제 33 장

유다 왕 므낫세(왕하 21:1-9)

1   므낫세가 왕위에 오를 때에 나이가 십이 세라 예루살렘에서 오십오 년 동안 다스리며

2   여호와 보시기에 악을 행하여 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 쫓아내신 이방 사람들의 가증한 일을 본받아

3   그의 아버지 히스기야가 헐어 버린 산당을 다시 세우며 바알들을 위하여 제단을 쌓으며 아세라 목상을 만들며 하늘의 모든 일월성신을 경배하여 섬기며

4   여호와께서 전에 이르시기를 내가 내 이름을 예루살렘에 영원히 두리라 하신 여호와의 전에 제단들을 쌓고

5   또 여호와의 전 두 마당에 하늘의 일월성신을 위하여 제단들을 쌓고

6   또 힌놈의 아들 골짜기에서 그의 아들들을 불 가운데로 지나가게 하며 또 점치며 사술과 요술을 행하며 신접한 자와 박수를 신임하여 여호와 보시기에 악을 많이 행하여 여호와를 진노하게 하였으며

7   또 자기가 만든 아로새긴 목상을 하나님의 전에 세웠더라 옛적에 하나님이 이 성전에 대하여 다윗과 그의 아들 솔로몬에게 이르시기를 내가 이스라엘 모든 지파 중에서 택한 이 성전과 예루살렘에 내 이름을 영원히 둘지라

8   만일 이스라엘 사람이 내가 명령한 일들 곧 모세를 통하여 전한 모든 율법과 율례와 규례를 지켜 행하면 내가 그들의 발로 다시는 그의 조상들에게 정하여 준 땅에서 옮기지 않게 하리라 하셨으나

9   유다와 예루살렘 주민이 므낫세의 꾀임을 받고 악을 행한 것이 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 멸하신 모든 나라보다 더욱 심하였더라

므낫세가 기도하다

10   여호와께서 므낫세와 그의 백성에게 이르셨으나 그들이 듣지 아니하므로

11   여호와께서 앗수르 왕의 군대 지휘관들이 와서 치게 하시매 그들이 므낫세를 사로잡고 쇠사슬로 결박하여 바벨론으로 끌고 간지라

12   그가 환난을 당하여 그의 하나님 여호와께 간구하고 그의 조상들의 하나님 앞에 크게 겸손하여

13   기도하였으므로 하나님이 그의 기도를 받으시며 그의 간구를 들으시사 그가 예루살렘에 돌아와서 다시 왕위에 앉게 하시매 므낫세가 그제서야 여호와께서 하나님이신 줄을 알았더라

므낫세가 죽다(왕하 21:17-18)

14   그 후에 다윗 성 밖 기혼 서쪽 골짜기 안에 외성을 쌓되 어문 어귀까지 이르러 오벨을 둘러 매우 높이 쌓고 또 유다 모든 견고한 성읍에 군대 지휘관을 두며

15   이방 신들과 여호와의 전의 우상을 제거하며 여호와의 전을 건축한 산에와 예루살렘에 쌓은 모든 제단들을 다 성 밖에 던지고

16   여호와의 제단을 보수하고 화목제와 감사제를 그 제단 위에 드리고 유다를 명령하여 이스라엘 하나님 여호와를 섬기라 하매

17   백성이 그의 하나님 여호와께만 제사를 드렸으나 아직도 산당에서 제사를 드렸더라

18   므낫세의 남은 사적과 그가 하나님께 한 기도와 선견자가 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 이름으로 권한 말씀은 모두 이스라엘 왕들의 행장에 기록되었고

19   또 그의 기도와 그의 기도를 들으신 것과 그의 모든 죄와 허물과 겸손하기 전에 산당을 세운 곳과 아세라 목상과 우상을 세운 곳들이 다 호새의 사기에 기록되니라

20   므낫세가 그의 열조와 함께 누우매 그의 궁에 장사되고 그의 아들 아몬이 대신하여 왕이 되니라

유다 왕 아몬(왕하 21:19-26)

21   아몬이 왕위에 오를 때에 나이가 이십이 세라 예루살렘에서 이 년 동안 다스리며

22   그의 아버지 므낫세의 행함 같이 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하여 아몬이 그의 아버지 므낫세가 만든 아로새긴 모든 우상에게 제사하여 섬겼으며

23   이 아몬이 그의 아버지 므낫세가 스스로 겸손함 같이 여호와 앞에서 스스로 겸손하지 아니하고 더욱 범죄하더니

24   그의 신하가 반역하여 왕을 궁중에서 죽이매

25   백성들이 아몬 왕을 반역한 사람들을 다 죽이고 그의 아들 요시야를 대신하여 왕으로 삼으니라

Reinado de Manasés

(2 R. 21.1-18)

1De doce años era Manasés cuando comenzó a reinar, y cincuenta y cinco años reinó en Jerusalén. 2Pero hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, conforme a las abominaciones de las naciones que Jehová había echado de delante de los hijos de Israel. 3Porque él reedificó los lugares altos que Ezequías su padre había derribado, y levantó altares a los baales, e hizo imágenes de Asera, y adoró a todo el ejército de los cielos, y les rindió culto. 4Edificó también altares en la casa de Jehová, de la cual había dicho Jehová: En Jerusalén estará mi nombre perpetuamente. 5Edificó asimismo altares a todo el ejército de los cielos en los dos atrios de la casa de Jehová. 6Y pasó sus hijos por fuego en el valle del hijo de Hinom; y observaba los tiempos, miraba en agüeros, era dado a adivinaciones, y consultaba a adivinos y encantadores; se excedió en hacer lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, hasta encender su ira. 7Además de esto puso una imagen fundida que hizo, en la casa de Dios, de la cual había dicho Dios a David y a Salomón su hijo: En esta casa y en Jerusalén, la cual yo elegí sobre todas las tribus de Israel, pondré mi nombre para siempre; 8y nunca más quitaré el pie de Israel de la tierra que yo entregué a vuestros padres, a condición de que guarden y hagan todas las cosas que yo les he mandado, toda la ley, los estatutos y los preceptos, por medio de Moisés. 9Manasés, pues, hizo extraviarse a Judá y a los moradores de Jerusalén, para hacer más mal que las naciones que Jehová destruyó delante de los hijos de Israel.

10Y habló Jehová a Manasés y a su pueblo, mas ellos no escucharon; 11por lo cual Jehová trajo contra ellos los generales del ejército del rey de los asirios, los cuales aprisionaron con grillos a Manasés, y atado con cadenas lo llevaron a Babilonia. 12Mas luego que fue puesto en angustias, oró a Jehová su Dios, humillado grandemente en la presencia del Dios de sus padres. 13Y habiendo orado a él, fue atendido; pues Dios oyó su oración y lo restauró a Jerusalén, a su reino. Entonces reconoció Manasés que Jehová era Dios.

14Después de esto edificó el muro exterior de la ciudad de David, al occidente de Gihón, en el valle, a la entrada de la puerta del Pescado, y amuralló Ofel, y elevó el muro muy alto; y puso capitanes de ejército en todas las ciudades fortificadas de Judá. 15Asimismo quitó los dioses ajenos, y el ídolo de la casa de Jehová, y todos los altares que había edificado en el monte de la casa de Jehová y en Jerusalén, y los echó fuera de la ciudad. 16Reparó luego el altar de Jehová, y sacrificó sobre él sacrificios de ofrendas de paz y de alabanza; y mandó a Judá que sirviesen a Jehová Dios de Israel. 17Pero el pueblo aún sacrificaba en los lugares altos, aunque lo hacía para Jehová su Dios.

18Los demás hechos de Manasés, y su oración a su Dios, y las palabras de los videntes que le hablaron en nombre de Jehová el Dios de Israel, he aquí todo está escrito en las actas de los reyes de Israel. 19Su oración también, y cómo fue oído, todos sus pecados, y su prevaricación, los sitios donde edificó lugares altos y erigió imágenes de Asera e ídolos, antes que se humillase, he aquí estas cosas están escritas en las palabras de los videntes. 20Y durmió Manasés con sus padres, y lo sepultaron en su casa; y reinó en su lugar Amón su hijo.

Reinado de Amón

(2 R. 21.19-26)

21De veintidós años era Amón cuando comenzó a reinar, y dos años reinó en Jerusalén. 22E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, como había hecho Manasés su padre; porque ofreció sacrificios y sirvió a todos los ídolos que su padre Manasés había hecho. 23Pero nunca se humilló delante de Jehová, como se humilló Manasés su padre; antes bien aumentó el pecado. 24Y conspiraron contra él sus siervos, y lo mataron en su casa. 25Mas el pueblo de la tierra mató a todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón; y el pueblo de la tierra puso por rey en su lugar a Josías su hijo.

Manasseh Reigns in Judah

1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. 2And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord drove out before the people of Israel. 3For he rebuilt the high places that his father Hezekiah had broken down, and he erected altars to the Baals, and made Asheroth, and worshiped all the host of heaven and served them. 4And he built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, “In Jerusalem shall my name be forever.” 5And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord. 6And he burned his sons as an offering in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, and used fortune-telling and omens and sorcery, and dealt with mediums and with necromancers. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger. 7And the carved image of the idol that he had made he set in the house of God, of which God said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever, 8and I will no more remove the foot of Israel from the land that I appointed for your fathers, if only they will be careful to do all that I have commanded them, all the law, the statutes, and the rules given through Moses.” 9Manasseh led Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem astray, to do more evil than the nations whom the Lord destroyed before the people of Israel.

Manasseh’s Repentance

10The Lord spoke to Manasseh and to his people, but they paid no attention. 11Therefore the Lord brought upon them the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria, who captured Manasseh with hooks and bound him with chains of bronze and brought him to Babylon. 12And when he was in distress, he entreated the favor of the Lord his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers. 13He prayed to him, and God was moved by his entreaty and heard his plea and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord was God.

14Afterward he built an outer wall for the city of David west of Gihon, in the valley, and for the entrance into the Fish Gate, and carried it around Ophel, and raised it to a very great height. He also put commanders of the army in all the fortified cities in Judah. 15And he took away the foreign gods and the idol from the house of the Lord, and all the altars that he had built on the mountain of the house of the Lord and in Jerusalem, and he threw them outside of the city. 16He also restored the altar of the Lord and offered on it sacrifices of peace offerings and of thanksgiving, and he commanded Judah to serve the Lord, the God of Israel. 17Nevertheless, the people still sacrificed at the high places, but only to the Lord their God.

18Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer to his God, and the words of the seers who spoke to him in the name of the Lord, the God of Israel, behold, they are in the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel. 19And his prayer, and how God was moved by his entreaty, and all his sin and his faithlessness, and the sites on which he built high places and set up the Asherim and the images, before he humbled himself, behold, they are written in the Chronicles of the Seers. 20So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his house, and Amon his son reigned in his place.

Amon’s Reign and Death

21 Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. 22And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, as Manasseh his father had done. Amon sacrificed to all the images that Manasseh his father had made, and served them. 23And he did not humble himself before the Lord, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself, but this Amon incurred guilt more and more. 24And his servants conspired against him and put him to death in his house. 25But the people of the land struck down all those who had conspired against King Amon. And the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.
