제 21 장

나봇의 포도원

1 그 후에 이 일이 있으니라 이스르엘 사람 나봇에게 이스르엘에 포도원이 있어 사마리아의 왕 아합의 왕궁에서 가깝더니

2 아합이 나봇에게 말하여 이르되 네 포도원이 내 왕궁 곁에 가까이 있으니 내게 주어 채소 밭을 삼게 하라 내가 그 대신에 그보다 더 아름다운 포도원을 네게 줄 것이요 만일 네가 좋게 여기면 그 값을 돈으로 네게 주리라

3 나봇이 아합에게 말하되 내 조상의 유산을 왕에게 주기를 여호와께서 금하실지로다 하니

4 이스르엘 사람 나봇이 아합에게 대답하여 이르기를 내 조상의 유산을 왕께 줄 수 없다 하므로 아합이 근심하고 답답하여 왕궁으로 돌아와 침상에 누워 얼굴을 돌리고 식사를 아니하니

5 그의 아내 이세벨이 그에게 나아와 이르되 왕의 마음에 무엇을 근심하여 식사를 아니하나이까

6 왕이 그에게 이르되 내가 이스르엘 사람 나봇에게 말하여 이르기를 네 포도원을 내게 주되 돈으로 바꾸거나 만일 네가 좋아하면 내가 그 대신에 포도원을 네게 주리라 한즉 그가 대답하기를 내가 내 포도원을 네게 주지 아니하겠노라 하기 때문이로다

7 그의 아내 이세벨이 그에게 이르되 왕이 지금 이스라엘 나라를 다스리시나이까 일어나 식사를 하시고 마음을 즐겁게 하소서 내가 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 포도원을 왕께 드리리이다 하고

8 아합의 이름으로 편지들을 쓰고 그 인을 치고 봉하여 그의 성읍에서 나봇과 함께 사는 장로와 귀족들에게 보내니

9 그 편지 사연에 이르기를 금식을 선포하고 나봇을 백성 가운데에 높이 앉힌 후에

10 불량자 두 사람을 그의 앞에 마주 앉히고 그에게 대하여 증거하기를 네가 하나님과 왕을 저주하였다 하게 하고 곧 그를 끌고 나가서 돌로 쳐죽이라 하였더라

11 그의 성읍 사람 곧 그의 성읍에 사는 장로와 귀족들이 이세벨의 지시 곧 그가 자기들에게 보낸 편지에 쓴 대로 하여

12 금식을 선포하고 나봇을 백성 가운데 높이 앉히매

13 때에 불량자 두 사람이 들어와 그의 앞에 앉고 백성 앞에서 나봇에게 대하여 증언을 하여 이르기를 나봇이 하나님과 왕을 저주하였다 하매 무리가 그를 성읍 밖으로 끌고 나가서 돌로 쳐죽이고

14 이세벨에게 통보하기를 나봇이 돌에 맞아 죽었나이다 하니

15 이세벨이 나봇이 돌에 맞아 죽었다 함을 듣고 이세벨이 아합에게 이르되 일어나 그 이스르엘 사람 나봇이 돈으로 바꾸어 주기를 싫어하던 나봇의 포도원을 차지하소서 나봇이 살아 있지 아니하고 죽었나이다

16 아합은 나봇이 죽었다 함을 듣고 곧 일어나 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 포도원을 차지하러 그리로 내려갔더라

17 여호와의 말씀이 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 임하여 이르시되

18 너는 일어나 내려가서 사마리아에 있는 이스라엘의 아합 왕을 만나라 그가 나봇의 포도원을 차지하러 그리로 내려갔나니

19 너는 그에게 말하여 이르기를 여호와의 말씀이 네가 죽이고 또 빼앗았느냐고 하셨다 하고 또 그에게 이르기를 여호와의 말씀이 개들이 나봇의 피를 핥은 곳에서 개들이 네 피 곧 네 몸의 피도 핥으리라 하였다 하라

20 아합이 엘리야에게 이르되 내 대적자여 네가 나를 찾았느냐 대답하되 내가 찾았노라 네가 네 자신을 팔아 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였으므로

21 여호와의 말씀이 내가 재앙을 네게 내려 너를 쓸어 버리되 네게 속한 남자는 이스라엘 가운데에 매인 자나 놓인 자를 다 멸할 것이요

22 또 네 집이 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 집처럼 되게 하고 아히야의 아들 바아사의 집처럼 되게 하리니 이는 네가 나를 노하게 하고 이스라엘이 범죄하게 한 까닭이니라 하셨고

23 이세벨에게 대하여도 여호와께서 말씀하여 이르시되 개들이 이스르엘 성읍 곁에서 이세벨을 먹을지라

24 아합에게 속한 자로서 성읍에서 죽은 자는 개들이 먹고 들에서 죽은 자는 공중의 새가 먹으리라고 하셨느니라 하니

25 예로부터 아합과 같이 그 자신을 팔아 여호와 앞에서 악을 행한 자가 없음은 그를 그의 아내 이세벨이 충동하였음이라

26 그가 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 쫓아내신 아모리 사람의 모든 행함 같이 우상에게 복종하여 심히 가증하게 행하였더라

27 아합이 이 모든 말씀을 들을 때에 그의 옷을 찢고 굵은 베로 몸을 동이고 금식하고 굵은 베에 누우며 또 풀이 죽어 다니더라

28 여호와의 말씀이 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 임하여 이르시되

29 아합이 내 앞에서 겸비함을 네가 보느냐 그가 내 앞에서 겸비하므로 내가 재앙을 저의 시대에는 내리지 아니하고 그 아들의 시대에야 그의 집에 재앙을 내리리라 하셨더라

Pasadas estas cosas, aconteció que Nabot de Jezreel tenía allí una viña junto al palacio de Acab rey de Samaria. 2. Y Acab habló a Nabot, diciendo: Dame tu viña para un huerto de legumbres, porque está cercana a mi casa, y yo te daré por ella otra viña mejor que esta; o si mejor te pareciere, te pagaré su valor en dinero. 3. Y Nabot respondió a Acab: Guárdeme Jehová de que yo te dé a ti la heredad de mis padres. 4. Y vino Acab a su casa triste y enojado, por la palabra que Nabot de Jezreel le había respondido, diciendo: No te daré la heredad de mis padres. Y se acostó en su cama, y volvió su rostro, y no comió. 5. Vino a él su mujer Jezabel, y le dijo: ¿Por qué está tan decaído tu espíritu, y no comes? 6. Él respondió: Porque hablé con Nabot de Jezreel, y le dije que me diera su viña por dinero, o que si más quería, le daría otra viña por ella; y él respondió: Yo no te daré mi viña. 7. Y su mujer Jezabel le dijo: ¿Eres tú ahora rey sobre Israel? Levántate, y come y alégrate; yo te daré la viña de Nabot de Jezreel. 8. Entonces ella escribió cartas en nombre de Acab, y las selló con su anillo, y las envió a los ancianos y a los principales que moraban en la ciudad con Nabot. 9. Y las cartas que escribió decían así: Proclamad ayuno, y poned a Nabot delante del pueblo; 10. y poned a dos hombres perversos delante de él, que atestigüen contra él y digan: Tú has blasfemado a Dios y al rey. Y entonces sacadlo, y apedreadlo para que muera. 11. Y los de su ciudad, los ancianos y los principales que moraban en su ciudad, hicieron como Jezabel les mandó, conforme a lo escrito en las cartas que ella les había enviado. 12. Y promulgaron ayuno, y pusieron a Nabot delante del pueblo. 13. Vinieron entonces dos hombres perversos, y se sentaron delante de él; y aquellos hombres perversos atestiguaron contra Nabot delante del pueblo, diciendo: Nabot ha blasfemado a Dios y al rey. Y lo llevaron fuera de la ciudad y lo apedrearon, y murió. 14. Después enviaron a decir a Jezabel: Nabot ha sido apedreado y ha muerto. 15. Cuando Jezabel oyó que Nabot había sido apedreado y muerto, dijo a Acab: Levántate y toma la viña de Nabot de Jezreel, que no te la quiso dar por dinero; porque Nabot no vive, sino que ha muerto. 16. Y oyendo Acab que Nabot era muerto, se levantó para descender a la viña de Nabot de Jezreel, para tomar posesión de ella. 17. Entonces vino palabra de Jehová a Elías tisbita, diciendo: 18. Levántate, desciende a encontrarte con Acab rey de Israel, que está en Samaria; he aquí él está en la viña de Nabot, a la cual ha descendido para tomar posesión de ella. 19. Y le hablarás diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: ¿No mataste, y también has despojado? Y volverás a hablarle, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: En el mismo lugar donde lamieron los perros la sangre de Nabot, los perros lamerán también tu sangre, tu misma sangre. 20. Y Acab dijo a Elías: ¿Me has hallado, enemigo mío? Él respondió: Te he encontrado, porque te has vendido a hacer lo malo delante de Jehová. 21. He aquí yo traigo mal sobre ti, y barreré tu posteridad y destruiré hasta el último varón de la casa de Acab, tanto el siervo como el libre en Israel. 22. Y pondré tu casa como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y como la casa de Baasa hijo de Ahías, por la rebelión con que me provocaste a ira, y con que has hecho pecar a Israel. 23. De Jezabel también ha hablado Jehová, diciendo: Los perros comerán a Jezabel en el muro de Jezreel. 24. El que de Acab fuere muerto en la ciudad, los perros lo comerán, y el que fuere muerto en el campo, lo comerán las aves del cielo. 25. (A la verdad ninguno fue como Acab, que se vendió para hacer lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová; porque Jezabel su mujer lo incitaba. 26. Él fue en gran manera abominable, caminando en pos de los ídolos, conforme a todo lo que hicieron los amorreos, a los cuales lanzó Jehová de delante de los hijos de Israel.) 27. Y sucedió que cuando Acab oyó estas palabras, rasgó sus vestidos y puso cilicio sobre su carne, ayunó, y durmió en cilicio, y anduvo humillado. 28. Entonces vino palabra de Jehová a Elías tisbita, diciendo: 29. ¿No has visto cómo Acab se ha humillado delante de mí? Pues por cuanto se ha humillado delante de mí, no traeré el mal en sus días; en los días de su hijo traeré el mal sobre su casa. 1 #Kings 21 Naboth’s Vineyard 1. Now Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard in Jezreel, beside the palace of Ahab king of Samaria. 2. And after this Ahab said to Naboth, “Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a vegetable garden, because it is near my house, and I will give you a better vineyard for it; or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its value in money.” 3. But Naboth said to Ahab, “The Lord forbid that I should give you the inheritance of my fathers.” 4. And Ahab went into his house vexed and sullen because of what Naboth the Jezreelite had said to him, for he had said, “I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” And he lay down on his bed and turned away his face and would eat no food. 5. But Jezebel his wife came to him and said to him, “Why is your spirit so vexed that you eat no food?” 6. And he said to her, “Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite and said to him, ‘Give me your vineyard for money, or else, if it please you, I will give you another vineyard for it.’ And he answered, ‘I will not give you my vineyard.’” 7. And Jezebel his wife said to him, “Do you now govern Israel? Arise and eat bread and let your heart be cheerful; I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.” 8. So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name and sealed them with his seal, and she sent the letters to the elders and the leaders who lived with Naboth in his city. 9. And she wrote in the letters, “Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth at the head of the people. 10. And set two worthless men opposite him, and let them bring a charge against him, saying, ‘You have cursed God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death.” 11. And the men of his city, the elders and the leaders who lived in his city, did as Jezebel had sent word to them. As it was written in the letters that she had sent to them, 12. they proclaimed a fast and set Naboth at the head of the people. 13. And the two worthless men came in and sat opposite him. And the worthless men brought a charge against Naboth in the presence of the people, saying, “Naboth cursed God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death with stones. 14. Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, “Naboth has been stoned; he is dead.” 15. As soon as Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, Jezebel said to Ahab, “Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money, for Naboth is not alive, but dead.” 16. And as soon as Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, Ahab arose to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it. The Lord Condemns Ahab 17. Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 18. “Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who is in Samaria; behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone to take possession. 19. And you shall say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord, “Have you killed and also taken possession?”’ And you shall say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: “In the place where dogs licked up the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick your own blood.”’” 20. Ahab said to Elijah, “Have you found me, O my enemy?” He answered, “I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do what is evil in the sight of the Lord. 21. Behold, I will bring disaster upon you. I will utterly burn you up, and will cut off from Ahab every male, bond or free, in Israel. 22. And I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the anger to which you have provoked me, and because you have made Israel to sin. 23. And of Jezebel the Lord also said, ‘The dogs shall eat Jezebel within the walls of Jezreel.’ 24. Anyone belonging to Ahab who dies in the city the dogs shall eat, and anyone of his who dies in the open country the birds of the heavens shall eat.” Ahab’s Repentance 25. (There was none who sold himself to do what was evil in the sight of the Lord like Ahab, whom Jezebel his wife incited. 26. He acted very abominably in going after idols, as the Amorites had done, whom the Lord cast out before the people of Israel.) 27. And when Ahab heard those words, he tore his clothes and put sackcloth on his flesh and fasted and lay in sackcloth and went about dejectedly. 28. And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 29. “Have you seen how Ahab has humbled himself before me? Because he has humbled himself before me, I will not bring the disaster in his days; but in his son’s days I will bring the disaster upon his house.”

Y pondré tu casa como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y como la casa de Baasa hijo de Ahías, por la rebelión con que me provocaste a ira, y con que has hecho pecar a Israel.
De Jezabel también ha hablado Jehová, diciendo: Los perros comerán a Jezabel en el muro de Jezreel.
El que de Acab fuere muerto en la ciudad, los perros lo comerán, y el que fuere muerto en el campo, lo comerán las aves del cielo.
(A la verdad ninguno fue como Acab, que se vendió para hacer lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová; porque Jezabel su mujer lo incitaba.
Él fue en gran manera abominable, caminando en pos de los ídolos, conforme a todo lo que hicieron los amorreos, a los cuales lanzó Jehová de delante de los hijos de Israel.)
Y sucedió que cuando Acab oyó estas palabras, rasgó sus vestidos y puso cilicio sobre su carne, ayunó, y durmió en cilicio, y anduvo humillado.
Entonces vino palabra de Jehová a Elías tisbita, diciendo:
¿No has visto cómo Acab se ha humillado delante de mí? Pues por cuanto se ha humillado delante de mí, no traeré el mal en sus días; en los días de su hijo traeré el mal sobre su casa.

Naboth’s Vineyard

Now Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard in Jezreel, beside the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.
And after this Ahab said to Naboth, “Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a vegetable garden, because it is near my house, and I will give you a better vineyard for it; or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its value in money.”
But Naboth said to Ahab, “The Lord forbid that I should give you the inheritance of my fathers.”
And Ahab went into his house vexed and sullen because of what Naboth the Jezreelite had said to him, for he had said, “I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” And he lay down on his bed and turned away his face and would eat no food.
But Jezebel his wife came to him and said to him, “Why is your spirit so vexed that you eat no food?”
And he said to her, “Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite and said to him, ‘Give me your vineyard for money, or else, if it please you, I will give you another vineyard for it.’ And he answered, ‘I will not give you my vineyard.’”
And Jezebel his wife said to him, “Do you now govern Israel? Arise and eat bread and let your heart be cheerful; I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.”
So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name and sealed them with his seal, and she sent the letters to the elders and the leaders who lived with Naboth in his city.
And she wrote in the letters, “Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth at the head of the people.
And set two worthless men opposite him, and let them bring a charge against him, saying, ‘You have cursed God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death.”
And the men of his city, the elders and the leaders who lived in his city, did as Jezebel had sent word to them. As it was written in the letters that she had sent to them,
they proclaimed a fast and set Naboth at the head of the people.
And the two worthless men came in and sat opposite him. And the worthless men brought a charge against Naboth in the presence of the people, saying, “Naboth cursed God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death with stones.
Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, “Naboth has been stoned; he is dead.”
As soon as Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, Jezebel said to Ahab, “Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money, for Naboth is not alive, but dead.”
And as soon as Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, Ahab arose to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.

The Lord Condemns Ahab
Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
“Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who is in Samaria; behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone to take possession.
And you shall say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord, “Have you killed and also taken possession?”’ And you shall say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: “In the place where dogs licked up the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick your own blood.”’”
Ahab said to Elijah, “Have you found me, O my enemy?” He answered, “I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do what is evil in the sight of the Lord.
Behold, I will bring disaster upon you. I will utterly burn you up, and will cut off from Ahab every male, bond or free, in Israel.
And I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the anger to which you have provoked me, and because you have made Israel to sin.
And of Jezebel the Lord also said, ‘The dogs shall eat Jezebel within the walls of Jezreel.’
Anyone belonging to Ahab who dies in the city the dogs shall eat, and anyone of his who dies in the open country the birds of the heavens shall eat.”

Ahab’s Repentance
(There was none who sold himself to do what was evil in the sight of the Lord like Ahab, whom Jezebel his wife incited.
He acted very abominably in going after idols, as the Amorites had done, whom the Lord cast out before the people of Israel.)
And when Ahab heard those words, he tore his clothes and put sackcloth on his flesh and fasted and lay in sackcloth and went about dejectedly.
And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
“Have you seen how Ahab has humbled himself before me? Because he has humbled himself before me, I will not bring the disaster in his days; but in his son’s days I will bring the disaster upon his house.”
