제 9 장
다윗과 므비보셋
1 다윗이 이르되 사울의 집에 아직도 남은 사람이 있느냐 내가 요나단으로 말미암아 그 사람에게 은총을 베풀리라 하니라
2 사울의 집에는 종 한 사람이 있으니 그의 이름은 시바라 그를 다윗의 앞으로 부르매 왕이 그에게 말하되 네가 시바냐 하니 이르되 당신의 종이니이다 하니라
3 왕이 이르되 사울의 집에 아직도 남은 사람이 없느냐 내가 그 사람에게 하나님의 은총을 베풀고자 하노라 하니 시바가 왕께 아뢰되 요나단의 아들 하나가 있는데 다리 저는 자니이다 하니라
4 왕이 그에게 말하되 그가 어디 있느냐 하니 시바가 왕께 아뢰되 로드발 암미엘의 아들 마길의 집에 있나이다 하니라
5 다윗 왕이 사람을 보내어 로드발 암미엘의 아들 마길의 집에서 그를 데려오니
6 사울의 손자 요나단의 아들 므비보셋이 다윗에게 나아와 그 앞에 엎드려 절하매 다윗이 이르되 므비보셋이여 하니 그가 이르기를 보소서 당신의 종이니이다
7 다윗이 그에게 이르되 무서워하지 말라 내가 반드시 네 아버지 요나단으로 말미암아 네게 은총을 베풀리라 내가 네 할아버지 사울의 모든 밭을 다 네게 도로 주겠고 또 너는 항상 내 상에서 떡을 먹을지니라 하니
8 그가 절하여 이르되 이 종이 무엇이기에 왕께서 죽은 개 같은 나를 돌아보시나이까 하니라
9 왕이 사울의 시종 시바를 불러 그에게 이르되 사울과 그의 온 집에 속한 것은 내가 다 네 주인의 아들에게 주었노니
10 너와 네 아들들과 네 종들은 그를 위하여 땅을 갈고 거두어 네 주인의 아들에게 양식을 대주어 먹게 하라 그러나 네 주인의 아들 므비보셋은 항상 내 상에서 떡을 먹으리라 하니라 시바는 아들이 열다섯 명이요 종이 스무 명이라
11 시바가 왕께 아뢰되 내 주 왕께서 모든 일을 종에게 명령하신 대로 종이 준행하겠나이다 하니라 므비보셋은 왕자 중 하나처럼 왕의 상에서 먹으니라
12 므비보셋에게 어린 아들 하나가 있으니 이름은 미가더라 시바의 집에 사는 자마다 므비보셋의 종이 되니라
13 므비보셋이 항상 왕의 상에서 먹으므로 예루살렘에 사니라 그는 두 발을 다 절더라

Bondad de David hacia Mefi-boset
Dijo David: ¿Ha quedado alguno de la casa de Saúl, a quien haga yo misericordia por amor de Jonatán?
Y había un siervo de la casa de Saúl, que se llamaba Siba, al cual llamaron para que viniese a David. Y el rey le dijo: ¿Eres tú Siba? Y él respondió: Tu siervo.
El rey le dijo: ¿No ha quedado nadie de la casa de Saúl, a quien haga yo misericordia de Dios? Y Siba respondió al rey: Aún ha quedado un hijo de Jonatán, lisiado de los pies.
Entonces el rey le preguntó: ¿Dónde está? Y Siba respondió al rey: He aquí, está en casa de Maquir hijo de Amiel, en Lodebar.
Entonces envió el rey David, y le trajo de la casa de Maquir hijo de Amiel, de Lodebar.
Y vino Mefi-boset, hijo de Jonatán hijo de Saúl, a David, y se postró sobre su rostro e hizo reverencia. Y dijo David: Mefi-boset. Y él respondió: He aquí tu siervo.
Y le dijo David: No tengas temor, porque yo a la verdad haré contigo misericordia por amor de Jonatán tu padre, y te devolveré todas las tierras de Saúl tu padre; y tú comerás siempre a mi mesa.
Y él inclinándose, dijo: ¿Quién es tu siervo, para que mires a un perro muerto como yo?
Entonces el rey llamó a Siba siervo de Saúl, y le dijo: Todo lo que fue de Saúl y de toda su casa, yo lo he dado al hijo de tu señor.
Tú, pues, le labrarás las tierras, tú con tus hijos y tus siervos, y almacenarás los frutos, para que el hijo de tu señor tenga pan para comer; pero Mefi-boset el hijo de tu señor comerá siempre a mi mesa. Y tenía Siba quince hijos y veinte siervos.
Y respondió Siba al rey: Conforme a todo lo que ha mandado mi señor el rey a su siervo, así lo hará tu siervo. Mefi-boset, dijo el rey, comerá a mi mesa, como uno de los hijos del rey.
Y tenía Mefi-boset un hijo pequeño, que se llamaba Micaía. Y toda la familia de la casa de Siba eran siervos de Mefi-boset.
Y moraba Mefi-boset en Jerusalén, porque comía siempre a la mesa del rey; y estaba lisiado de ambos pies.

David’s Kindness to Mephibosheth
And David said, “Is there still anyone left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”
Now there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David. And the king said to him, “Are you Ziba?” And he said, “I am your servant.”
And the king said, “Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God to him?” Ziba said to the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan; he is crippled in his feet.”
The king said to him, “Where is he?” And Ziba said to the king, “He is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, at Lo-debar.”
Then King David sent and brought him from the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, at Lo-debar.
And Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, son of Saul, came to David and fell on his face and paid homage. And David said, “Mephibosheth!” And he answered, “Behold, I am your servant.”
And David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan, and I will restore to you all the land of Saul your father, and you shall eat at my table always.”
And he paid homage and said, “What is your servant, that you should show regard for a dead dog such as I?”
Then the king called Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said to him, “All that belonged to Saul and to all his house I have given to your master’s grandson.
And you and your sons and your servants shall till the land for him and shall bring in the produce, that your master’s grandson may have bread to eat. But Mephibosheth your master’s grandson shall always eat at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
Then Ziba said to the king, “According to all that my lord the king commands his servant, so will your servant do.” So Mephibosheth ate at David’s table, like one of the king’s sons.
And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Mica. And all who lived in Ziba’s house became Mephibosheth’s servants.
So Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, for he ate always at the king’s table. Now he was lame in both his feet.
