제 20 장

히스기야의 발병과 회복(대하 32:24-26; 사 38:1-8, 21-22)

1   그 때에 히스기야가 병들어 죽게 되매 아모스의 아들 선지자 이사야가 그에게 나아와서 그에게 이르되 여호와의 말씀이 너는 집을 정리하라 네가 죽고 살지 못하리라 하셨나이다

2   히스기야가 낯을 벽으로 향하고 여호와께 기도하여 이르되

3   여호와여 구하오니 내가 진실과 전심으로 주 앞에 행하며 주께서 보시기에 선하게 행한 것을 기억하옵소서 하고 히스기야가 심히 통곡하더라

4   이사야가 성읍 가운데까지도 이르기 전에 여호와의 말씀이 그에게 임하여 이르시되

5   너는 돌아가서 내 백성의 주권자 히스기야에게 이르기를 왕의 조상 다윗의 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 내가 네 기도를 들었고 네 눈물을 보았노라 내가 너를 낫게 하리니 네가 삼 일 만에 여호와의 성전에 올라가겠고

6   내가 네 날에 십오 년을 더할 것이며 내가 너와 이 성을 앗수르 왕의 손에서 구원하고 내가 나를 위하고 또 내 종 다윗을 위하므로 이 성을 보호하리라 하셨다 하라 하셨더라

7   이사야가 이르되 무화과 반죽을 가져오라 하매 무리가 가져다가 그 상처에 놓으니 나으니라

8   히스기야가 이사야에게 이르되 여호와께서 나를 낫게 하시고 삼 일 만에 여호와의 성전에 올라가게 하실 무슨 징표가 있나이까 하니

9   이사야가 이르되 여호와께서 하신 말씀을 응하게 하실 일에 대하여 여호와께로부터 왕에게 한 징표가 임하리이다 해 그림자가 십도를 나아갈 것이니이까 혹 십도를 물러갈 것이니이까 하니

10   히스기야가 대답하되 그림자가 십도를 나아가기는 쉬우니 그리할 것이 아니라 십도가 뒤로 물러갈 것이니이다 하니라

11   선지자 이사야가 여호와께 간구하매 아하스의 해시계 위에 나아갔던 해 그림자를 십도 뒤로 물러가게 하셨더라

바벨론에서 온 사자들(사 39:1-8)

12   그 때에 발라단의 아들 바벨론의 왕 브로닥발라단이 히스기야가 병 들었다 함을 듣고 편지와 예물을 그에게 보낸지라

13   히스기야가 사자들의 말을 듣고 자기 보물고의 금은과 향품과 보배로운 기름과 그의 군기고와 창고의 모든 것을 다 사자들에게 보였는데 왕궁과 그의 나라 안에 있는 모든 것 중에서 히스기야가 그에게 보이지 아니한 것이 없더라

14   선지자 이사야가 히스기야 왕에게 나아와 그에게 이르되 이 사람들이 무슨 말을 하였으며 어디서부터 왕에게 왔나이까 히스기야가 이르되 먼 지방 바벨론에서 왔나이다 하니

15   이사야가 이르되 그들이 왕궁에서 무엇을 보았나이까 하니 히스기야가 대답하되 내 궁에 있는 것을 그들이 다 보았나니 나의 창고에서 하나도 보이지 아니한 것이 없나이다 하더라

히스기야가 죽다(대하 32:32-33)

16   이사야가 히스기야에게 이르되 여호와의 말씀을 들으소서

17   여호와의 말씀이 날이 이르리니 왕궁의 모든 것과 왕의 조상들이 오늘까지 쌓아 두었던 것이 바벨론으로 옮긴 바 되고 하나도 남지 아니할 것이요

18   또 왕의 몸에서 날 아들 중에서 사로잡혀 바벨론 왕궁의 환관이 되리라 하셨나이다 하니

19   히스기야가 이사야에게 이르되 당신이 전한 바 여호와의 말씀이 선하니이다 하고 또 이르되 만일 내가 사는 날에 태평과 진실이 있을진대 어찌 선하지 아니하리요 하니라

20   히스기야의 남은 사적과 그의 모든 업적과 저수지와 수도를 만들어 물을 성 안으로 끌어들인 일은 유다 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐

21   히스기야가 그의 조상들과 함께 자고 그의 아들 므낫세가 대신하여 왕이 되니라

Enfermedad de Ezequías

(2 Cr. 32.24-26; Is. 38.1-22)

1. En aquellos días Ezequías cayó enfermo de muerte. Y vino a él el profeta Isaías hijo de Amoz, y le dijo: Jehová dice así: Ordena tu casa, porque morirás, y no vivirás.

2. Entonces él volvió su rostro a la pared, y oró a Jehová y dijo:

3. Te ruego, oh Jehová, te ruego que hagas memoria de que he andado delante de ti en verdad y con íntegro corazón, y que he hecho las cosas que te agradan. Y lloró Ezequías con gran lloro.

4. Y antes que Isaías saliese hasta la mitad del patio, vino palabra de Jehová a Isaías, diciendo:

5. Vuelve, y di a Ezequías, príncipe de mi pueblo: Así dice Jehová, el Dios de David tu padre: Yo he oído tu oración, y he visto tus lágrimas; he aquí que yo te sano; al tercer día subirás a la casa de Jehová.

6. Y añadiré a tus días quince años, y te libraré a ti y a esta ciudad de mano del rey de Asiria; y ampararé esta ciudad por amor a mí mismo, y por amor a David mi siervo.

7. Y dijo Isaías: Tomad masa de higos. Y tomándola, la pusieron sobre la llaga, y sanó.

8. Y Ezequías había dicho a Isaías: ¿Qué señal tendré de que Jehová me sanará, y que subiré a la casa de Jehová al tercer día?

9. Respondió Isaías: Esta señal tendrás de Jehová, de que hará Jehová esto que ha dicho: ¿Avanzará la sombra diez grados, o retrocederá diez grados?

10. Y Ezequías respondió: Fácil cosa es que la sombra decline diez grados; pero no que la sombra vuelva atrás diez grados.

11. Entonces el profeta Isaías clamó a Jehová; e hizo volver la sombra por los grados que había descendido en el reloj de Acaz, diez grados atrás.

    
    

    Ezequías recibe a los enviados de Babilonia

    (2 Cr. 32.27-31; Is. 39.1-8)

12. En aquel tiempo Merodac-baladán hijo de Baladán, rey de Babilonia, envió mensajeros con cartas y presentes a Ezequías, porque había oído que Ezequías había caído enfermo.

13. Y Ezequías los oyó, y les mostró toda la casa de sus tesoros, plata, oro, y especias, y ungüentos preciosos, y la casa de sus armas, y todo lo que había en sus tesoros; ninguna cosa quedó que Ezequías no les mostrase, así en su casa como en todos sus dominios.

14. Entonces el profeta Isaías vino al rey Ezequías, y le dijo: ¿Qué dijeron aquellos varones, y de dónde vinieron a ti? Y Ezequías le respondió: De lejanas tierras han venido, de Babilonia.

15. Y él le volvió a decir: ¿Qué vieron en tu casa? Y Ezequías respondió: Vieron todo lo que había en mi casa; nada quedó en mis tesoros que no les mostrase.

16. Entonces Isaías dijo a Ezequías: Oye palabra de Jehová:

17. He aquí vienen días en que todo lo que está en tu casa, y todo lo que tus padres han atesorado hasta hoy, será llevado a Babilonia, sin quedar nada, dijo Jehová.

18. Y de tus hijos que saldrán de ti, que habrás engendrado, tomarán, y serán eunucos en el palacio del rey de Babilonia.

19. Entonces Ezequías dijo a Isaías: La palabra de Jehová que has hablado, es buena. Después dijo: Habrá al menos paz y seguridad en mis días.

    Muerte de Ezequías

    (2 Cr. 32.32-33)

20. Los demás hechos de Ezequías, y todo su poderío, y cómo hizo el estanque y el conducto, y metió las aguas en la ciudad, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

21. Y durmió Ezequías con sus padres, y reinó en su lugar Manasés su hijo.

Hezekiah’s Illness and Recovery

1. In those days Hezekiah became sick and was at the point of death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die; you shall not recover.’”

2. Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, saying,

3. “Now, O Lord, please remember how I have walked before you in faithfulness and with a whole heart, and have done what is good in your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

4. And before Isaiah had gone out of the middle court, the word of the Lord came to him:

5. “Turn back, and say to Hezekiah the leader of my people, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord,

6. and I will add fifteen years to your life. I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city for my own sake and for my servant David’s sake.”

7. And Isaiah said, “Bring a cake of figs. And let them take and lay it on the boil, that he may recover.”

8. And Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “What shall be the sign that the Lord will heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of the Lord on the third day?”

9. And Isaiah said, “This shall be the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do the thing that he has promised: shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?”

10. And Hezekiah answered, “It is an easy thing for the shadow to lengthen ten steps. Rather let the shadow go back ten steps.”

11. And Isaiah the prophet called to the Lord, and he brought the shadow back ten steps, by which it had gone down on the steps of Ahaz.

    
    

    Hezekiah and the Babylonian Envoys

12. At that time Merodach-baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent envoys with letters and a present to Hezekiah, for he heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

13. And Hezekiah welcomed them, and he showed them all his treasure house, the silver, the gold, the spices, the precious oil, his armory, all that was found in his storehouses. There was nothing in his house or in all his realm that Hezekiah did not show them.

14. Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah, and said to him, “What did these men say? And from where did they come to you?” And Hezekiah said, “They have come from a far country, from Babylon.”

15. He said, “What have they seen in your house?” And Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house; there is nothing in my storehouses that I did not show them.”

16. Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of the Lord:

17. Behold, the days are coming, when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up till this day, shall be carried to Babylon. Nothing shall be left, says the Lord.

18. And some of your own sons, who will come from you, whom you will father, shall be taken away, and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.”

19. Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of the Lord that you have spoken is good.” For he thought, “Why not, if there will be peace and security in my days?”

20. The rest of the deeds of Hezekiah and all his might and how he made the pool and the conduit and brought water into the city, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

21. And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and Manasseh his son reigned in his place.
