가 너를 이스라엘 왕으로 기름 붓기 위하여 너를 사울의 손에서 구원하고

8 네 주인의 집을 네게 주고 네 주인의 아내들을 네 품에 두고 이스라엘과 유다 족속을 네게 맡겼느니라 만일 그것이 부족하였을 것 같으면 내가 네게 이것 저것을 더 주었으리라

9 그러한데 어찌하여 네가 여호와의 말씀을 업신여기고 나 보기에 악을 행하였느냐 네가 칼로 헷 사람 우리아를 치되 암몬 자손의 칼로 죽이고 그의 아내를 빼앗아 네 아내로 삼았도다

10 이제 네가 나를 업신여기고 헷 사람 우리아의 아내를 빼앗아 네 아내로 삼았은즉 칼이 네 집에서 영원토록 떠나지 아니하리라 하셨고

11 여호와께서 또 이와 같이 이르시기를 보라 내가 너와 네 집에 재앙을 일으키고 내가 네 눈앞에서 네 아내를 빼앗아 네 이웃들에게 주리니 그 사람들이 네 아내들과 더불어 백주에 동침하리라

12 너는 은밀히 행하였으나 나는 온 이스라엘 앞에서 백주에 이 일을 행하리라 하셨나이다 하니

13 다윗이 나단에게 이르되 내가 여호와께 죄를 범하였노라 하매 나단이 다윗에게 말하되 여호와께서도 당신의 죄를 사하셨나니 당신이 죽지 아니하려니와

14 이 일로 말미암아 여호와의 원수가 크게 비방할 거리를 얻게 하였으니 당신이 낳은 아이가 반드시 죽으리이다 하고

15 나단이 자기 집으로 돌아가니라

다윗의 아이가 죽다

우리아의 아내가 다윗에게 낳은 아이를 여호와께서 치시매 심히 앓는지라

16 다윗이 그 아이를 위하여 하나님께 간구하되 다윗이 금식하고 안에 들어가서 밤새도록 땅에 엎드렸으니

17 그 집의 늙은 자들이 그 곁에 서서 다윗을 땅에서 일으키려 하되 왕이 듣지 아니하고 그들과 더불어 먹지도 아니하더라

18 이레 만에 그 아이가 죽으니라 그러나 다윗의 신하들이 아이가 죽은 것을 왕에게 아뢰기를 두려워하니 이는 그들이 말하기를 아이가 살았을 때에 우리가 그에게 말하여도 왕이 그 말을 듣지 아니하셨나니 어떻게 그 아이가 죽은 것을 그에게 아뢸 수 있으랴 왕이 상심하시리로다 함이라

19 다윗이 그의 신하들이 서로 수군거리는 것을 보고 그 아이가 죽은 줄을 다윗이 깨닫고 그의 신하들에게 묻되 아이가 죽었느냐 하니 대답하되 죽었나이다 하는지라

20 다윗이 땅에서 일어나 몸을 씻고 기름을 바르고 의복을 갈아입고 여호와의 전에 들어가서 경배하고 왕궁으로 돌아와 명령하여 음식을 그 앞에 차리게 하고 먹은지라

21 그의 신하들이 그에게 이르되 아이가 살았을 때에는 그를 위하여 금식하고 우시더니 죽은 후에는 일어나서 잡수시니 이 일이 어찌 됨이니이까 하니

22 이르되 아이가 살았을 때에 내가 금식하고 운 것은 혹시 여호와께서 나를 불쌍히 여기사 아이를 살려 주실는지 누가 알까 생각함이거니와

23 지금은 죽었으니 내가 어찌 금식하랴 내가 다시 돌아오게 할 수 있느냐 나는 그에게로 가려니와 그는 내게로 돌아오지 아니하리라 하니라

솔로몬이 태어나다

24 다윗이 그의 아내 밧세바를 위로하고 그에게 들어가 그와 동침하였더니 그가 아들을 낳으매 그의 이름을 솔로몬이라 하니라 여호와께서 그를 사랑하사

25 선지자 나단을 보내 그의 이름을 1)여디디야라 하시니 이는 여호와께서 사랑하셨기 때문이더라

다윗이 랍바를 쳐서 점령하다(대상 20:1-3)

26 요압이 암몬 자손의 랍바를 쳐서 그 왕성을 점령하매

27 요압이 전령을 다윗에게 보내 이르되 내가 랍바 곧 물들의 성읍을 쳐서 점령하였으니

28 이제 왕은 그 백성의 남은 군사를 모아 그 성에 맞서 진 치고 이 성읍을 쳐서 점령하소서 내가 이 성읍을 점령하면 이 성읍이 내 이름으로 일컬음을 받을까 두려워하나이다 하니

29 다윗이 모든 군사를 모아 랍바로 가서 그 곳을 쳐서 점령하고

30 그 왕의 머리에서 보석 박힌 왕관을 가져오니 그 중량이 금 한 달란트라 다윗이 자기의 머리에 쓰니라 다윗이 또 그 성읍에서 노략한 물건을 무수히 내오고

31 그 안에 있는 백성들을 끌어내어 2)톱질과 써레질과 철도끼질과 벽돌구이를 그들에게 하게 하니라 암몬 자손의 모든 성읍을 이같이 하고 다윗과 모든 백성이 예루살렘으로 돌아가니라

Jehová envió a Natán a David; y viniendo a él, le dijo: Había dos hombres en una ciudad, el uno rico, y el otro pobre. 2. El rico tenía numerosas ovejas y vacas; 3. pero el pobre no tenía más que una sola corderita, que él había comprado y criado, y que había crecido con él y con sus hijos juntamente, comiendo de su bocado y bebiendo de su vaso, y durmiendo en su seno; y la tenía como a una hija. 4. Y vino uno de camino al hombre rico; y este no quiso tomar de sus ovejas y de sus vacas, para guisar para el caminante que había venido a él, sino que tomó la oveja de aquel hombre pobre, y la preparó para aquel que había venido a él. 5. Entonces se encendió el furor de David en gran manera contra aquel hombre, y dijo a Natán: Vive Jehová, que el que tal hizo es digno de muerte. 6. Y debe pagar la cordera con cuatro tantos, porque hizo tal cosa, y no tuvo misericordia. 7. Entonces dijo Natán a David: Tú eres aquel hombre. Así ha dicho Jehová, Dios de Israel: Yo te ungí por rey sobre Israel, y te libré de la mano de Saúl, 8. y te di la casa de tu señor, y las mujeres de tu señor en tu seno; además te di la casa de Israel y de Judá; y si esto fuera poco, te habría añadido mucho más. 9. ¿Por qué, pues, tuviste en poco la palabra de Jehová, haciendo lo malo delante de sus ojos? A Urías heteo heriste a espada, y tomaste por mujer a su mujer, y a él lo mataste con la espada de los hijos de Amón. 10. Por lo cual ahora no se apartará jamás de tu casa la espada, por cuanto me menospreciaste, y tomaste la mujer de Urías heteo para que fuese tu mujer. 11. Así ha dicho Jehová: He aquí yo haré levantar el mal sobre ti de tu misma casa, y tomaré tus mujeres delante de tus ojos, y las daré a tu prójimo, el cual yacerá con tus mujeres a la vista del sol. 12. Porque tú lo hiciste en secreto; mas yo haré esto delante de todo Israel y a pleno sol. 13. Entonces dijo David a Natán: Pequé contra Jehová. Y Natán dijo a David: También Jehová ha remitido tu pecado; no morirás. 14. Mas por cuanto con este asunto hiciste blasfemar a los enemigos de Jehová, el hijo que te ha nacido ciertamente morirá. 15. Y Natán se volvió a su casa. Y Jehová hirió al niño que la mujer de Urías había dado a David, y enfermó gravemente. 16. Entonces David rogó a Dios por el niño; y ayunó David, y entró, y pasó la noche acostado en tierra. 17. Y se levantaron los ancianos de su casa, y fueron a él para hacerlo levantar de la tierra; mas él no quiso, ni comió con ellos pan. 18. Y al séptimo día murió el niño; y temían los siervos de David hacerle saber que el niño había muerto, diciendo entre sí: Cuando el niño aún vivía, le hablábamos, y no quería oír nuestra voz; ¿cuánto más se afligirá si le decimos que el niño ha muerto? 19. Mas David, viendo a sus siervos hablar entre sí, entendió que el niño había muerto; por lo que dijo David a sus siervos: ¿Ha muerto el niño? Y ellos respondieron: Ha muerto. 20. Entonces David se levantó de la tierra, y se lavó y se ungió, y cambió sus ropas, y entró a la casa de Jehová, y adoró. Después vino a su casa, y pidió, y le pusieron pan, y comió. 21. Y le dijeron sus siervos: ¿Qué es esto que has hecho? Por el niño, viviendo aún, ayunabas y llorabas; y muerto él, te levantaste y comiste pan. 22. Y él respondió: Viviendo aún el niño, yo ayunaba y lloraba, diciendo: ¿Quién sabe si Dios tendrá compasión de mí, y vivirá el niño? 23. Mas ahora que ha muerto, ¿para qué he de ayunar? ¿Podré yo hacerle volver? Yo voy a él, mas él no volverá a mí. 24. Y consoló David a Betsabé su mujer, y llegándose a ella durmió con ella; y ella le dio a luz un hijo, y llamó su nombre Salomón, al cual amó Jehová, 25. y envió un mensaje por medio de Natán profeta; así llamó su nombre Jedidías, a causa de Jehová. David captura Rabá (1 Cr. 20.1-3) 26. Joab peleaba contra Rabá de los hijos de Amón, y tomó la ciudad real. 27. Entonces envió Joab mensajeros a David, diciendo: Yo he puesto sitio a Rabá, y he tomado la ciudad de las aguas. 28. Reúne, pues, ahora al pueblo que queda, y acampa contra la ciudad y tómala, no sea que tome yo la ciudad y sea llamada de mi nombre. 29. Y juntando David a todo el pueblo, fue contra Rabá, y combatió contra ella, y la tomó. 30. Y quitó la corona de la cabeza de su rey, la cual pesaba un talento de oro, y tenía piedras preciosas; y fue puesta sobre la cabeza de David. Y sacó muy grande botín de la ciudad. 31. Sacó además a la gente que estaba en ella, y los puso a trabajar con sierras, con trillos de hierro y hachas de hierro, y además los hizo trabajar en los hornos de ladrillos; y lo mismo hizo a todas las ciudades de los hijos de Amón. Y volvió David con todo el pueblo a Jerusalén. 2 #Samuel 12 Nathan Rebukes David 1. And the Lord sent Nathan to David. He came to him and said to him, “There were two men in a certain city, the one rich and the other poor. 2. The rich man had very many flocks and herds, 3. but the poor man had nothing but one little ewe lamb, which he had bought. And he brought it up, and it grew up with him and with his children. It used to eat of his morsel and drink from his cup and lie in his arms, and it was like a daughter to him. 4. Now there came a traveler to the rich man, and he was unwilling to take one of his own flock or herd to prepare for the guest who had come to him, but he took the poor man’s lamb and prepared it for the man who had come to him.” 5. Then David’s anger was greatly kindled against the man, and he said to Nathan, “As the Lord lives, the man who has done this deserves to die, 6. and he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.” 7. Nathan said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul. 8. And I gave you your master’s house and your master’s wives into your arms and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah. And if this were too little, I would add to you as much more. 9. Why have you despised the word of the Lord, to do what is evil in his sight? You have struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and have taken his wife to be your wife and have killed him with the sword of the Ammonites. 10. Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.’ 11. Thus says the Lord, ‘Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house. And I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun. 12. For you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel and before the sun.’” 13. David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die. 14. Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord, the child who is born to you shall die.” 15. Then Nathan went to his house. David’s Child Dies And the Lord afflicted the child that Uriah’s wife bore to David, and he became sick. 16. David therefore sought God on behalf of the child. And David fasted and went in and lay all night on the ground. 17. And the elders of his house stood beside him, to raise him from the ground, but he would not, nor did he eat food with them. 18. On the seventh day the child died. And the servants of David were afraid to tell him that the child was dead, for they said, “Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spoke to him, and he did not listen to us. How then can we say to him the child is dead? He may do himself some harm.” 19. But when David saw that his servants were whispering together, David understood that the child was dead. And David said to his servants, “Is the child dead?” They said, “He is dead.” 20. Then David arose from the earth and washed and anointed himself and changed his clothes. And he went into the house of the Lord and worshiped. He then went to his own house. And when he asked, they set food before him, and he ate. 21. Then his servants said to him, “What is this thing that you have done? You fasted and wept for the child while he was alive; but when the child died, you arose and ate food.” 22. He said, “While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept, for I said, ‘Who knows whether the Lord will be gracious to me, that the child may live?’ 23. But now he is dead. Why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.” Solomon’s Birth 24. Then David comforted his wife, Bathsheba, and went in to her and lay with her, and she bore a son, and he called his name Solomon. And the Lord loved him 25. and sent a message by Nathan the prophet. So he called his name Jedidiah, because of the Lord. Rabbah Is Captured 26. Now Joab fought against Rabbah of the Ammonites and took the royal city. 27. And Joab sent messengers to David and said, “I have fought against Rabbah; moreover, I have taken the city of waters. 28. Now then gather the rest of the people together and encamp against the city and take it, lest I take the city and it be called by my name.” 29. So David gathered all the people together and went to Rabbah and fought against it and took it. 30. And he took the crown of their king from his head. The weight of it was a talent of gold, and in it was a precious stone, and it was placed on David’s head. And he brought out the spoil of the city, a very great amount. 31. And he brought out the people who were in it and set them to labor with saws and iron picks and iron axes and made them toil at the brick kilns. And thus he did to all the cities of the Ammonites. Then David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

Natán amonesta a David

Jehová envió a Natán a David; y viniendo a él, le dijo: Había dos hombres en una ciudad, el uno rico, y el otro pobre.

Por lo cual ahora no se apartará jamás de tu casa la espada, por cuanto me menospreciaste, y tomaste la mujer de Urías heteo para que fuese tu mujer.
Así ha dicho Jehová: He aquí yo haré levantar el mal sobre ti de tu misma casa, y tomaré tus mujeres delante de tus ojos, y las daré a tu prójimo, el cual yacerá con tus mujeres a la vista del sol.
Porque tú lo hiciste en secreto; mas yo haré esto delante de todo Israel y a pleno sol.
Entonces dijo David a Natán: Pequé contra Jehová. Y Natán dijo a David: También Jehová ha remitido tu pecado; no morirás.
Mas por cuanto con este asunto hiciste blasfemar a los enemigos de Jehová, el hijo que te ha nacido ciertamente morirá.
Y Natán se volvió a su casa.
Y Jehová hirió al niño que la mujer de Urías había dado a David, y enfermó gravemente.
Entonces David rogó a Dios por el niño; y ayunó David, y entró, y pasó la noche acostado en tierra.
Y se levantaron los ancianos de su casa, y fueron a él para hacerlo levantar de la tierra; mas él no quiso, ni comió con ellos pan.
Y al séptimo día murió el niño; y temían los siervos de David hacerle saber que el niño había muerto, diciendo entre sí: Cuando el niño aún vivía, le hablábamos, y no quería oír nuestra voz; ¿cuánto más se afligirá si le decimos que el niño ha muerto?
Mas David, viendo a sus siervos hablar entre sí, entendió que el niño había muerto; por lo que dijo David a sus siervos: ¿Ha muerto el niño? Y ellos respondieron: Ha muerto.
Entonces David se levantó de la tierra, y se lavó y se ungió, y cambió sus ropas, y entró a la casa de Jehová, y adoró. Después vino a su casa, y pidió, y le pusieron pan, y comió.
Y le dijeron sus siervos: ¿Qué es esto que has hecho? Por el niño, viviendo aún, ayunabas y llorabas; y muerto él, te levantaste y comiste pan.
Y él respondió: Viviendo aún el niño, yo ayunaba y lloraba, diciendo: ¿Quién sabe si Dios tendrá compasión de mí, y vivirá el niño?
Mas ahora que ha muerto, ¿para qué he de ayunar? ¿Podré yo hacerle volver? Yo voy a él, mas él no volverá a mí.
Y consoló David a Betsabé su mujer, y llegándose a ella durmió con ella; y ella le dio a luz un hijo, y llamó su nombre Salomón, al cual amó Jehová,
y envió un mensaje por medio de Natán profeta; así llamó su nombre Jedidías, a causa de Jehová.

David captura Rabá
(1 Cr. 20.1-3)
Joab peleaba contra Rabá de los hijos de Amón, y tomó la ciudad real.
Entonces envió Joab mensajeros a David, diciendo: Yo he puesto sitio a Rabá, y he tomado la ciudad de las aguas.
Reúne, pues, ahora al pueblo que queda, y acampa contra la ciudad y tómala, no sea que tome yo la ciudad y sea llamada de mi nombre.
Y juntando David a todo el pueblo, fue contra Rabá, y combatió contra ella, y la tomó.
Y quitó la corona de la cabeza de su rey, la cual pesaba un talento de oro, y tenía piedras preciosas; y fue puesta sobre la cabeza de David. Y sacó muy grande botín de la ciudad.
Sacó además a la gente que estaba en ella, y los puso a trabajar con sierras, con trillos de hierro y hachas de hierro, y además los hizo trabajar en los hornos de ladrillos; y lo mismo hizo a todas las ciudades de los hijos de Amón. Y volvió David con todo el pueblo a Jerusalén.

Nathan Rebukes David

And the Lord sent Nathan to David. He came to him and said to him, “There were two men in a certain city, the one rich and the other poor.
The rich man had very many flocks and herds,
but the poor man had nothing but one little ewe lamb, which he had bought. And he brought it up, and it grew up with him and with his children. It used to eat of his morsel and drink from his cup and lie in his arms, and it was like a daughter to him.
Now there came a traveler to the rich man, and he was unwilling to take one of his own flock or herd to prepare for the guest who had come to him, but he took the poor man’s lamb and prepared it for the man who had come to him.”
Then David’s anger was greatly kindled against the man, and he said to Nathan, “As the Lord lives, the man who has done this deserves to die,
and he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.”
Nathan said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul.
And I gave you your master’s house and your master’s wives into your arms and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah. And if this were too little, I would add to you as much more.
Why have you despised the word of the Lord, to do what is evil in his sight? You have struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and have taken his wife to be your wife and have killed him with the sword of the Ammonites.
Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.’
Thus says the Lord, ‘Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house. And I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.
For you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel and before the sun.’”
David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die.
Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord, the child who is born to you shall die.”
Then Nathan went to his house.

David’s Child Dies
And the Lord afflicted the child that Uriah’s wife bore to David, and he became sick.
David therefore sought God on behalf of the child. And David fasted and went in and lay all night on the ground.
And the elders of his house stood beside him, to raise him from the ground, but he would not, nor did he eat food with them.
On the seventh day the child died. And the servants of David were afraid to tell him that the child was dead, for they said, “Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spoke to him, and he did not listen to us. How then can we say to him the child is dead? He may do himself some harm.”
But when David saw that his servants were whispering together, David understood that the child was dead. And David said to his servants, “Is the child dead?” They said, “He is dead.”
Then David arose from the earth and washed and anointed himself and changed his clothes. And he went into the house of the Lord and worshiped. He then went to his own house. And when he asked, they set food before him, and he ate.
Then his servants said to him, “What is this thing that you have done? You fasted and wept for the child while he was alive; but when the child died, you arose and ate food.”
He said, “While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept, for I said, ‘Who knows whether the Lord will be gracious to me, that the child may live?’
But now he is dead. Why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.”

Solomon’s Birth
Then David comforted his wife, Bathsheba, and went in to her and lay with her, and she bore a son, and he called his name Solomon. And the Lord loved him
and sent a message by Nathan the prophet. So he called his name Jedidiah, because of the Lord.

Rabbah Is Captured
Now Joab fought against Rabbah of the Ammonites and took the royal city.
And Joab sent messengers to David and said, “I have fought against Rabbah; moreover, I have taken the city of waters.
Now then gather the rest of the people together and encamp against the city and take it, lest I take the city and it be called by my name.”
So David gathered all the people together and went to Rabbah and fought against it and took it.
And he took the crown of their king from his head. The weight of it was a talent of gold, and in it was a precious stone, and it was placed on David’s head. And he brought out the spoil of the city, a very great amount.
And he brought out the people who were in it and set them to labor with saws and iron picks and iron axes and made them toil at the brick kilns. And thus he did to all the cities of the Ammonites. Then David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
