#성경정독 #사무엘상2장 #개역개정 #RVR1960 #ESV 사무엘상 2장 공식 사이트 : http://www.prsi.org 본 영상은 CGNTV와 공동체성경읽기(PRS)가 공동기획하여 제작한 영상으로 무단으로 영상을 편집 및 재배포가 금지됩니다. 영상 제공 : CGNTV 제공 #공동체성경읽기#성경 #드라마바이블 #Bible #크리스천 #기독교 #설교 #말씀#성경낭독 제 2 장 한나의 기도 1 한나가 기도하여 이르되 내 마음이 여호와로 말미암아 즐거워하며 내 뿔이 여호와로 말미암아 높아졌으며 내 입이 내 원수들을 향하여 크게 열렸으니 이는 내가 주의 구원으로 말미암아 기뻐함이니이다 2 여호와와 같이 거룩하신 이가 없으시니 이는 주 밖에 다른 이가 없고 우리 하나님 같은 반석도 없으심이니이다 3 심히 교만한 말을 다시 하지 말 것이며 오만한 말을 너희의 입에서 내지 말지어다 여호와는 지식의 하나님이시라 행동을 달아 보시느니라 4 용사의 활은 꺾이고 넘어진 자는 힘으로 띠를 띠도다 5 풍족하던 자들은 양식을 위하여 품을 팔고 주리던 자들은 다시 주리지 아니하도다 전에 임신하지 못하던 자는 일곱을 낳았고 많은 자녀를 둔 자는 쇠약하도다 6 여호와는 죽이기도 하시고 살리기도 하시며 스올에 내리게도 하시고 거기에서 올리기도 하시는도다 7 여호와는 가난하게도 하시고 부하게도 하시며 낮추기도 하시고 높이기도 하시는도다 8 가난한 자를 진토에서 일으키시며 빈궁한 자를 거름더미에서 올리사 귀족들과 함께 앉게 하시며 영광의 자리를 차지하게 하시는도다 땅의 기둥들은 여호와의 것이라 여호와께서 세계를 그것들 위에 세우셨도다 9 그가 그의 거룩한 자들의 발을 지키실 것이요 악인들을 흑암 중에서 잠잠하게 하시리니 힘으로는 이길 사람이 없음이로다 10 여호와를 대적하는 자는 산산이 깨어질 것이라 하늘에서 우레로 그들을 치시리로다 여호와께서 땅 끝까지 심판을 내리시고 자기 왕에게 힘을 주시며 자기의 기름 부음을 받은 자의 뿔을 높이시리로다 하니라 11 엘가나는 라마의 자기 집으로 돌아가고 그 아이는 제사장 엘리 앞에서 여호와를 섬기니라 행실이 나쁜 엘리의 아들들 12 엘리의 아들들은 행실이 나빠 여호와를 알지 못하더라 13 그 제사장들이 백성에게 행하는 관습은 이러하니 곧 어떤 사람이 제사를 드리고 그 고기를 삶을 때에 제사장의 사환이 손에 세 살 갈고리를 가지고 와서 14 그것으로 냄비에나 솥에나 큰 솥에나 가마에 찔러 넣어 갈고리에 걸려 나오는 것은 제사장이 자기 것으로 가지되 실로에서 그 곳에 온 모든 이스라엘 사람에게 이같이 할 뿐 아니라 15 기름을 태우기 전에도 제사장의 사환이 와서 제사 드리는 사람에게 이르기를 제사장에게 구워 드릴 고기를 내라 그가 네게 삶은 고기를 원하지 아니하고 날 것을 원하신다 하다가 16 그 사람이 이르기를 반드시 1)먼저 기름을 태운 후에 네 마음에 원하는 대로 가지라 하면 그가 말하기를 아니라 지금 내게 내라 그렇지 아니하면 내가 억지로 빼앗으리라 하였으니 17 이 소년들의 죄가 여호와 앞에 심히 큼은 그들이 여호와의 제사를 멸시함이었더라 실로에 머문 사무엘 18 사무엘은 어렸을 때에 세마포 에봇을 입고 여호와 앞에서 섬겼더라 19 그의 어머니가 매년 드리는 제사를 드리러 그의 남편과 함께 올라갈 때마다 작은 겉옷을 지어다가 그에게 주었더니 20 엘리가 엘가나와 그의 아내에게 축복하여 이르되 여호와께서 이 여인으로 말미암아 네게 다른 후사를 주사 이가 여호와께 간구하여 얻어 바친 아들을 대신하게 하시기를 원하노라 하였더니 그들이 자기 집으로 돌아가매 21 여호와께서 한나를 돌보시사 그로 하여금 임신하여 세 아들과 두 딸을 낳게 하셨고 아이 사무엘은 여호와 앞에서 자라니라 엘리와 그의 아들들 22 엘리가 매우 늙었더니 그의 아들들이 온 이스라엘에게 행한 모든 일과 회막 문에서 수종 드는 여인들과 동침하였음을 듣고 23 그들에게 이르되 너희가 어찌하여 이런 일을 하느냐 내가 너희의 악행을 이 모든 백성에게서 듣노라 24 내 아들들아 그리하지 말라 내게 들리는 소문이 좋지 아니하니라 너희가 여호와의 백성으로 범죄하게 하는도다 25 사람이 사람에게 범죄하면 2)하나님이 심판하시려니와 만일 사람이 여호와께 범죄하면 누가 그를 위하여 간구하겠느냐 하되 그들이 자기 아버지의 말을 듣지 아니하였으니 이는 여호와께서 그들을 죽이기로 뜻하셨음이더라 26 아이 사무엘이 점점 자라매 여호와와 사람들에게 은총을 더욱 받더라 엘리의 집에 내린 저주 27 하나님의 사람이 엘리에게 와서 그에게 이르되 여호와의 말씀에 너희 조상의 집이 애굽에서 바로의 집에 속하였을 때에 내가 그들에게 나타나지 아니하였느냐 28 이스라엘 모든 지파 중에서 내가 그를 택하여 내 제사장으로 삼아 그가 내 제단에 올라 분향하며 내 앞에서 에봇을 입게 하지 아니하였느냐 이스라엘 자손이 드리는 모든 화제를 내가 네 조상의 집에 주지 아니하였느냐 29 너희는 어찌하여 내가 내 처소에서 명령한 내 제물과 예물을 밟으며 네 아들들을 나보다 더 중히 여겨 내 백성 이스라엘이 드리는 가장 좋은 것으로 너희들을 살지게 하느냐 30 그러므로 이스라엘의 하나님 나 여호와가 말하노라 내가 전에 네 집과 네 조상의 집이 내 앞에 영원히 행하리라 하였으나 이제 나 여호와가 말하노니 결단코 그렇게 하지 아니하리라 나를 존중히 여기는 자를 내가 존중히 여기고 나를 멸시하는 자를 내가 경멸하리라 31 보라 내가 네 팔과 네 조상의 집 팔을 끊어 네 집에 노인이 하나도 없게 하는 날이 이를지라 32 이스라엘에게 모든 복을 내리는 중에 너는 내 처소의 3)환난을 볼 것이요 네 집에 영원토록 노인이 없을 것이며 33 내 제단에서 내가 끊어 버리지 아니할 네 사람이 네 눈을 쇠잔하게 하고 네 마음을 슬프게 할 것이요 네 집에서 출산되는 모든 자가 젊어서 죽으리라 34 네 두 아들 홉니와 비느하스가 한 날에 죽으리니 그 둘이 당할 그 일이 네게 표징이 되리라 35 내가 나를 위하여 충실한 제사장을 일으키리니 그 사람은 내 마음, 내 뜻대로 행할 것이라 내가 그를 위하여 견고한 집을 세우리니 그가 나의 기름 부음을 받은 자 앞에서 영구히 행하리라 36 그리고 네 집에 남은 사람이 각기 와서 은 한 조각과 떡 한 덩이를 위하여 그에게 엎드려 이르되 청하노니 내게 제사장의 직분 하나를 맡겨 내게 떡 조각을 먹게 하소서 하리라 하셨다 하니라 1 #Samuel 2 Cántico de Ana 1. Y Ana oró y dijo: Mi corazón se regocija en Jehová, Mi poder se exalta en Jehová; Mi boca se ensanchó sobre mis enemigos, Por cuanto me alegré en tu salvación. 2. No hay santo como Jehová; Porque no hay ninguno fuera de ti, Y no hay refugio como el Dios nuestro. 3. No multipliquéis palabras de grandeza y altanería; Cesen las palabras arrogantes de vuestra boca; Porque el Dios de todo saber es Jehová, Y a él toca el pesar las acciones. 4. Los arcos de los fuertes fueron quebrados, Y los débiles se ciñeron de poder. 5. Los saciados se alquilaron por pan, Y los hambrientos dejaron de tener hambre; Hasta la estéril ha dado a luz siete, Y la que tenía muchos hijos languidece. 6. Jehová mata, y él da vida; Él hace descender al Seol, y hace subir. 7. Jehová empobrece, y él enriquece; Abate, y enaltece. 8. Él levanta del polvo al pobre, Y del muladar exalta al menesteroso, Para hacerle sentarse con príncipes y heredar un sitio de honor. Porque de Jehová son las columnas de la tierra, Y él afirmó sobre ellas el mundo. 9. Él guarda los pies de sus santos, Mas los impíos perecen en tinieblas; Porque nadie será fuerte por su propia fuerza. 10. Delante de Jehová serán quebrantados sus adversarios, Y sobre ellos tronará desde los cielos; Jehová juzgará los confines de la tierra, Dará poder a su Rey, Y exaltará el poderío de su Ungido. 11. Y Elcana se volvió a su casa en Ramá; y el niño ministraba a Jehová delante del sacerdote Elí. El pecado de los hijos de Elí 12. Los hijos de Elí eran hombres impíos, y no tenían conocimiento de Jehová. 13. Y era costumbre de los sacerdotes con el pueblo, que cuando alguno ofrecía sacrificio, venía el criado del sacerdote mientras se cocía la carne, trayendo en su mano un garfio de tres dientes, 14. y lo metía en el perol, en la olla, en el caldero o en la marmita; y todo lo que sacaba el garfio, el sacerdote lo tomaba para sí. De esta manera hacían con todo israelita que venía a Silo. 15. Asimismo, antes de quemar la grosura, venía el criado del sacerdote, y decía al que sacrificaba: Da carne que asar para el sacerdote; porque no tomará de ti carne cocida, sino cruda. 16. Y si el hombre le respondía: Quemen la grosura primero, y después toma tanto como quieras; él respondía: No, sino dámela ahora mismo; de otra manera yo la tomaré por la fuerza. 17. Era, pues, muy grande delante de Jehová el pecado de los jóvenes; porque los hombres menospreciaban las ofrendas de Jehová. 18. Y el joven Samuel ministraba en la presencia de Jehová, vestido de un efod de lino. 19. Y le hacía su madre una túnica pequeña y se la traía cada año, cuando subía con su marido para ofrecer el sacrificio acostumbrado. 20. Y Elí bendijo a Elcana y a su mujer, diciendo: Jehová te dé hijos de esta mujer en lugar del que pidió a Jehová. Y se volvieron a su casa. 21. Y visitó Jehová a Ana, y ella concibió, y dio a luz tres hijos y dos hijas. Y el joven Samuel crecía delante de Jehová. 22. Pero Elí era muy viejo; y oía de todo lo que sus hijos hacían con todo Israel, y cómo dormían con las mujeres que velaban a la puerta del tabernáculo de reunión. 23. Y les dijo: ¿Por qué hacéis cosas semejantes? Porque yo oigo de todo este pueblo vuestros malos procederes. 24. No, hijos míos, porque no es buena fama la que yo oigo; pues hacéis pecar al pueblo de Jehová. 25. Si pecare el hombre contra el hombre, los jueces le juzgarán; mas si alguno pecare contra Jehová, ¿quién rogará por él? Pero ellos no oyeron la voz de su padre, porque Jehová había resuelto hacerlos morir. 26. Y el joven Samuel iba creciendo, y era acepto delante de Dios y delante de los hombres. 27. Y vino un varón de Dios a Elí, y le dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová: ¿No me manifesté yo claramente a la casa de tu padre, cuando estaban en Egipto en casa de Faraón? 28. Y yo le escogí por mi sacerdote entre todas las tribus de Israel, para que ofreciese sobre mi altar, y quemase incienso, y llevase efod delante de mí; y di a la casa de tu padre todas las ofrendas de los hijos de Israel. 29. ¿Por qué habéis hollado mis sacrificios y mis ofrendas, que yo mandé ofrecer en el tabernáculo; y has honrado a tus hijos más que a mí, engordándoos de lo principal de todas las ofrendas de mi pueblo Israel? 30. Por tanto, Jehová el Dios de Israel dice: Yo había dicho que tu casa y la casa de tu padre andarían delante de mí perpetuamente; mas ahora ha dicho Jehová: Nunca yo tal haga, porque yo honraré a los que me honran, y los que me desprecian serán tenidos en poco. 31. He aquí, vienen días en que cortaré tu brazo y el brazo de la casa de tu padre, de modo que no haya anciano en tu casa. 32. Verás tu casa humillada, mientras Dios colma de bienes a Israel; y en ningún tiempo habrá anciano en tu casa. 33. El varón de los tuyos que yo no corte de mi altar, será para consumir tus ojos y llenar tu alma de dolor; y todos los nacidos en tu casa morirán en la edad viril. 34. Y te será por señal esto que acontecerá a tus dos hijos, Ofni y Finees: ambos morirán en un día. 35. Y yo me suscitaré un sacerdote fiel, que haga conforme a mi corazón y a mi alma; y yo le edificaré casa firme, y andará delante de mi ungido todos los días. 36. Y el que hubiere quedado en tu casa vendrá a postrarse delante de él por una moneda de plata y un bocado de pan, diciéndole: Te ruego que me agregues a alguno de los ministerios, para que pueda comer un bocado de pan. 1 #Samuel 2 Hannah’s Prayer 1. And Hannah prayed and said, “My heart exults in the Lord; my horn is exalted in the Lord. My mouth derides my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation. 2. “There is none holy like the Lord: for there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God. 3. Talk no more so very proudly, let not arrogance come from your mouth; for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. 4. The bows of the mighty are broken, but the feeble bind on strength. 5. Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, but those who were hungry have ceased to hunger. The barren has borne seven, but she who has many children is forlorn. 6. The Lord kills and brings to life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up. 7. The Lord makes poor and makes rich; he brings low and he exalts. 8. He raises up the poor from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honor. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and on them he has set the world. 9. “He will guard the feet of his faithful ones, but the wicked shall be cut off in darkness, for not by might shall a man prevail. 10. The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces; against them he will thunder in heaven. The Lord will judge the ends of the earth; he will give strength to his king and exalt the horn of his anointed.” 11. Then Elkanah went home to Ramah. And the boy was ministering to the Lord in the presence of Eli the priest. Eli’s Worthless Sons 12. Now the sons of Eli were worthless men. They did not know the Lord. 13. The custom of the priests with the people was that when any man offered sacrifice, the priest’s servant would come, while the meat was boiling, with a three-pronged fork in his hand, 14. and he would thrust it into the pan or kettle or cauldron or pot. All that the fork brought up the priest would take for himself. This is what they did at Shiloh to all the Israelites who came there. 15. Moreover, before the fat was burned, the priest’s servant would come and say to the man who was sacrificing, “Give meat for the priest to roast, for he will not accept boiled meat from you but only raw.” 16. And if the man said to him, “Let them burn the fat first, and then take as much as you wish,” he would say, “No, you must give it now, and if not, I will take it by force.” 17. Thus the sin of the young men was very great in the sight of the Lord, for the men treated the offering of the Lord with contempt. 18. Samuel was ministering before the Lord, a boy clothed with a linen ephod. 19. And his mother used to make for him a little robe and take it to him each year when she went up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice. 20. Then Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, and say, “May the Lord give you children by this woman for the petition she asked of the Lord.” So then they would return to their home. 21. Indeed the Lord visited Hannah, and she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. And the boy Samuel grew in the presence of the Lord. Eli Rebukes His Sons 22. Now Eli was very old, and he kept hearing all that his sons were doing to all Israel, and how they lay with the women who were serving at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 23. And he said to them, “Why do you do such things? For I hear of your evil dealings from all these people. 24. No, my sons; it is no good report that I hear the people of the Lord spreading abroad. 25. If someone sins against a man, God will mediate for him, but if someone sins against the Lord, who can intercede for him?” But they would not listen to the voice of their father, for it was the will of the Lord to put them to death. 26. Now the boy Samuel continued to grow both in stature and in favor with the Lord and also with man. The Lord Rejects Eli’s Household 27. And there came a man of God to Eli and said to him, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Did I indeed reveal myself to the house of your father when they were in Egypt subject to the house of Pharaoh? 28. Did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? I gave to the house of your father all my offerings by fire from the people of Israel. 29. Why then do you scorn my sacrifices and my offerings that I commanded for my dwelling, and honor your sons above me by fattening yourselves on the choicest parts of every offering of my people Israel?’ 30. Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I promised that your house and the house of your father should go in and out before me forever,’ but now the Lord declares: ‘Far be it from me, for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed. 31. Behold, the days are coming when I will cut off your strength and the strength of your father’s house, so that there will not be an old man in your house. 32. Then in distress you will look with envious eye on all the prosperity that shall be bestowed on Israel, and there shall not be an old man in your house forever. 33. The only one of you whom I shall not cut off from my altar shall be spared to weep his eyes out to grieve his heart, and all the descendants of your house shall die by the sword of men. 34. And this that shall come upon your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, shall be the sign to you: both of them shall die on the same day. 35. And I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, who shall do according to what is in my heart and in my mind. And I will build him a sure house, and he shall go in and out before my anointed forever. 36. And everyone who is left in your house shall come to implore him for a piece of silver or a loaf of bread and shall say, “Please put me in one of the priests’ places, that I may eat a morsel of bread.”’”

제 2 장

한나의 기도

1 한나가 기도하여 이르되 내 마음이 여호와로 말미암아 즐거워하며 내 뿔이 여호와로 말미암아 높아졌으며 내 입이 내 원수들을 향하여 크게 열렸으니 이는 내가 주의 구원으로 말미암아 기뻐함이니이다

2 여호와와 같이 거룩하신 이가 없으시니 이는 주 밖에 다른 이가 없고 우리 하나님 같은 반석도 없으심이니이다

3 심히 교만한 말을 다시 하지 말 것이며 오만한 말을 너희의 입에서 내지 말지어다 여호와는 지식의 하나님이시라 행동을 달아 보시느니라

4 용사의 활은 꺾이고 넘어진 자는 힘으로 띠를 띠도다

행실이 나쁜 엘리의 아들들

엘리와 그의 아들들

26 아이 사무엘이 점점 자라매 여호와와 사람들에게 은총을 더욱 받더라

엘리의 집에 내린 저주

27 하나님의 사람이 엘리에게 와서 그에게 이르되 여호와의 말씀에 너희 조상의 집이 애굽에서 바로의 집에 속하였을 때에 내가 그들에게 나타나지 아니하였느냐

28 이스라엘 모든 지파 중에서 내가 그를 택하여 내 제사장으로 삼아 그가 내 제단에 올라 분향하며 내 앞에서 에봇을 입게 하지 아니하였느냐 이스라엘 자손이 드리는 모든 화제를 내가 네 조상의 집에 주지 아니하였느냐

29 너희는 어찌하여 내가 내 처소에서 명령한 내 제물과 예물을 밟으며 네 아들들을 나보다 더 중히 여겨 내 백성 이스라엘이 드리는 가장 좋은 것으로 너희들을 살지게 하느냐

30 그러므로 이스라엘의 하나님 나 여호와가 말하노라 내가 전에 네 집과 네 조상의 집이 내 앞에 영원히 행하리라 하였으나 이제 나 여호와가 말하노니 결단코 그렇게 하지 아니하리라 나를 존중히 여기는 자를 내가 존중히 여기고 나를 멸시하는 자를 내가 경멸하리라

31 보라 내가 네 팔과 네 조상의 집 팔을 끊어 네 집에 노인이 하나도 없게 하는 날이 이를지라

32 이스라엘에게 모든 복을 내리는 중에 너는 내 처소의 3)환난을 볼 것이요 네 집에 영원토록 노인이 없을 것이며

33 내 제단에서 내가 끊어 버리지 아니할 네 사람이 네 눈을 쇠잔하게 하고 네 마음을 슬프게 할 것이요 네 집에서 출산되는 모든 자가 젊어서 죽으리라

34 네 두 아들 홉니와 비느하스가 한 날에 죽으리니 그 둘이 당할 그 일이 네게 표징이 되리라

35 내가 나를 위하여 충실한 제사장을 일으키리니 그 사람은 내 마음, 내 뜻대로 행할 것이라 내가 그를 위하여 견고한 집을 세우리니 그가 나의 기름 부음을 받은 자 앞에서 영구히 행하리라

36 그리고 네 집에 남은 사람이 각기 와서 은 한 조각과 떡 한 덩이를 위하여 그에게 엎드려 이르되 청하노니 내게 제사장의 직분 하나를 맡겨 내게 떡 조각을 먹게 하소서 하리라 하셨다 하니라

Y Ana oró y dijo:
Mi corazón se regocija en Jehová,
Mi poder se exalta en Jehová;
Mi boca se ensanchó sobre mis enemigos,
Por cuanto me alegré en tu salvación.
No hay santo como Jehová;
Porque no hay ninguno fuera de ti,
Y no hay refugio como el Dios nuestro.
No multipliquéis palabras de grandeza y altanería;
Cesen las palabras arrogantes de vuestra boca;
Porque el Dios de todo saber es Jehová,
Y a él toca el pesar las acciones.
Los arcos de los fuertes fueron quebrados,
Y los débiles se ciñeron de poder.
Los saciados se alquilaron por pan,
Y los hambrientos dejaron de tener hambre;
Hasta la estéril ha dado a luz siete,
Y la que tenía muchos hijos languidece.
Jehová mata, y él da vida;
Él hace descender al Seol, y hace subir.
Jehová empobrece, y él enriquece;
Abate, y enaltece.
Él levanta del polvo al pobre,
Y del muladar exalta al menesteroso,
Para hacerle sentarse con príncipes y heredar un sitio de honor.
Porque de Jehová son las columnas de la tierra,
Y él afirmó sobre ellas el mundo.
Él guarda los pies de sus santos,
Mas los impíos perecen en tinieblas;
Porque nadie será fuerte por su propia fuerza.
Delante de Jehová serán quebrantados sus adversarios,
Y sobre ellos tronará desde los cielos;
Jehová juzgará los confines de la tierra,
Dará poder a su Rey,
Y exaltará el poderío de su Ungido.
Y Elcana se volvió a su casa en Ramá; y el niño ministraba a Jehová delante del sacerdote Elí.

El pecado de los hijos de Elí
Los hijos de Elí eran hombres impíos, y no tenían conocimiento de Jehová.
Y era costumbre de los sacerdotes con el pueblo, que cuando alguno ofrecía sacrificio, venía el criado del sacerdote mientras se cocía la carne, trayendo en su mano un garfio de tres dientes,
y lo metía en el perol, en la olla, en el caldero o en la marmita; y todo lo que sacaba el garfio, el sacerdote lo tomaba para sí. De esta manera hacían con todo israelita que venía a Silo.
Asimismo, antes de quemar la grosura, venía el criado del sacerdote, y decía al que sacrificaba: Da carne que asar para el sacerdote; porque no tomará de ti carne cocida, sino cruda.
Y si el hombre le respondía: Quemen la grosura primero, y después toma tanto como quieras; él respondía: No, sino dámela ahora mismo; de otra manera yo la tomaré por la fuerza.
Era, pues, muy grande delante de Jehová el pecado de los jóvenes; porque los hombres menospreciaban las ofrendas de Jehová.
Y el joven Samuel ministraba en la presencia de Jehová, vestido de un efod de lino.
Y le hacía su madre una túnica pequeña y se la traía cada año, cuando subía con su marido para ofrecer el sacrificio acostumbrado.
Y Elí bendijo a Elcana y a su mujer, diciendo: Jehová te dé hijos de esta mujer en lugar del que pidió a Jehová. Y se volvieron a su casa.
Y visitó Jehová a Ana, y ella concibió, y dio a luz tres hijos y dos hijas. Y el joven Samuel crecía delante de Jehová.
Pero Elí era muy viejo; y oía de todo lo que sus hijos hacían con todo Israel, y cómo dormían con las mujeres que velaban a la puerta del tabernáculo de reunión.
Y les dijo: ¿Por qué hacéis cosas semejantes? Porque yo oigo de todo este pueblo vuestros malos procederes.
No, hijos míos, porque no es buena fama la que yo oigo; pues hacéis pecar al pueblo de Jehová.
Si pecare el hombre contra el hombre, los jueces le juzgarán; mas si alguno pecare contra Jehová, ¿quién rogará por él? Pero ellos no oyeron la voz de su padre, porque Jehová había resuelto hacerlos morir.
Y el joven Samuel iba creciendo, y era acepto delante de Dios y delante de los hombres.
Y vino un varón de Dios a Elí, y le dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová: ¿No me manifesté yo claramente a la casa de tu padre, cuando estaban en Egipto en casa de Faraón?
Y yo le escogí por mi sacerdote entre todas las tribus de Israel, para que ofreciese sobre mi altar, y quemase incienso, y llevase efod delante de mí; y di a la casa de tu padre todas las ofrendas de los hijos de Israel.
¿Por qué habéis hollado mis sacrificios y mis ofrendas, que yo mandé ofrecer en el tabernáculo; y has honrado a tus hijos más que a mí, engordándoos de lo principal de todas las ofrendas de mi pueblo Israel?
Por tanto, Jehová el Dios de Israel dice: Yo había dicho que tu casa y la casa de tu padre andarían delante de mí perpetuamente; mas ahora ha dicho Jehová: Nunca yo tal haga, porque yo honraré a los que me honran, y los que me desprecian serán tenidos en poco.
He aquí, vienen días en que cortaré tu brazo y el brazo de la casa de tu padre, de modo que no haya anciano en tu casa.
Verás tu casa humillada, mientras Dios colma de bienes a Israel; y en ningún tiempo habrá anciano en tu casa.
El varón de los tuyos que yo no corte de mi altar, será para consumir tus ojos y llenar tu alma de dolor; y todos los nacidos en tu casa morirán en la edad viril.
Y te será por señal esto que acontecerá a tus dos hijos, Ofni y Finees: ambos morirán en un día.
Y yo me suscitaré un sacerdote fiel, que haga conforme a mi corazón y a mi alma; y yo le edificaré casa firme, y andará delante de mi ungido todos los días.
Y el que hubiere quedado en tu casa vendrá a postrarse delante de él por una moneda de plata y un bocado de pan, diciéndole: Te ruego que me agregues a alguno de los ministerios, para que pueda comer un bocado de pan.

Hannah’s Prayer

And Hannah prayed and said,
“My heart exults in the Lord;
my horn is exalted in the Lord.
My mouth derides my enemies,
because I rejoice in your salvation.
“There is none holy like the Lord:
for there is none besides you;
there is no rock like our God.
Talk no more so very proudly,
let not arrogance come from your mouth;
for the Lord is a God of knowledge,
and by him actions are weighed.
The bows of the mighty are broken,
but the feeble bind on strength.
Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread,
but those who were hungry have ceased to hunger.
The barren has borne seven,
but she who has many children is forlorn.
The Lord kills and brings to life;
he brings down to Sheol and raises up.
The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
he brings low and he exalts.
He raises up the poor from the dust;
he lifts the needy from the ash heap
to make them sit with princes
and inherit a seat of honor.
For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s,
and on them he has set the world.
“He will guard the feet of his faithful ones,
but the wicked shall be cut off in darkness,
for not by might shall a man prevail.
The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces;
against them he will thunder in heaven.
The Lord will judge the ends of the earth;
he will give strength to his king
and exalt the horn of his anointed.”
Then Elkanah went home to Ramah. And the boy was ministering to the Lord in the presence of Eli the priest.

Eli’s Worthless Sons
Now the sons of Eli were worthless men. They did not know the Lord.
The custom of the priests with the people was that when any man offered sacrifice, the priest’s servant would come, while the meat was boiling, with a three-pronged fork in his hand,
and he would thrust it into the pan or kettle or cauldron or pot. All that the fork brought up the priest would take for himself. This is what they did at Shiloh to all the Israelites who came there.
Moreover, before the fat was burned, the priest’s servant would come and say to the man who was sacrificing, “Give meat for the priest to roast, for he will not accept boiled meat from you but only raw.”
And if the man said to him, “Let them burn the fat first, and then take as much as you wish,” he would say, “No, you must give it now, and if not, I will take it by force.”
Thus the sin of the young men was very great in the sight of the Lord, for the men treated the offering of the Lord with contempt.
Samuel was ministering before the Lord, a boy clothed with a linen ephod.
And his mother used to make for him a little robe and take it to him each year when she went up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.
Then Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, and say, “May the Lord give you children by this woman for the petition she asked of the Lord.” So then they would return to their home.
Indeed the Lord visited Hannah, and she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. And the boy Samuel grew in the presence of the Lord.

Eli Rebukes His Sons
Now Eli was very old, and he kept hearing all that his sons were doing to all Israel, and how they lay with the women who were serving at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
And he said to them, “Why do you do such things? For I hear of your evil dealings from all these people.
No, my sons; it is no good report that I hear the people of the Lord spreading abroad.
If someone sins against a man, God will mediate for him, but if someone sins against the Lord, who can intercede for him?” But they would not listen to the voice of their father, for it was the will of the Lord to put them to death.
Now the boy Samuel continued to grow both in stature and in favor with the Lord and also with man.

The Lord Rejects Eli’s Household
And there came a man of God to Eli and said to him, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Did I indeed reveal myself to the house of your father when they were in Egypt subject to the house of Pharaoh?
Did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? I gave to the house of your father all my offerings by fire from the people of Israel.
Why then do you scorn my sacrifices and my offerings that I commanded for my dwelling, and honor your sons above me by fattening yourselves on the choicest parts of every offering of my people Israel?’
Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I promised that your house and the house of your father should go in and out before me forever,’ but now the Lord declares: ‘Far be it from me, for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
Behold, the days are coming when I will cut off your strength and the strength of your father’s house, so that there will not be an old man in your house.
Then in distress you will look with envious eye on all the prosperity that shall be bestowed on Israel, and there shall not be an old man in your house forever.
The only one of you whom I shall not cut off from my altar shall be spared to weep his eyes out to grieve his heart, and all the descendants of your house shall die by the sword of men.
And this that shall come upon your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, shall be the sign to you: both of them shall die on the same day.
And I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, who shall do according to what is in my heart and in my mind. And I will build him a sure house, and he shall go in and out before my anointed forever.
And everyone who is left in your house shall come to implore him for a piece of silver or a loaf of bread and shall say, “Please put me in one of the priests’ places, that I may eat a morsel of bread.”’”
