제 3 장
세례 요한이 천국을 전파하다(막 1:1-8; 눅 3:1-18; 요 1:19-28)
1 그 때에 1)세례 요한이 이르러 유대 광야에서 전파하여 말하되
2 회개하라 천국이 가까이 왔느니라 하였으니
3 그는 선지자 이사야를 통하여 말씀하신 자라 일렀으되 ㄱ)광야에 외치는 자의 소리가 있어 이르되 너희는 주의 길을 준비하라 그가 오실 길을 곧게 하라 하였느니라
4 이 요한은 낙타털 옷을 입고 허리에 가죽 띠를 띠고 음식은 메뚜기와 석청이었더라
5 이 때에 예루살렘과 온 유대와 요단 강 사방에서 다 그에게 나아와
6 자기들의 죄를 자복하고 요단 강에서 그에게 1)세례를 받더니
7 요한이 많은 바리새인들과 사두개인들이 1)세례 베푸는 데로 오는 것을 보고 이르되 독사의 자식들아 누가 너희를 가르쳐 임박한 진노를 피하라 하더냐
8 그러므로 회개에 합당한 열매를 맺고
9 속으로 아브라함이 우리 조상이라고 생각하지 말라 내가 너희에게 이르노니 하나님이 능히 이 돌들로도 아브라함의 자손이 되게 하시리라
10 이미 도끼가 나무 뿌리에 놓였으니 좋은 열매를 맺지 아니하는 나무마다 찍혀 불에 던져지리라
11 나는 너희로 회개하게 하기 위하여 물로 1)세례를 베풀거니와 내 뒤에 오시는 이는 나보다 능력이 많으시니 나는 그의 신을 들기도 감당하지 못하겠노라 그는 성령과 불로 너희에게 1)세례를 베푸실 것이요
12 손에 키를 들고 자기의 타작 마당을 정하게 하사 알곡은 모아 곳간에 들이고 쭉정이는 꺼지지 않는 불에 태우시리라
침례를 받으시다(막 1:9-11; 눅 3:21-22)
13 이 때에 예수께서 갈릴리로부터 요단 강에 이르러 요한에게 1)세례를 받으려 하시니
14 요한이 말려 이르되 내가 당신에게서 1)세례를 받아야 할 터인데 당신이 내게로 오시나이까
15 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 이제 허락하라 우리가 이와 같이 하여 모든 의를 이루는 것이 합당하니라 하시니 이에 요한이 허락하는지라
16 예수께서 1)세례를 받으시고 곧 물에서 올라오실새 하늘이 2)열리고 하나님의 성령이 비둘기 같이 내려 자기 위에 임하심을 보시더니
17 하늘로부터 소리가 있어 말씀하시되 이는 내 사랑하는 아들이요 내 기뻐하는 자라 하시니라
CAPÍTULO 3
Juan el Bautista predica en Judea — Jesús es bautizado, y el Padre proclama que Él es Su Hijo Amado.
1 Y en aquellos días vino aJuan el Bautista predicando en el desierto de Judea,
2 y diciendo: aArrepentíos, porque el breino de los cielos cse ha acercado.
3Porque este es aaquel de quien habló el profeta bIsaías, cuando dijo:cVoz del que clama en el desierto:dPreparad el camino del Señor,enderezad sus sendas.
4 Y Juan estaba vestido de pelo de camello y tenía un cinto de cuero alrededor de sus lomos; y su comida era langostas y miel silvestre.
5 Entonces acudían a él Jerusalén, y toda Judea y toda la provincia de alrededor del Jordán;
6 y eran bautizados por él en el Jordán, aconfesando sus pecados.
7 Y cuando vio él que muchos de los afariseos y de los bsaduceos venían a su cbautismo, les decía: ¡Oh dgeneración de víboras! ¿Quién os ha enseñado a huir de la ira venidera?
8 aHaced, pues, frutos dignos de barrepentimiento,
9 y no penséis decir dentro de vosotros mismos: A Abraham tenemos por padre; porque yo os digo que Dios puede levantar hijos a Abraham aun de estas piedras.
10 Ahora, el hacha ya está puesta a la raíz de los árboles; por tanto, todo árbol que ano da buen fruto es bcortado y echado al fuego.
11 aYo a la verdad os bautizo en agua para arrepentimiento, pero bel que viene tras mí, cuyo calzado yo no soy digno de llevar, es más poderoso que yo; él os bautizará con el cEspíritu Santo y con fuego.
12 Su aaventador está en su mano, y limpiará su bera; y recogerá su trigo en el calfolí y quemará la paja con dfuego que nunca se apagará.
13 Entonces Jesús vino de Galilea al Jordán, a Juan, para ser abautizado por él.
14 Pero Juan se lo impedía, diciendo: Yo necesito ser bautizado por ti, ¿y tú vienes a mí?
15 aPero respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Permítelo ahora, porque así bnos conviene cumplir toda cjusticia. Entonces se lo permitió.
16 Y Jesús, después que fue abautizado, subió inmediatamente del agua; y he aquí, los cielos le fueron abiertos, y vio al bEspíritu de Dios que descendía como cpaloma y se posaba sobre él.
17 Y he aquí, una voz de los cielos que decía: Este es ami bHijo amado, en quien me complazco.
CHAPTER 3
John the Baptist preaches in Judæa—Jesus is baptized, and the Father acclaims Him as His Beloved Son.
1 In those days came aJohn the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judæa,
2 And saying, aRepent ye: for the bkingdom of heaven cis at hand.
3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet aEsaias, saying, The bvoice of one crying in the wilderness, cPrepare ye the way of the Lord, make his dpaths straight.
4 And the same John had his araiment of bcamel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was clocusts and wild honey.
5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judæa, and all the region round about Jordan,
6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, aconfessing their sins.
7 ¶ But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his abaptism, he said unto them, O bgeneration of vipers, who hath cwarned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 aBring forth therefore fruits bmeet for crepentance:
9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham ato our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which abringeth not forth good fruit is bhewn down, and cast into the fire.
11 aI indeed bbaptize you with water unto crepentance: but dhe that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not eworthy to bear: he shall fbaptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with gfire:
12 Whose afan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the bgarner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable cfire.
13 ¶ Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be abaptized of him.
14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
15 aAnd Jesus answering said unto him, bSuffer it to be so now: for thus it cbecometh us to dfulfil all erighteousness. Then he suffered him.
16 And Jesus, when he was abaptized, went up bstraightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the cSpirit of God descending like a ddove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a avoice from heaven, saying, This is my bbeloved cSon, in whom I am well pleased.
