제 5 장
긍휼을 위한 기도
1 여호와여 우리가 당한 것을 기억하시고 우리가 받은 치욕을 살펴보옵소서
2 우리의 기업이 외인들에게, 우리의 집들도 이방인들에게 돌아갔나이다
3 우리는 아버지 없는 고아들이오며 우리의 어머니는 과부들 같으니
4 우리가 은을 주고 물을 마시며 값을 주고 나무들을 가져오며
5 우리를 뒤쫓는 자들이 우리의 목을 눌렀사오니 우리가 기진하여 쉴 수 없나이다
6 우리가 애굽 사람과 앗수르 사람과 악수하고 양식을 얻어 배불리고자 하였나이다
7 우리의 조상들은 범죄하고 없어졌으며 우리는 그들의 죄악을 담당하였나이다
8 종들이 우리를 지배함이여 그들의 손에서 건져낼 자가 없나이다
9 광야에는 칼이 있으므로 죽기를 무릅써야 양식을 얻사오니
10 굶주림의 열기로 말미암아 우리의 피부가 아궁이처럼 검으니이다
11 대적들이 시온에서 부녀들을, 유다 각 성읍에서 처녀들을 욕보였나이다
12 지도자들은 그들의 손에 매달리고 장로들의 얼굴도 존경을 받지 못하나이다
13 청년들이 맷돌을 지며 아이들이 나무를 지다가 엎드러지오며
14 노인들은 다시 성문에 앉지 못하며 청년들은 다시 노래하지 못하나이다
15 우리의 마음에는 기쁨이 그쳤고 우리의 춤은 변하여 슬픔이 되었사오며
16 우리의 머리에서는 면류관이 떨어졌사오니 오호라 우리의 범죄 때문이니이다
17 이러므로 우리의 마음이 피곤하고 이러므로 우리 눈들이 어두우며
18 시온 산이 황폐하여 여우가 그 안에서 노나이다
19 여호와여 주는 영원히 계시오며 주의 보좌는 대대에 이르나이다
20 주께서 어찌하여 우리를 영원히 잊으시오며 우리를 이같이 오래 버리시나이까
21 여호와여 우리를 주께로 돌이키소서 그리하시면 우리가 주께로 돌아가겠사오니 우리의 날들을 다시 새롭게 하사 옛적 같게 하옵소서
22 1)주께서 우리를 아주 버리셨사오며 우리에게 진노하심이 참으로 크시니이다

Oración del pueblo afligido
1Acuérdate, oh Jehová, de lo que nos ha sucedido; Mira, y ve nuestro oprobio.
2Nuestra heredad ha pasado a extraños, Nuestras casas a forasteros.
3Huérfanos somos sin padre; Nuestras madres son como viudas.
4Nuestra agua bebemos por dinero; Compramos nuestra leña por precio.
5Padecemos persecución sobre nosotros; Nos fatigamos, y no hay para nosotros reposo.
6Al egipcio y al asirio extendimos la mano, para saciarnos de pan.
7Nuestros padres pecaron, y han muerto; Y nosotros llevamos su castigo.
8Siervos se enseñorearon de nosotros; No hubo quien nos librase de su mano.
9Con peligro de nuestras vidas traíamos nuestro pan Ante la espada del desierto.
10Nuestra piel se ennegreció como un horno A causa del ardor del hambre.
11Violaron a las mujeres en Sion, A las vírgenes en las ciudades de Judá.
12A los príncipes colgaron de las manos; No respetaron el rostro de los viejos.
13Llevaron a los jóvenes a moler, Y los muchachos desfallecieron bajo el peso de la leña.
14Los ancianos no se ven más en la puerta, Los jóvenes dejaron sus canciones.
15Cesó el gozo de nuestro corazón; Nuestra danza se cambió en luto.
16Cayó la corona de nuestra cabeza; ¡Ay ahora de nosotros! porque pecamos.
17Por esto fue entristecido nuestro corazón, Por esto se entenebrecieron nuestros ojos,
18Por el monte de Sion que está asolado; Zorras andan por él.
19Mas tú, Jehová, permanecerás para siempre; Tu trono de generación en generación.
20¿Por qué te olvidas completamente de nosotros, Y nos abandonas tan largo tiempo?
21Vuélvenos, oh Jehová, a ti, y nos volveremos; Renueva nuestros días como al principio.
22Porque nos has desechado; Te has airado contra nosotros en gran manera.

Restore Us to Yourself, O Lord
1 Remember, O Lord, what has befallen us;look, and see our disgrace!
2 Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers, our homes to foreigners.
3We have become orphans, fatherless; our mothers are like widows.
4We must pay for the water we drink; the wood we get must be bought.
5 Our pursuers are at our necks; we are weary; we are given no rest.
6We have given the hand to Egypt, and to Assyria, to get bread enough.
7Our fathers sinned, and are no more; and we bear their iniquities.
8 Slaves rule over us; there is none to deliver us from their hand.
9 We get our bread at the peril of our lives, because of the sword in the wilderness.
10 Our skin is hot as an oven with the burning heat of famine.
11Women are raped in Zion, young women in the towns of Judah.
12 Princes are hung up by their hands; no respect is shown to the elders.
13Young men are compelled to grind at the mill, and boys stagger under loads of wood.
14 The old men have left the city gate, the young men their music.
15 The joy of our hearts has ceased; our dancing has been turned to mourning.
16 The crown has fallen from our head; woe to us, for we have sinned!
17For this our heart has become sick, for these things our eyes have grown dim,
18for Mount Zion which lies desolate; jackals prowl over it.
19 But you, O Lord, reign forever; your throne endures to all generations.
20 Why do you forget us forever, why do you forsake us for so many days?
21 Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may be restored! Renew our days as of old—
22 unless you have utterly rejected us, and you remain exceedingly angry with us.
