제 22 장

사울이 놉의 제사장들을 죽이다

1 그러므로 다윗이 그 곳을 떠나 아둘람 굴로 도망하매 그의 형제와 아버지의 온 집이 듣고 그리로 내려가서 그에게 이르렀고

2 환난 당한 모든 자와 빚진 모든 자와 마음이 원통한 자가 다 그에게로 모였고 그는 그들의 우두머리가 되었는데 그와 함께 한 자가 사백 명 가량이었더라

3 다윗이 거기서 모압 미스베로 가서 모압 왕에게 이르되 하나님이 나를 위하여 어떻게 하실지를 내가 알기까지 나의 부모가 나와서 당신들과 함께 있게 하기를 청하나이다 하고

4 부모를 인도하여 모압 왕 앞에 나아갔더니 그들은 다윗이 요새에 있을 동안에 모압 왕과 함께 있었더라

5 선지자 갓이 다윗에게 이르되 너는 이 요새에 있지 말고 떠나 유다 땅으로 들어가라 다윗이 떠나 헤렛 수풀에 이르니라

6 사울이 다윗과 그와 함께 있는 사람들이 나타났다 함을 들으니라 그 때에 사울이 기브아 높은 곳에서 손에 단창을 들고 에셀 나무 아래에 앉았고 모든 신하들은 그의 곁에 섰더니

7 사울이 곁에 선 신하들에게 이르되 너희 베냐민 사람들아 들으라 이새의 아들이 너희에게 각기 밭과 포도원을 주며 너희를 천부장, 백부장을 삼겠느냐

8 너희가 다 공모하여 나를 대적하며 내 아들이 이새의 아들과 맹약하였으되 내게 고발하는 자가 하나도 없고 나를 위하여 슬퍼하거나 내 아들이 내 신하를 선동하여 오늘이라도 매복하였다가 나를 치려 하는 것을 내게 알리는 자가 하나도 없도다 하니

9 그 때에 에돔 사람 도엑이 사울의 신하 중에 섰더니 대답하여 이르되 이새의 아들이 놉에 와서 아히둡의 아들 아히멜렉에게 이른 것을 내가 보았는데

10 아히멜렉이 그를 위하여 여호와께 묻고 그에게 음식도 주고 블레셋 사람 골리앗의 칼도 주더이다

11 왕이 사람을 보내어 아히둡의 아들 제사장 아히멜렉과 그의 아버지의 온 집 곧 놉에 있는 제사장들을 부르매 그들이 다 왕께 이른지라

12 사울이 이르되 너 아히둡의 아들아 들으라 대답하되 내 주여 내가 여기 있나이다

13 사울이 그에게 이르되 네가 어찌하여 이새의 아들과 공모하여 나를 대적하여 그에게 떡과 칼을 주고 그를 위하여 하나님께 물어서 그에게 오늘이라도 매복하였다가 나를 치게 하려 하였느냐 하니

14 아히멜렉이 왕에게 대답하여 이르되 왕의 모든 신하 중에 다윗 같이 충실한 자가 누구인지요 그는 왕의 사위도 되고 왕의 호위대장도 되고 왕실에서 존귀한 자가 아니니이까

15 내가 그를 위하여 하나님께 물은 것이 오늘이 처음이니이까 결단코 아니니이다 원하건대 왕은 종과 종의 아비의 온 집에 아무것도 돌리지 마옵소서 왕의 종은 이 모든 크고 작은 일에 관하여 아는 것이 없나이다 하니라

16 왕이 이르되 아히멜렉아 네가 반드시 죽을 것이요 너와 네 아비의 온 집도 그러하리라 하고

17 왕이 좌우의 호위병에게 이르되 돌아가서 여호와의 제사장들을 죽이라 그들도 다윗과 합력하였고 또 그들이 다윗이 도망한 것을 알고도 내게 알리지 아니하였음이니라 하나 왕의 신하들이 손을 들어 여호와의 제사장들 죽이기를 싫어한지라

18 왕이 도엑에게 이르되 너는 돌아가서 제사장들을 죽이라 하매 에돔 사람 도엑이 돌아가서 제사장들을 쳐서 그 날에 세마포 에봇 입은 자 팔십오 명을 죽였고

19 제사장들의 성읍 놉의 남녀와 아이들과 젖 먹는 자들과 소와 나귀와 양을 칼로 쳤더라

20 아히둡의 아들 아히멜렉의 아들 중 하나가 피하였으니 그의 이름은 아비아달이라 그가 도망하여 다윗에게로 가서

21 사울이 여호와의 제사장들 죽인 일을 다윗에게 알리매

22 다윗이 아비아달에게 이르되 그 날에 에돔 사람 도엑이 거기 있기로 그가 반드시 사울에게 말할 줄 내가 알았노라 네 아버지 집의 모든 사람 죽은 것이 나의 탓이로다

23 두려워하지 말고 내게 있으라 내 생명을 찾는 자가 네 생명도 찾는 자니 네가 나와 함께 있으면 안전하리라 하니라

Yéndose luego David de allí, huyó a la cueva de Adulam; y cuando sus hermanos y toda la casa de su padre lo supieron, vinieron allí a él. 2. Y se juntaron con él todos los afligidos, y todo el que estaba endeudado, y todos los que se hallaban en amargura de espíritu, y fue hecho jefe de ellos; y tuvo consigo como cuatrocientos hombres. 3. Y se fue David de allí a Mizpa de Moab, y dijo al rey de Moab: Yo te ruego que mi padre y mi madre estén con vosotros, hasta que sepa lo que Dios hará de mí. 4. Los trajo, pues, a la presencia del rey de Moab, y habitaron con él todo el tiempo que David estuvo en el lugar fuerte. 5. Pero el profeta Gad dijo a David: No te estés en este lugar fuerte; anda y vete a tierra de Judá. Y David se fue, y vino al bosque de Haret. Saúl mata a los sacerdotes de Nob 6. Oyó Saúl que se sabía de David y de los que estaban con él. Y Saúl estaba sentado en Gabaa, debajo de un tamarisco sobre un alto; y tenía su lanza en su mano, y todos sus siervos estaban alrededor de él. 7. Y dijo Saúl a sus siervos que estaban alrededor de él: Oíd ahora, hijos de Benjamín: ¿Os dará también a todos vosotros el hijo de Isaí tierras y viñas, y os hará a todos vosotros jefes de millares y jefes de centenas, 8. para que todos vosotros hayáis conspirado contra mí, y no haya quien me descubra al oído cómo mi hijo ha hecho alianza con el hijo de Isaí, ni alguno de vosotros que se duela de mí y me descubra cómo mi hijo ha levantado a mi siervo contra mí para que me aceche, tal como lo hace hoy? 9. Entonces Doeg edomita, que era el principal de los siervos de Saúl, respondió y dijo: Yo vi al hijo de Isaí que vino a Nob, a Ahimelec hijo de Ahitob, 10. el cual consultó por él a Jehová y le dio provisiones, y también le dio la espada de Goliat el filisteo. 11. Y el rey envió por el sacerdote Ahimelec hijo de Ahitob, y por toda la casa de su padre, los sacerdotes que estaban en Nob; y todos vinieron al rey. 12. Y Saúl le dijo: Oye ahora, hijo de Ahitob. Y él dijo: Heme aquí, señor mío. 13. Y le dijo Saúl: ¿Por qué habéis conspirado contra mí, tú y el hijo de Isaí, cuando le diste pan y espada, y consultaste por él a Dios, para que se levantase contra mí y me acechase, como lo hace hoy día? 14. Entonces Ahimelec respondió al rey, y dijo: ¿Y quién entre todos tus siervos es tan fiel como David, yerno también del rey, que sirve a tus órdenes y es ilustre en tu casa? 15. ¿He comenzado yo desde hoy a consultar por él a Dios? Lejos sea de mí; no culpe el rey de cosa alguna a su siervo, ni a toda la casa de mi padre; porque tu siervo ninguna cosa sabe de este asunto, grande ni pequeña. 16. Y el rey dijo: Sin duda morirás, Ahimelec, tú y toda la casa de tu padre. 17. Entonces dijo el rey a la gente de su guardia que estaba alrededor de él: Volveos y matad a los sacerdotes de Jehová; porque también la mano de ellos está con David, pues sabiendo ellos que huía, no me lo descubrieron. Pero los siervos del rey no quisieron extender sus manos para matar a los sacerdotes de Jehová. 18. Entonces dijo el rey a Doeg: Vuelve tú, y arremete contra los sacerdotes. Y se volvió Doeg el edomita y acometió a los sacerdotes, y mató en aquel día a ochenta y cinco varones que vestían efod de lino. 19. Y a Nob, ciudad de los sacerdotes, hirió a filo de espada; así a hombres como a mujeres, niños hasta los de pecho, bueyes, asnos y ovejas, todo lo hirió a filo de espada. 20. Pero uno de los hijos de Ahimelec hijo de Ahitob, que se llamaba Abiatar, escapó, y huyó tras David. 21. Y Abiatar dio aviso a David de cómo Saúl había dado muerte a los sacerdotes de Jehová. 22. Y dijo David a Abiatar: Yo sabía que estando allí aquel día Doeg el edomita, él lo había de hacer saber a Saúl. Yo he ocasionado la muerte a todas las personas de la casa de tu padre. 23. Quédate conmigo, no temas; quien buscare mi vida, buscará también la tuya; pues conmigo estarás a salvo. 1 #Samuel 22 David at the Cave of Adullam 1. And everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was bitter in soul, gathered to him. And he became commander over them. And there were with him about four hundred men. 3. And David went from there to Mizpeh of Moab. And he said to the king of Moab, “Please let my father and my mother stay with you, till I know what God will do for me.” 4. And he left them with the king of Moab, and they stayed with him all the time that David was in the stronghold. 5. Then the prophet Gad said to David, “Do not remain in the stronghold; depart, and go into the land of Judah.” So David departed and went into the forest of Hereth. Saul Kills the Priests at Nob 6. Now Saul heard that David was discovered, and the men who were with him. Saul was sitting at Gibeah under the tamarisk tree on the height with his spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing about him. 7. And Saul said to his servants who stood about him, “Hear now, people of Benjamin; will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, will he make you all commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, 8. that all of you have conspired against me? No one discloses to me when my son makes a covenant with the son of Jesse. None of you is sorry for me or discloses to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day.” 9. Then answered Doeg the Edomite, who stood by the servants of Saul, “I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, 10. and he inquired of the Lord for him and gave him provisions and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.” 11. Then the king sent to summon Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father’s house, the priests who were at Nob, and all of them came to the king. 12. And Saul said, “Hear now, son of Ahitub.” And he answered, “Here I am, my lord.” 13. And Saul said to him, “Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread and a sword and have inquired of God for him, so that he has risen against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?” 14. Then Ahimelech answered the king, “And who among all your servants is so faithful as David, who is the king’s son-in-law, and captain over your bodyguard, and honored in your house? 15. Is today the first time that I have inquired of God for him? No! Let not the king impute anything to his servant or to all the house of my father, for your servant has known nothing of all this, much or little.” 16. And the king said, “You shall surely die, Ahimelech, you and all your father’s house.” 17. And the king said to the guard who stood about him, “Turn and kill the priests of the Lord, because their hand also is with David, and they knew that he fled and did not disclose it to me.” But the servants of the king would not put out their hand to strike the priests of the Lord. 18. Then the king said to Doeg, “You turn and strike the priests.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod. 19. And Nob, the city of the priests, he put to the sword; both man and woman, child and infant, ox, donkey and sheep, he put to the sword. 20. But one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled after David. 21. And Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the priests of the Lord. 22. And David said to Abiathar, “I knew on that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I have occasioned the death of all the persons of your father’s house. 23. Stay with me; do not be afraid, for he who seeks my life seeks your life. With me you shall be in safekeeping.”

And the king said to the guard who stood about him, “Turn and kill the priests of the Lord, because their hand also is with David, and they knew that he fled and did not disclose it to me.” But the servants of the king would not put out their hand to strike the priests of the Lord.
Then the king said to Doeg, “You turn and strike the priests.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod.
And Nob, the city of the priests, he put to the sword; both man and woman, child and infant, ox, donkey and sheep, he put to the sword.
But one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled after David.
And Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the priests of the Lord.
And David said to Abiathar, “I knew on that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I have occasioned the death of all the persons of your father’s house.
Stay with me; do not be afraid, for he who seeks my life seeks your life. With me you shall be in safekeeping.”
