제 23 장
빌라도가 예수께 묻다(마 27:1-2, 11-14; 막 15:1-5; 요 18:28-38)
1 무리가 다 일어나 예수를 빌라도에게 끌고 가서
2 고발하여 이르되 우리가 이 사람을 보매 우리 백성을 미혹하고 가이사에게 세금 바치는 것을 금하며 자칭 왕 그리스도라 하더이다 하니
3 빌라도가 예수께 물어 이르되 네가 유대인의 왕이냐 대답하여 이르시되 네 말이 옳도다
4 빌라도가 대제사장들과 무리에게 이르되 내가 보니 이 사람에게 죄가 없도다 하니
5 무리가 더욱 강하게 말하되 그가 온 유대에서 가르치고 갈릴리에서부터 시작하여 여기까지 와서 백성을 소동하게 하나이다
6 빌라도가 듣고 그가 갈릴리 사람이냐 물어
7 헤롯의 관할에 속한 줄을 알고 헤롯에게 보내니 그 때에 헤롯이 예루살렘에 있더라
헤롯 앞에 서시다
8 헤롯이 예수를 보고 매우 기뻐하니 이는 그의 소문을 들었으므로 보고자 한 지 오래였고 또한 무엇이나 이적 행하심을 볼까 바랐던 연고러라
9 여러 말로 물으나 아무 말도 대답하지 아니하시니
10 대제사장들과 서기관들이 서서 힘써 고발하더라
11 헤롯이 그 군인들과 함께 예수를 업신여기며 희롱하고 빛난 옷을 입혀 빌라도에게 도로 보내니
12 헤롯과 빌라도가 전에는 원수였으나 당일에 서로 친구가 되니라
십자가에 못 박히게 예수를 넘기다(마 27:15-26; 막 15:6-15; 요 18:39-19:16)
13 빌라도가 대제사장들과 관리들과 백성을 불러 모으고
14 이르되 너희가 이 사람이 백성을 미혹하는 자라 하여 내게 끌고 왔도다 보라 내가 너희 앞에서 심문하였으되 너희가 고발하는 일에 대하여 이 사람에게서 죄를 찾지 못하였고
15 헤롯이 또한 그렇게 하여 그를 우리에게 도로 보내었도다 보라 그가 행한 일에는 죽일 일이 없느니라
16 그러므로 때려서 놓겠노라
17 (없음)
18 무리가 일제히 소리 질러 이르되 이 사람을 없이하고 바라바를 우리에게 놓아 주소서 하니
19 이 바라바는 성중에서 일어난 민란과 살인으로 말미암아 옥에 갇힌 자러라
20 빌라도는 예수를 놓고자 하여 다시 그들에게 말하되
21 그들은 소리 질러 이르되 그를 십자가에 못 박게 하소서 십자가에 못 박게 하소서 하는지라
22 빌라도가 세 번째 말하되 이 사람이 무슨 악한 일을 하였느냐 나는 그에게서 죽일 죄를 찾지 못하였나니 때려서 놓으리라 하니
23 그들이 큰 소리로 재촉하여 십자가에 못 박기를 구하니 그들의 소리가 이긴지라
24 이에 빌라도가 그들이 구하는 대로 하기를 언도하고
25 그들이 요구하는 자 곧 민란과 살인으로 말미암아 옥에 갇힌 자를 놓아 주고 예수는 넘겨 주어 그들의 뜻대로 하게 하니라
십자가에 못 박히시다(마 27:32-44; 막 15:21-32; 요 19:17-27)
26 그들이 예수를 끌고 갈 때에 시몬이라는 구레네 사람이 시골에서 오는 것을 붙들어 그에게 십자가를 지워 예수를 따르게 하더라
27 또 백성과 및 그를 위하여 가슴을 치며 슬피 우는 여자의 큰 무리가 따라오는지라
28 예수께서 돌이켜 그들을 향하여 이르시되 예루살렘의 딸들아 나를 위하여 울지 말고 너희와 너희 자녀를 위하여 울라
29 보라 날이 이르면 사람이 말하기를 잉태하지 못하는 이와 해산하지 못한 배와 먹이지 못한 젖이 복이 있다 하리라
30 그 때에 사람이 산들을 대하여 우리 위에 무너지라 하며 작은 산들을 대하여 우리를 덮으라 하리라
31 푸른 나무에도 이같이 하거든 마른 나무에는 어떻게 되리요 하시니라
32 또 다른 두 행악자도 사형을 받게 되어 예수와 함께 끌려 가니라
33 해골이라 하는 곳에 이르러 거기서 예수를 십자가에 못 박고 두 행악자도 그렇게 하니 하나는 우편에, 하나는 좌편에 있더라
34 이에 예수께서 이르시되 아버지 저들을 사하여 주옵소서 자기들이 하는 것을 알지 못함이니이다 하시더라 그들이 그의 옷을 나눠 제비 뽑을새
35 백성은 서서 구경하는데 관리들은 비웃어 이르되 저가 남을 구원하였으니 만일 하나님이 택하신 자 그리스도이면 자신도 구원할지어다 하고
36 군인들도 희롱하면서 나아와 신 포도주를 주며
37 이르되 네가 만일 유대인의 왕이면 네가 너를 구원하라 하더라
38 그의 위에 이는 유대인의 왕이라 쓴 패가 있더라
39 달린 행악자 중 하나는 비방하여 이르되 네가 그리스도가 아니냐 너와 우리를 구원하라 하되
40 하나는 그 사람을 꾸짖어 이르되 네가 동일한 정죄를 받고서도 하나님을 두려워하지 아니하느냐
41 우리는 우리가 행한 일에 상당한 보응을 받는 것이니 이에 당연하거니와 이 사람이 행한 것은 옳지 않은 것이 없느니라 하고
42 이르되 예수여 당신의 나라에 임하실 때에 나를 기억하소서 하니
43 예수께서 이르시되 내가 진실로 네게 이르노니 오늘 네가 나와 함께 낙원에 있으리라 하시니라
숨지시다(마 27:45-56; 막 15:33-41; 요 19:28-30)
44 때가 제육시쯤 되어 해가 빛을 잃고 온 땅에 어둠이 임하여 제구시까지 계속하며
45 성소의 휘장이 한가운데가 찢어지더라
46 예수께서 큰 소리로 불러 이르시되 아버지 내 영혼을 아버지 손에 부탁하나이다 하고 이 말씀을 하신 후 숨지시니라
47 백부장이 그 된 일을 보고 하나님께 영광을 돌려 이르되 이 사람은 정녕 의인이었도다 하고
48 이를 구경하러 모인 무리도 그 된 일을 보고 다 가슴을 치며 돌아가고
49 예수를 아는 자들과 갈릴리로부터 따라온 여자들도 다 멀리 서서 이 일을 보니라
요셉이 예수의 시체를 무덤에 넣어 두다(마 27:57-61; 막 15:42-47; 요 19:38-42)
50 공회 의원으로 선하고 의로운 요셉이라 하는 사람이 있으니
51 (그들의 결의와 행사에 찬성하지 아니한 자라) 그는 유대인의 동네 아리마대 사람이요 하나님의 나라를 기다리는 자라
52 그가 빌라도에게 가서 예수의 시체를 달라 하여
53 이를 내려 세마포로 싸고 아직 사람을 장사한 일이 없는 바위에 판 무덤에 넣어 두니
54 이 날은 준비일이요 안식일이 거의 되었더라
55 갈릴리에서 예수와 함께 온 여자들이 뒤를 따라 그 무덤과 그의 시체를 어떻게 두었는지를 보고
56 돌아가 향품과 향유를 준비하더라
살아나시다(마 28:1-10; 막 16:1-8; 요 20:1-10)
계명을 따라 안식일에 쉬더라
CAPÍTULO 23
Se lleva a Jesús ante Pilato, después ante Herodes y nuevamente ante Pilato — Se pone en libertad a Barrabás — Se crucifica a Jesús entre dos ladrones — Se le sepulta en la tumba de José de Arimatea.
1 Levantándose entonces toda la multitud de ellos, le llevaron a aPilato.
2 Y comenzaron a acusarle, diciendo: A este hemos hallado que pervierte a la nación y que prohíbe dar tributo a aCésar, diciendo que él es el Cristo, un brey.
3 Entonces Pilato le preguntó, diciendo: ¿Eres tú el Rey de los judíos? Y respondiéndole él, dijo: Tú lo dices.
4 Y Pilato dijo a los principales sacerdotes y a la gente: Ninguna culpa hallo en este hombre.
5 Pero ellos porfiaban, diciendo: Alborota al pueblo, enseñando por toda Judea, comenzando desde Galilea hasta aquí.
6 Entonces Pilato, al oír decir Galilea, preguntó si el hombre era galileo.
7 Y al saber que era de la jurisdicción de Herodes, lo remitió a Herodes, que en aquellos días también estaba en Jerusalén.
8 Y Herodes, al ver a Jesús, se alegró mucho, porque hacía mucho tiempo que deseaba verle; porque había oído acerca de él muchas cosas y tenía esperanzas de que le vería hacer algún amilagro.
9 Y le preguntaba con muchas palabras, pero él anada le respondió.
10 Y estaban allí los principales sacerdotes y los aescribas acusándole con gran vehemencia.
11 Entonces Herodes, con sus soldados, le menospreció y le aescarneció, vistiéndole con un manto espléndido; y volvió a enviarle a Pilato.
12 Y se hicieron amigos Pilato y Herodes aquel mismo día, porque antes estaban enemistados entre sí.
13 Entonces Pilato, convocando a los principales sacerdotes, y a los oficiales y al pueblo,
14 les dijo: Me habéis presentado a este como un hombre que desvía al pueblo; y he aquí, habiéndole interrogado yo delante de vosotros, no he hallado culpa alguna en este hombre de lo que le acusáis.
15 Ni tampoco Herodes, porque os remití a él; y he aquí, ninguna cosa digna de muerte ha hecho.
16 Le soltaré, pues, después de castigarle.
17 Y tenía necesidad de asoltarles un preso en cada fiesta.
18 Pero toda la multitud dio voces a una, diciendo: ¡Fuera con ese, y suéltanos a aBarrabás!
19 (Este había sido echado en la cárcel por sedición en la ciudad y por un ahomicidio).
20 Y les habló otra vez Pilato, queriendo soltar a Jesús.
21 Pero ellos volvieron a dar voces, diciendo: ¡aCrucifícale, crucifícale!
22 Y él les dijo por tercera vez: ¿Pues qué mal ha hecho este? aNinguna culpa de muerte he hallado en él; le castigaré, pues, y le soltaré.
23 Mas ellos insistían a grandes voces, pidiendo que fuese acrucificado. Y las voces de ellos y de los principales sacerdotes prevalecieron.
24 Entonces Pilato determinó que se hiciese lo que ellos apedían.
25 Y les soltó a aquel que había sido echado en la cárcel por sedición y ahomicidio, a quien habían pedido; y entregó a Jesús a la voluntad de ellos.
26 Y, al llevarle, tomaron a un tal Simón de Cirene, que venía del campo, y le pusieron encima la cruz para que la llevase tras Jesús.
27 Y le seguía una gran multitud del pueblo, y de mujeres que lloraban y hacían lamentación por él.
28 Mas Jesús, volviéndose hacia ellas, les dijo: Hijas de aJerusalén, no lloréis por mí, sino llorad por vosotras mismas y por vuestros hijos,
29 porque he aquí vendrán días en que dirán: Bienaventuradas las aestériles, y los vientres que no concibieron y los pechos que no criaron.
30 Entonces comenzarán a decir a los amontes: Caed sobre nosotros, y a los collados: Cubridnos,
31 porque si en el aárbol verde hacen estas cosas, ¿en el seco, qué no se bhará?
32 Y llevaban también con él a otros dos, que eran amalhechores, para ser ejecutados.
33 Y cuando llegaron al lugar que se llama de la aCalavera, le crucificaron allí, y a los malhechores, uno a la derecha y otro a la izquierda.
34 Y Jesús decía: Padre, aperdónalos, porque no saben lo que bhacen. Y repartieron entre sí sus cvestidos, echando suertes.
35 Y el pueblo estaba mirando; y aun los gobernantes ase burlaban de él junto con ellos, diciendo: A otros salvó; sálvese a sí mismo, si este es el bMesías, el escogido de Dios.
36 También los soldados se burlaban de él, acercándose y ofreciéndole avinagre,
37 y diciendo: Si tú eres el Rey de los judíos, sálvate a ti mismo.
38 Y había también sobre él un título escrito con letras griegas, y latinas y hebreas: ESTE ES EL aREY DE LOS JUDÍOS.
39 Y uno de los malhechores que estaban colgados ale injuriaba, diciendo: Si tú eres el Cristo, sálvate a ti mismo y a nosotros.
40 Y respondiendo el otro, le reprendió, diciendo: ¿Ni siquiera temes tú a Dios, estando en la misma condenación?
41 Y nosotros, a la verdad, justamente padecemos, porque recibimos alo que merecieron nuestros hechos; pero este ningún mal hizo.
42 Y dijo a Jesús: Acuérdate de mí cuando vengas en tu reino.
43 Entonces Jesús le dijo: De cierto te digo que hoy estarás conmigo en el aparaíso.
44 Y cuando era como la hora sexta, hubo atinieblas sobre toda la btierra hasta la hora novena.
45 Y el sol se oscureció, y el velo del templo se rasgó por en medio.
46 Entonces Jesús, clamando a gran voz, dijo: Padre, en tus manos encomiendo mi aespíritu. Y habiendo dicho esto, bexpiró.
47 Y cuando el acenturión vio lo que había acontecido, dio gloria a Dios, diciendo: Verdaderamente este hombre era justo.
48 Y toda la multitud de los que estaban presentes en este espectáculo, al ver lo que había acontecido, se volvían golpeándose el pecho.
49 Mas todos sus conocidos y las mujeres que le habían seguido desde Galilea estaban mirando desde lejos estas cosas.
50 Y he aquí, había un hombre llamado José que era amiembro del concilio, hombre bueno y justo
51 (quien no había consentido en el consejo ni en los hechos de ellos), de Arimatea, ciudad de Judea, que también esperaba el reino de Dios;
52 este fue a Pilato y le pidió el cuerpo de Jesús.
53 Y bajándolo, lo envolvió en una sábana y lo puso en un asepulcro abierto en una peña, en el cual aún no se había puesto a nadie.
54 Y era día de la apreparación, y estaba para comenzar el día de reposo.
55 Y las mujeres que habían venido con él desde Galilea le siguieron también y vieron el sepulcro y cómo fue puesto su cuerpo.
56 Y regresaron y prepararon especias aromáticas y perfumes; y reposaron el adía de reposo, conforme al mandamiento.
CHAPTER 23
Jesus is taken before Pilate, then to Herod, and then to Pilate again—Barabbas is released—Jesus is crucified between two thieves—He is buried in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathæa.
1 And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate.
2 And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to aCæsar, saying that he himself is Christ a bKing.
3 And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest it.
4 Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no afault in this man.
5 And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place.
6 When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilæan.
7 And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.
8 ¶ And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some amiracle done by him.
9 Then he questioned with him in many words; but he aanswered him nothing.
10 And the chief priests and ascribes stood and vehemently accused him.
11 And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and amocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.
12 ¶ And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves.
13 ¶ And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
14 Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:
15 No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done aunto him.
16 I will therefore chastise him, and release him.
17 (For of necessity he must arelease one unto them at the feast.)
18 And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas:
19 (Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for amurder, was cast into prison.)
20 Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spake again to them.
21 But they cried, saying, aCrucify him, crucify him.
22 And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found ano cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go.
23 And they were ainstant with loud voices, brequiring that he might be ccrucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.
24 And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they arequired.
25 And he released unto them him that for sedition and amurder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will.
26 And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.
27 ¶ And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him.
28 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of aJerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
29 For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the abarren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.
30 Then shall they begin to say to the amountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
31 For if they do these things in a agreen tree, what shall be done in the bdry?
32 And there were also two other, amalefactors, led with him to be put to death.
33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
34 ¶ Then asaid Jesus, Father, bforgive them; for they know not what cthey do. And they parted his draiment, and cast lots.
35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them aderided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the bchosen of God.
36 And the soldiers also amocked him, coming to him, and offering him bvinegar,
37 And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.
38 And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE aKING OF THE bJEWS.
39 ¶ And one of the malefactors which were hanged arailed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due areward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in aparadise.
44 And it was about the asixth hour, and there was a bdarkness over all the cearth until the ninth hour.
45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the amidst.
46 ¶ And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I acommend my bspirit: and having said thus, he cgave up the dghost.
47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a arighteous man.
48 And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.
49 And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.
50 ¶ And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a acounsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:
51 (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathæa, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.
52 This man went unto Pilate, and abegged the body of Jesus.
53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a asepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.
54 And that day was the apreparation, and the sabbath drew on.
55 And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the asepulchre, and how his body was laid.
56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and arested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
