제 11 장

다윗이 이스라엘과 유다의 왕이 되다(삼하 5:1-10)

1   온 이스라엘이 헤브론에 모여 다윗을 보고 이르되 우리는 왕의 가까운 혈족이니이다

2   전에 곧 사울이 왕이 되었을 때에도 이스라엘을 거느리고 출입하게 한 자가 왕이시었고 왕의 하나님 여호와께서도 왕에게 말씀하시기를 네가 내 백성 이스라엘의 목자가 되며 내 백성 이스라엘의 주권자가 되리라 하셨나이다 하니라

3   이에 이스라엘의 모든 장로가 헤브론에 있는 왕에게로 나아가니 헤브론에서 다윗이 그들과 여호와 앞에 언약을 맺으매 그들이 다윗에게 기름을 부어 이스라엘의 왕으로 삼으니 여호와께서 사무엘을 통하여 전하신 말씀대로 되었더라

4   다윗이 온 이스라엘과 더불어 예루살렘 곧 여부스에 이르니 여부스 땅의 주민들이 거기에 거주하였더라

5   여부스 원주민이 다윗에게 이르기를 네가 이리로 들어오지 못하리라 하나 다윗이 시온 산 성을 빼앗았으니 이는 다윗 성이더라

6   다윗이 이르되 먼저 여부스 사람을 치는 자는 우두머리와 지휘관으로 삼으리라 하였더니 스루야의 아들 요압이 먼저 올라갔으므로 우두머리가 되었고

7   다윗이 그 산성에 살았으므로 무리가 다윗 성이라 불렀으며

8   다윗이 밀로에서부터 두루 성을 쌓았고 그 성의 나머지는 요압이 중수하였더라

9   만군의 여호와께서 함께 계시니 다윗이 점점 강성하여 가니라

다윗의 용사들(삼하 23:8-39)

10   다윗에게 있는 용사의 우두머리는 이러하니라 이 사람들이 온 이스라엘과 더불어 다윗을 힘껏 도와 나라를 얻게 하고 그를 세워 왕으로 삼았으니 이는 여호와께서 이스라엘에 대하여 이르신 말씀대로 함이었더라

11   다윗에게 있는 용사의 수효가 이러하니라 학몬 사람의 아들 야소브암은 삼십 명의 우두머리라 그가 창을 들어 한꺼번에 삼백 명을 죽였고

12   그 다음은 아호아 사람 도도의 아들 엘르아살이니 세 용사 중 하나이라

13   그가 바스담밈에서 다윗과 함께 있었더니 블레셋 사람들이 그 곳에 모여와서 치니 거기에 보리가 많이 난 밭이 있더라 백성들이 블레셋 사람들 앞에서 도망하되

14   그가 그 밭 가운데에 서서 그 밭을 보호하여 블레셋 사람들을 죽였으니 여호와께서 큰 구원으로 구원하심이었더라

15   삼십 우두머리 중 세 사람이 바위로 내려가서 아둘람 굴 다윗에게 이를 때에 블레셋 군대가 르바임 골짜기에 진 쳤더라

16   그 때에 다윗은 산성에 있고 블레셋 사람들의 진영은 베들레헴에 있는지라

17   다윗이 갈망하여 이르되 베들레헴 성문 곁 우물 물을 누가 내게 마시게 할꼬 하매

18   이 세 사람이 블레셋 사람들의 군대를 돌파하고 지나가서 베들레헴 성문 곁 우물 물을 길어가지고 다윗에게로 왔으나 다윗이 마시기를 기뻐하지 아니하고 그 물을 여호와께 부어드리고

19   이르되 내 하나님이여 내가 결단코 이런 일을 하지 아니하리이다 생명을 돌아보지 아니하고 갔던 이 사람들의 피를 어찌 마시리이까 하고 그들이 자기 생명도 돌보지 아니하고 이것을 가져왔으므로 그것을 마시기를 원하지 아니하니라 세 용사가 이런 일을 행하였더라

20   요압의 아우 아비새는 그 세 명 중 우두머리라 그가 창을 휘둘러 삼백 명을 죽이고 그 세 명 가운데에 이름을 얻었으니

21   그는 둘째 세 명 가운데에 가장 뛰어나 그들의 우두머리가 되었으나 첫째 세 명에게는 미치지 못하니라

22   갑스엘 용사의 손자 여호야다의 아들 브나야는 용감한 사람이라 그가 모압 아리엘의 아들 둘을 죽였고 또 눈 올 때에 함정에 내려가서 사자 한 마리를 죽였으며

23   또 키가 큰 애굽 사람을 죽였는데 그 사람의 키가 다섯 1)규빗이요 그 손에 든 창이 베틀채 같으나 그가 막대기를 가지고 내려가서 그 애굽 사람의 손에서 창을 빼앗아 그 창으로 죽였더라

24   여호야다의 아들 브나야가 이런 일을 행하였으므로 세 용사 중에 이름을 얻고

25   삼십 명 중에서는 뛰어나나 첫째 세 사람에게는 미치지 못하니라 다윗이 그를 세워 시위대장을 삼았더라

26   또 군사 중의 큰 용사는 요압의 아우 아사헬과 베들레헴 사람 도도의 아들 엘하난과

27   하롤 사람 삼훗과 블론 사람 헬레스와

28   드고아 사람 익게스의 아들 이라와 아나돗 사람 아비에셀과

29   후사 사람 십브개와 아호아 사람 일래와

30   느도바 사람 마하래와 느도바 사람 바아나의 아들 헬렛과

31   베냐민 자손에 속한 기브아 사람 리배의 아들 이대와 비라돈 사람 브나야와

32   가아스 시냇가에 사는 후래와 아르바 사람 아비엘과

33   바하룸 사람 아스마웻과 사알본 사람 엘리아바와

34   기손 사람 하셈의 아들들과 하랄 사람 사게의 아들 요나단과

35   하랄 사람 사갈의 아들 아히암과 울의 아들 엘리발과

36   므게랏 사람 헤벨과 블론 사람 아히야와

37   갈멜 사람 헤스로와 에스배의 아들 나아래와

38   나단의 아우 요엘과 하그리의 아들 밉할과

39   암몬 사람 셀렉과 스루야의 아들 요압의 무기 잡은 자 베롯 사람 나하래와

40   이델 사람 이라와 이델 사람 가렙과

41   헷 사람 우리아와 알래의 아들 사밧과

42   르우벤 자손 시사의 아들 곧 르우벤 자손의 우두머리 아디나와 그 추종자 삼십 명과

43   마아가의 아들 하난과 미덴 사람 요사밧과

44   아스드랏 사람 웃시야와 아로엘 사람 호담의 아들 사마와 여이엘과

45   시므리의 아들 여디아엘과 그의 아우 디스 사람 요하와

46   마하위 사람 엘리엘과 엘라암의 아들 여리배와 요사위야와 모압 사람 이드마와

47   엘리엘과 오벳과 므소바 사람 야아시엘이더라

David es proclamado rey de Israel

(2 S. 5.1-5)

1Entonces todo Israel se juntó a David en Hebrón, diciendo: He aquí nosotros somos tu hueso y tu carne. 2También antes de ahora, mientras Saúl reinaba, tú eras quien sacaba a la guerra a Israel, y lo volvía a traer. También Jehová tu Dios te ha dicho: Tú apacentarás a mi pueblo Israel, y tú serás príncipe sobre Israel mi pueblo. 3Y vinieron todos los ancianos de Israel al rey en Hebrón, y David hizo con ellos pacto delante de Jehová; y ungieron a David por rey sobre Israel, conforme a la palabra de Jehová por medio de Samuel.

David toma la fortaleza de Sion

(2 S. 5.6-10)

4Entonces se fue David con todo Israel a Jerusalén, la cual es Jebús; y los jebuseos habitaban en aquella tierra. 5Y los moradores de Jebús dijeron a David: No entrarás acá. Mas David tomó la fortaleza de Sion, que es la ciudad de David. 6Y David había dicho: El que primero derrote a los jebuseos será cabeza y jefe. Entonces Joab hijo de Sarvia subió el primero, y fue hecho jefe. 7Y David habitó en la fortaleza, y por esto la llamaron la Ciudad de David. 8Y edificó la ciudad alrededor, desde Milo hasta el muro; y Joab reparó el resto de la ciudad. 9Y David iba adelantando y creciendo, y Jehová de los ejércitos estaba con él.

Los valientes de David

(2 S. 23.8-39)

10Estos son los principales de los valientes que David tuvo, y los que le ayudaron en su reino, con todo Israel, para hacerle rey sobre Israel, conforme a la palabra de Jehová. 11Y este es el número de los valientes que David tuvo: Jasobeam hijo de Hacmoni, caudillo de los treinta, el cual blandió su lanza una vez contra trescientos, a los cuales mató.

12Tras de este estaba Eleazar hijo de Dodo, ahohíta, el cual era de los tres valientes. 13Este estuvo con David en Pasdamim, estando allí juntos en batalla los filisteos; y había allí una parcela de tierra llena de cebada, y huyendo el pueblo delante de los filisteos, 14se pusieron ellos en medio de la parcela y la defendieron, y vencieron a los filisteos, porque Jehová los favoreció con una gran victoria.

15Y tres de los treinta principales descendieron a la peña a David, a la cueva de Adulam, estando el campamento de los filisteos en el valle de Refaim. 16David estaba entonces en la fortaleza, y había entonces guarnición de los filisteos en Belén. 17David deseó entonces, y dijo: ¡Quién me diera de beber de las aguas del pozo de Belén, que está a la puerta! 18Y aquellos tres rompieron por el campamento de los filisteos, y sacaron agua del pozo de Belén, que está a la puerta, y la tomaron y la trajeron a David; mas él no la quiso beber, sino que la derramó para Jehová, y dijo: 19Guárdeme mi Dios de hacer esto. ¿Había yo de beber la sangre y la vida de estos varones, que con peligro de sus vidas la han traído? Y no la quiso beber. Esto hicieron aquellos tres valientes.

20Y Abisai, hermano de Joab, era jefe de los treinta, el cual blandió su lanza contra trescientos y los mató, y ganó renombre con los tres. 21Fue el más ilustre de los treinta, y fue el jefe de ellos, pero no igualó a los tres primeros.

22Benaía hijo de Joiada, hijo de un varón valiente de Cabseel, de grandes hechos; él venció a los dos leones de Moab; también descendió y mató a un león en medio de un foso, en tiempo de nieve. 23Él mismo venció a un egipcio, hombre de cinco codos de estatura; y el egipcio traía una lanza como un rodillo de tejedor, mas él descendió con un báculo, y arrebató al egipcio la lanza de la mano, y lo mató con su misma lanza. 24Esto hizo Benaía hijo de Joiada, y fue nombrado con los tres valientes. 25Y fue el más distinguido de los treinta, pero no igualó a los tres primeros. A este puso David en su guardia personal.

26Y los valientes de los ejércitos: Asael hermano de Joab, Elhanan hijo de Dodo de Belén, 27Samot harodita, Heles pelonita; 28Ira hijo de Iques tecoíta, Abiezer anatotita, 29Sibecai husatita, Ilai ahohíta, 30Maharai netofatita, Heled hijo de Baana netofatita, 31Itai hijo de Ribai, de Gabaa de los hijos de Benjamín, Benaía piratonita, 32Hurai del río Gaas, Abiel arbatita, 33Azmavet barhumita, Eliaba saalbonita, 34los hijos de Hasem gizonita, Jonatán hijo de Sage ararita, 35Ahíam hijo de Sacar ararita, Elifal hijo de Ur, 36Hefer mequeratita, Ahías pelonita, 37Hezro carmelita, Naarai hijo de Ezbai, 38Joel hermano de Natán, Mibhar hijo de Hagrai, 39Selec amonita, Naharai beerotita, escudero de Joab hijo de Sarvia, 40Ira itrita, Gareb itrita, 41Urías heteo, Zabad hijo de Ahlai, 42Adina hijo de Siza rubenita, príncipe de los rubenitas, y con él treinta, 43Hanán hijo de Maaca, Josafat mitnita, 44Uzías astarotita, Sama y Jehiel hijos de Hotam aroerita; 45Jediael hijo de Simri, y Joha su hermano, tizita, 46Eliel mahavita, Jerebai y Josavía hijos de Elnaam, Itma moabita, 47Eliel, Obed, y Jaasiel mesobaíta.

David Anointed King

1 Then all Israel gathered together to David at Hebron and said, “Behold, we are your bone and flesh. 2In times past, even when Saul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. And the Lord your God said to you, ‘You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over my people Israel.’” 3So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and David made a covenant with them at Hebron before the Lord. And they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord by Samuel.

David Takes Jerusalem

4And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, that is, Jebus, where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land. 5The inhabitants of Jebus said to David, “You will not come in here.” Nevertheless, David took the stronghold of Zion, that is, the city of David. 6David said, “Whoever strikes the Jebusites first shall be chief and commander.” And Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, so he became chief. 7And David lived in the stronghold; therefore it was called the city of David. 8And he built the city all around from the Millo in complete circuit, and Joab repaired the rest of the city. 9And David became greater and greater, for the Lord of hosts was with him.

David’s Mighty Men

10 Now these are the chiefs of David’s mighty men, who gave him strong support in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the Lord concerning Israel. 11This is an account of David’s mighty men: Jashobeam, a Hachmonite, was chief of the three. He wielded his spear against 300 whom he killed at one time.

12And next to him among the three mighty men was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite. 13He was with David at Pas-dammim when the Philistines were gathered there for battle. There was a plot of ground full of barley, and the men fled from the Philistines. 14But he took his stand in the midst of the plot and defended it and killed the Philistines. And the Lord saved them by a great victory.

15Three of the thirty chief men went down to the rock to David at the cave of Adullam, when the army of Philistines was encamped in the Valley of Rephaim. 16David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then at Bethlehem. 17And David said longingly, “Oh that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem that is by the gate!” 18Then the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate and took it and brought it to David. But David would not drink it. He poured it out to the Lord 19and said, “Far be it from me before my God that I should do this. Shall I drink the lifeblood of these men? For at the risk of their lives they brought it.” Therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.

20Now Abishai, the brother of Joab, was chief of the thirty. And he wielded his spear against 300 men and killed them and won a name beside the three. 21He was the most renowned of the thirty and became their commander, but he did not attain to the three.

22And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was a valiant man of Kabzeel, a doer of great deeds. He struck down two heroes of Moab. He also went down and struck down a lion in a pit on a day when snow had fallen. 23And he struck down an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits tall. The Egyptian had in his hand a spear like a weaver’s beam, but Benaiah went down to him with a staff and snatched the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand and killed him with his own spear. 24These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada and won a name beside the three mighty men. 25He was renowned among the thirty, but he did not attain to the three. And David set him over his bodyguard.

26The mighty men were Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem, 27Shammoth of Harod, Helez the Pelonite, 28Ira the son of Ikkesh of Tekoa, Abiezer of Anathoth, 29Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite, 30Maharai of Netophah, Heled the son of Baanah of Netophah, 31Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the people of Benjamin, Benaiah of Pirathon, 32Hurai of the brooks of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite, 33Azmaveth of Baharum, Eliahba the Shaalbonite, 34Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shagee the Hararite, 35Ahiam the son of Sachar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur, 36Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite, 37Hezro of Carmel, Naarai the son of Ezbai, 38Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the son of Hagri, 39Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai of Beeroth, the armor-bearer of Joab the son of Zeruiah, 40Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite, 41Uriah the Hittite, Zabad the son of Ahlai, 42Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite, a leader of the Reubenites, and thirty with him, 43Hanan the son of Maacah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite, 44Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jeiel the sons of Hotham the Aroerite, 45Jediael the son of Shimri, and Joha his brother, the Tizite, 46Eliel the Mahavite, and Jeribai, and Joshaviah, the sons of Elnaam, and Ithmah the Moabite, 47Eliel, and Obed, and Jaasiel the Mezobaite.
