제 20 장

다윗이 랍바를 함락시키다(삼하 12:26-31)

1 해가 바뀌어 왕들이 출전할 때가 되매 요압이 그 군대를 거느리고 나가서 암몬 자손의 땅을 격파하고 들어가 랍바를 에워싸고 다윗은 예루살렘에 그대로 있더니 요압이 랍바를 쳐서 함락시키매

2 다윗이 그 왕의 머리에서 보석 있는 왕관을 빼앗아 중량을 달아보니 금 한 달란트라 그들의 왕관을 자기 머리에 쓰니라 다윗이 또 그 성에서 노략한 물건을 무수히 내오고

3 그 가운데 백성을 끌어내어 톱과 쇠도끼와 돌써래로 일하게 하니라 다윗이 암몬 자손의 모든 성읍을 이같이 하고 다윗이 모든 백성과 함께 예루살렘으로 돌아오니라

블레셋 사람들과 싸우다(삼하 21:15-22)

4 이 후에 블레셋 사람들과 게셀에서 전쟁할 때에 후사 사람 십브개가 키가 큰 자의 아들 중에 십배를 쳐죽이매 그들이 항복하였더라

5 다시 블레셋 사람들과 전쟁할 때에 야일의 아들 엘하난이 가드 사람 골리앗의 아우 라흐미를 죽였는데 이 사람의 창자루는 베틀채 같았더라

6 또 가드에서 전쟁할 때에 그 곳에 키 큰 자 하나는 손과 발에 가락이 여섯씩 모두 스물넷이 있는데 그도 키가 큰 자의 소생이라

7 그가 이스라엘을 능욕하므로 다윗의 형 시므아의 아들 요나단이 그를 죽이니라

8 가드의 키 큰 자의 소생이라도 다윗의 손과 그 신하의 손에 다 죽었더라

David captura a Rabá

(2 S. 12.26-31)

1Aconteció a la vuelta del año, en el tiempo que suelen los reyes salir a la guerra, que Joab sacó las fuerzas del ejército, y destruyó la tierra de los hijos de Amón, y vino y sitió a Rabá. Mas David estaba en Jerusalén; y Joab batió a Rabá, y la destruyó. 2Y tomó David la corona de encima de la cabeza del rey de Rabá, y la halló de peso de un talento de oro, y había en ella piedras preciosas; y fue puesta sobre la cabeza de David. Además de esto sacó de la ciudad muy grande botín. 3Sacó también al pueblo que estaba en ella, y lo puso a trabajar con sierras, con trillos de hierro y con hachas. Lo mismo hizo David a todas las ciudades de los hijos de Amón. Y volvió David con todo el pueblo a Jerusalén.

Los hombres de David matan a los gigantes

(2 S. 21.18-22)

4Después de esto aconteció que se levantó guerra en Gezer contra los filisteos; y Sibecai husatita mató a Sipai, de los descendientes de los gigantes; y fueron humillados. 5Volvió a levantarse guerra contra los filisteos; y Elhanán hijo de Jair mató a Lahmi, hermano de Goliat geteo, el asta de cuya lanza era como un rodillo de telar. 6Y volvió a haber guerra en Gat, donde había un hombre de grande estatura, el cual tenía seis dedos en pies y manos, veinticuatro por todos; y era descendiente de los gigantes. 7Este hombre injurió a Israel, pero lo mató Jonatán, hijo de Simea hermano de David. 8Estos eran descendientes de los gigantes en Gat, los cuales cayeron por mano de David y de sus siervos.

The Capture of Rabbah

1 In the spring of the year, the time when kings go out to battle, Joab led out the army and ravaged the country of the Ammonites and came and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem. And Joab struck down Rabbah and overthrew it. 2And David took the crown of their king from his head. He found that it weighed a talent of gold, and in it was a precious stone. And it was placed on David’s head. And he brought out the spoil of the city, a very great amount. 3And he brought out the people who were in it and set them to labor with saws and iron picks and axes. And thus David did to all the cities of the Ammonites. Then David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

Philistine Giants Killed

4 And after this there arose war with the Philistines at Gezer. Then Sibbecai the Hushathite struck down Sippai, who was one of the descendants of the giants, and the Philistines were subdued. 5And there was again war with the Philistines, and Elhanan the son of Jair struck down Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam. 6And there was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was descended from the giants. 7And when he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea, David’s brother, struck him down. 8These were descended from the giants in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.
