제 7 장

성전 낙성식(왕상 8:62-66)

1   솔로몬이 기도를 마치매 불이 하늘에서부터 내려와서 그 번제물과 제물들을 사르고 여호와의 영광이 그 성전에 가득하니

2   여호와의 영광이 여호와의 전에 가득하므로 제사장들이 여호와의 전으로 능히 들어가지 못하였고

3   이스라엘 모든 자손은 불이 내리는 것과 여호와의 영광이 성전 위에 있는 것을 보고 돌을 깐 땅에 엎드려 경배하며 여호와께 감사하여 이르되 선하시도다 그의 인자하심이 영원하도다 하니라

4   이에 왕과 모든 백성이 여호와 앞에 제사를 드리니

5   솔로몬 왕이 드린 제물이 소가 이만 이천 마리요 양이 십이만 마리라 이와 같이 왕과 모든 백성이 하나님의 전의 낙성식을 행하니라

6   그 때에 제사장들은 직분대로 모셔 서고 레위 사람도 여호와의 악기를 가지고 섰으니 이 악기는 전에 다윗 왕이 레위 사람들에게 여호와께 감사하게 하려고 만들어서 여호와의 인자하심이 영원함을 찬송하게 하던 것이라 제사장들은 무리 앞에서 나팔을 불고 온 이스라엘은 서 있더라

7   솔로몬이 또 여호와의 전 앞뜰 가운데를 거룩하게 하고 거기서 번제물과 화목제의 기름을 드렸으니 이는 솔로몬이 지은 놋 제단이 능히 그 번제물과 소제물과 기름을 용납할 수 없음이더라

8   그 때에 솔로몬이 칠 일 동안 절기를 지켰는데 하맛 어귀에서부터 애굽 강까지의 온 이스라엘의 심히 큰 회중이 모여 그와 함께 하였더니

9   여덟째 날에 무리가 한 성회를 여니라 제단의 낙성식을 칠 일 동안 행한 후 이 절기를 칠 일 동안 지키니라

10   일곱째 달 제이십삼일에 왕이 백성을 그들의 장막으로 돌려보내매 백성이 여호와께서 다윗과 솔로몬과 그의 백성 이스라엘에게 베푸신 은혜로 말미암아 기뻐하며 마음에 즐거워하였더라

여호와께서 다시 솔로몬에게 나타나시다(왕상 9:1-9)

11   솔로몬이 여호와의 전과 왕궁 건축을 마치고 솔로몬의 심중에 여호와의 전과 자기의 궁궐에 그가 이루고자 한 것을 다 형통하게 이루니라

12   밤에 여호와께서 솔로몬에게 나타나사 그에게 이르시되 내가 이미 네 기도를 듣고 이 곳을 택하여 내게 제사하는 성전을 삼았으니

13   혹 내가 하늘을 닫고 비를 내리지 아니하거나 혹 메뚜기들에게 토산을 먹게 하거나 혹 전염병이 내 백성 가운데에 유행하게 할 때에

14   내 이름으로 일컫는 내 백성이 그들의 악한 길에서 떠나 스스로 낮추고 기도하여 내 얼굴을 찾으면 내가 하늘에서 듣고 그들의 죄를 사하고 그들의 땅을 고칠지라

15   이제 이 곳에서 하는 기도에 내가 눈을 들고 귀를 기울이리니

16   이는 내가 이미 이 성전을 택하고 거룩하게 하여 내 이름을 여기에 영원히 있게 하였음이라 내 눈과 내 마음이 항상 여기에 있으리라

17   네가 만일 내 앞에서 행하기를 네 아버지 다윗이 행한 것과 같이 하여 내가 네게 명령한 모든 것을 행하여 내 율례와 법규를 지키면

18   내가 네 나라 왕위를 견고하게 하되 전에 내가 네 아버지 다윗과 언약하기를 이스라엘을 다스릴 자가 네게서 끊어지지 아니하리라 한 대로 하리라

19   그러나 너희가 만일 돌아서서 내가 너희 앞에 둔 내 율례와 명령을 버리고 가서 다른 신들을 섬겨 그들을 경배하면

20   내가 너희에게 준 땅에서 그 뿌리를 뽑아내고 내 이름을 위하여 거룩하게 한 이 성전을 내 앞에서 버려 모든 민족 중에 속담거리와 이야깃거리가 되게 하리니

21   이 성전이 비록 높을지라도 그리로 지나가는 자마다 놀라 이르되 여호와께서 무슨 까닭으로 이 땅과 이 성전에 이같이 행하셨는고 하면

22   대답하기를 그들이 자기 조상들을 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내신 자기 하나님 여호와를 버리고 다른 신들에게 붙잡혀서 그것들을 경배하여 섬기므로 여호와께서 이 모든 재앙을 그들에게 내리셨다 하리라 하셨더라

1Cuando Salomón acabó de orar, descendió fuego de los cielos, y consumió el holocausto y las víctimas; y la gloria de Jehová llenó la casa. 2Y no podían entrar los sacerdotes en la casa de Jehová, porque la gloria de Jehová había llenado la casa de Jehová. 3Cuando vieron todos los hijos de Israel descender el fuego y la gloria de Jehová sobre la casa, se postraron sobre sus rostros en el pavimento y adoraron, y alabaron a Jehová, diciendo: Porque él es bueno, y su misericordia es para siempre.

4Entonces el rey y todo el pueblo sacrificaron víctimas delante de Jehová. 5Y ofreció el rey Salomón en sacrificio veintidós mil bueyes, y ciento veinte mil ovejas; y así dedicaron la casa de Dios el rey y todo el pueblo. 6Y los sacerdotes desempeñaban su ministerio; también los levitas, con los instrumentos de música de Jehová, los cuales había hecho el rey David para alabar a Jehová porque su misericordia es para siempre, cuando David alababa por medio de ellos. Asimismo los sacerdotes tocaban trompetas delante de ellos, y todo Israel estaba en pie.

7También Salomón consagró la parte central del atrio que estaba delante de la casa de Jehová, por cuanto había ofrecido allí los holocaustos, y la grosura de las ofrendas de paz; porque en el altar de bronce que Salomón había hecho no podían caber los holocaustos, las ofrendas y las grosuras.

8Entonces hizo Salomón fiesta siete días, y con él todo Israel, una gran congregación, desde la entrada de Hamat hasta el arroyo de Egipto. 9Al octavo día hicieron solemne asamblea, porque habían hecho la dedicación del altar en siete días, y habían celebrado la fiesta solemne por siete días. 10Y a los veintitrés días del mes séptimo envió al pueblo a sus hogares, alegres y gozosos de corazón por los beneficios que Jehová había hecho a David y a Salomón, y a su pueblo Israel.

Pacto de Dios con Salomón

(1 R. 9.1-9)

11Terminó, pues, Salomón la casa de Jehová, y la casa del rey; y todo lo que Salomón se propuso hacer en la casa de Jehová, y en su propia casa, fue prosperado. 12Y apareció Jehová a Salomón de noche, y le dijo: Yo he oído tu oración, y he elegido para mí este lugar por casa de sacrificio. 13Si yo cerrare los cielos para que no haya lluvia, y si mandare a la langosta que consuma la tierra, o si enviare pestilencia a mi pueblo; 14si se humillare mi pueblo, sobre el cual mi nombre es invocado, y oraren, y buscaren mi rostro, y se convirtieren de sus malos caminos; entonces yo oiré desde los cielos, y perdonaré sus pecados, y sanaré su tierra. 15Ahora estarán abiertos mis ojos y atentos mis oídos a la oración en este lugar; 16porque ahora he elegido y santificado esta casa, para que esté en ella mi nombre para siempre; y mis ojos y mi corazón estarán ahí para siempre. 17Y si tú anduvieres delante de mí como anduvo David tu padre, e hicieres todas las cosas que yo te he mandado, y guardares mis estatutos y mis decretos, 18yo confirmaré el trono de tu reino, como pacté con David tu padre, diciendo: No te faltará varón que gobierne en Israel.

19Mas si vosotros os volviereis, y dejareis mis estatutos y mandamientos que he puesto delante de vosotros, y fuereis y sirviereis a dioses ajenos, y los adorareis, 20yo os arrancaré de mi tierra que os he dado; y esta casa que he santificado a mi nombre, yo la arrojaré de mi presencia, y la pondré por burla y escarnio de todos los pueblos. 21Y esta casa que es tan excelsa, será espanto a todo el que pasare, y dirá: ¿Por qué ha hecho así Jehová a esta tierra y a esta casa? 22Y se responderá: Por cuanto dejaron a Jehová Dios de sus padres, que los sacó de la tierra de Egipto, y han abrazado a dioses ajenos, y los adoraron y sirvieron; por eso él ha traído todo este mal sobre ellos.

Fire from Heaven

1 As soon as Solomon finished his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. 2And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord filled the Lord’s house. 3When all the people of Israel saw the fire come down and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed down with their faces to the ground on the pavement and worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, “For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”

The Dedication of the Temple

4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifice before the Lord. 5King Solomon offered as a sacrifice 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated the house of God. 6The priests stood at their posts; the Levites also, with the instruments for music to the Lord that King David had made for giving thanks to the Lord—for his steadfast love endures forever—whenever David offered praises by their ministry; opposite them the priests sounded trumpets, and all Israel stood.

7 And Solomon consecrated the middle of the court that was before the house of the Lord, for there he offered the burnt offering and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar Solomon had made could not hold the burnt offering and the grain offering and the fat.

8At that time Solomon held the feast for seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from Lebo-hamath to the Brook of Egypt. 9And on the eighth day they held a solemn assembly, for they had kept the dedication of the altar seven days and the feast seven days. 10On the twenty-third day of the seventh month he sent the people away to their homes, joyful and glad of heart for the prosperity that the Lord had granted to David and to Solomon and to Israel his people.

If My People Pray

11 Thus Solomon finished the house of the Lord and the king’s house. All that Solomon had planned to do in the house of the Lord and in his own house he successfully accomplished. 12Then the Lord appeared to Solomon in the night and said to him: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a house of sacrifice. 13When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, 14if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place. 16For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time. 17And as for you, if you will walk before me as David your father walked, doing according to all that I have commanded you and keeping my statutes and my rules, 18then I will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted with David your father, saying, ‘You shall not lack a man to rule Israel.’

19 “But if you turn aside and forsake my statutes and my commandments that I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them, 20then I will pluck you up from my land that I have given you, and this house that I have consecrated for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples. 21And at this house, which was exalted, everyone passing by will be astonished and say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’ 22Then they will say, ‘Because they abandoned the Lord, the God of their fathers who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore he has brought all this disaster on them.’”
