제 5 장

르우벤의 자손

1   이스라엘의 장자 르우벤의 아들들은 이러하니라 (르우벤은 장자라도 그의 아버지의 침상을 더럽혔으므로 장자의 명분이 이스라엘의 아들 요셉의 자손에게로 돌아가서 족보에 장자의 명분대로 기록되지 못하였느니라

2   유다는 형제보다 뛰어나고 주권자가 유다에게서 났으나 장자의 명분은 요셉에게 있으니라)

3   이스라엘의 장자 르우벤의 아들들은 하녹과 발루와 헤스론과 갈미요

4   요엘의 아들은 스마야요 그의 아들은 곡이요 그의 아들은 시므이요

5   그의 아들은 미가요 그의 아들은 르아야요 그의 아들은 바알이요

6   그의 아들은 브에라이니 그는 르우벤 자손의 지도자로서 앗수르 왕 디글랏빌레셀에게 사로잡힌 자라

7   그의 형제가 종족과 계보대로 우두머리 된 자는 여이엘과 스가랴와

8   벨라니 벨라는 아사스의 아들이요 세마의 손자요 요엘의 증손이라 그가 아로엘에 살면서 느보와 바알므온까지 다다랐고

9   또 동으로 가서 거주하면서 유브라데 강에서부터 광야 지경까지 다다랐으니 이는 길르앗 땅에서 그 가축이 번식함이라

10   사울 왕 때에 그들이 하갈 사람과 더불어 싸워 손으로 쳐죽이고 길르앗 동쪽 온 땅에서 장막에 거주하였더라

갓의 자손

11   갓 자손은 르우벤 사람을 마주 대하여 바산 땅에 거주하면서 살르가까지 다다랐으니

12   우두머리는 요엘이요 다음은 사밤이요 또 야내와 바산에 산 사밧이요

13   그 조상의 가문의 형제들은 미가엘과 므술람과 세바와 요래와 야간과 시아와 에벨 일곱 명이니

14   이는 다 아비하일의 아들들이라 아비하일은 후리의 아들이요 야로아의 손자요 길르앗의 증손이요 미가엘의 현손이요 여시새의 오대 손이요 야도의 육대 손이요 부스의 칠대 손이며

15   또 구니의 손자 압디엘의 아들 아히가 우두머리가 되었고

16   그들이 바산 길르앗과 그 마을과 사론의 모든 들에 거주하여 그 사방 변두리에 다다랐더라

17   이상은 유다 왕 요담 때와 이스라엘 왕 여로보암 때에 족보에 기록되었더라

므낫세 반 지파의 용사

18   르우벤 자손과 갓 사람과 므낫세 반 지파에서 나가 싸울 만한 용사 곧 능히 방패와 칼을 들며 활을 당겨 싸움에 익숙한 자는 사만 사천칠백육십 명이라

19   그들이 하갈 사람과 여두르와 나비스와 노답과 싸우는 중에

20   도우심을 입었으므로 하갈 사람과 그들과 함께 있는 자들이 다 그들의 손에 패하였으니 이는 그들이 싸울 때에 하나님께 의뢰하고 부르짖으므로 하나님이 그들에게 응답하셨음이라

21   그들이 대적의 짐승 곧 낙타 오만 마리와 양 이십오만 마리와 나귀 이천 마리를 빼앗으며 사람 십만 명을 사로잡았고

22   죽임을 당한 자가 많았으니 이 싸움이 하나님께로 말미암았음이라 그들이 그들의 땅에 거주하여 사로잡힐 때까지 이르렀더라

므낫세 반 지파의 자손들

23   므낫세 반 지파 자손들이 그 땅에 거주하면서 그들이 번성하여 바산에서부터 바알헤르몬과 스닐과 헤르몬 산까지 다다랐으며

24   그들의 족장은 에벨과 이시와 엘리엘과 아스리엘과 예레미야와 호다위야와 야디엘이며 다 용감하고 유명한 족장이었더라

므낫세 반 지파의 추방

25   그들이 그들의 조상들의 하나님께 범죄하여 하나님이 그들 앞에서 멸하신 그 땅 백성의 신들을 간음하듯 섬긴지라

26   그러므로 이스라엘 하나님이 앗수르 왕 불의 마음을 일으키시며 앗수르 왕 디글랏빌레셀의 마음을 일으키시매 곧 르우벤과 갓과 므낫세 반 지파를 사로잡아 할라와 하볼과 하라와 고산 강 가에 옮긴지라 그들이 오늘까지 거기에 있으니라

Descendientes de Rubén

1Los hijos de Rubén primogénito de Israel (porque él era el primogénito, mas como violó el lecho de su padre, sus derechos de primogenitura fueron dados a los hijos de José, hijo de Israel, y no fue contado por primogénito; 2bien que Judá llegó a ser el mayor sobre sus hermanos, y el príncipe de ellos; mas el derecho de primogenitura fue de José); 3fueron, pues, los hijos de Rubén primogénito de Israel: Hanoc, Falú, Hezrón y Carmi. 4Los hijos de Joel: Semaías su hijo, Gog su hijo, Simei su hijo, 5Micaía su hijo, Reaía su hijo, Baal su hijo, 6Beera su hijo, el cual fue transportado por Tiglat-pileser rey de los asirios. Este era principal de los rubenitas. 7Y sus hermanos por sus familias, cuando eran contados en sus descendencias, tenían por príncipes a Jeiel y a Zacarías. 8Y Bela hijo de Azaz, hijo de Sema, hijo de Joel, habitó en Aroer hasta Nebo y Baal-meón. 9Habitó también desde el oriente hasta la entrada del desierto, desde el río Éufrates; porque tenía mucho ganado en la tierra de Galaad. 10Y en los días de Saúl hicieron guerra contra los agarenos, los cuales cayeron en su mano; y ellos habitaron en sus tiendas en toda la región oriental de Galaad.

Descendientes de Gad

11Y los hijos de Gad habitaron enfrente de ellos en la tierra de Basán hasta Salca. 12Joel fue el principal en Basán; el segundo Safán, luego Jaanai, después Safat. 13Y sus hermanos, según las familias de sus padres, fueron Micael, Mesulam, Seba, Jorai, Jacán, Zía y Heber; por todos siete. 14Estos fueron los hijos de Abihail hijo de Huri, hijo de Jaroa, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Micael, hijo de Jesisai, hijo de Jahdo, hijo de Buz. 15También Ahí hijo de Abdiel, hijo de Guni, fue principal en la casa de sus padres. 16Y habitaron en Galaad, en Basán y en sus aldeas, y en todos los ejidos de Sarón hasta salir de ellos. 17Todos estos fueron contados por sus generaciones en días de Jotam rey de Judá y en días de Jeroboam rey de Israel.

Historia de las dos tribus y media

18Los hijos de Rubén y de Gad, y la media tribu de Manasés, hombres valientes, hombres que traían escudo y espada, que entesaban arco, y diestros en la guerra, eran cuarenta y cuatro mil setecientos sesenta que salían a batalla. 19Estos tuvieron guerra contra los agarenos, y Jetur, Nafis y Nodab. 20Y fueron ayudados contra ellos, y los agarenos y todos los que con ellos estaban se rindieron en sus manos; porque clamaron a Dios en la guerra, y les fue favorable, porque esperaron en él. 21Y tomaron sus ganados, cincuenta mil camellos, doscientas cincuenta mil ovejas y dos mil asnos; y cien mil personas. 22Y cayeron muchos muertos, porque la guerra era de Dios; y habitaron en sus lugares hasta el cautiverio.

23Los hijos de la media tribu de Manasés, multiplicados en gran manera, habitaron en la tierra desde Basán hasta Baal-hermón y Senir y el monte de Hermón. 24Y estos fueron los jefes de las casas de sus padres: Efer, Isi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremías, Hodavías y Jahdiel, hombres valientes y esforzados, varones de nombre y jefes de las casas de sus padres. 25Pero se rebelaron contra el Dios de sus padres, y se prostituyeron siguiendo a los dioses de los pueblos de la tierra, a los cuales Jehová había quitado de delante de ellos; 26por lo cual el Dios de Israel excitó el espíritu de Pul rey de los asirios, y el espíritu de Tiglat-pileser rey de los asirios, el cual transportó a los rubenitas y gaditas y a la media tribu de Manasés, y los llevó a Halah, a Habor, a Hara y al río Gozán, hasta hoy.

Descendants of Reuben

1The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn, but because he defiled his father’s couch, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel, so that he could not be enrolled as the oldest son; 2though Judah became strong among his brothers and a chief came from him, yet the birthright belonged to Joseph), 3the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi. 4The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son, 5Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son, 6Beerah his son, whom Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria carried away into exile; he was a chief of the Reubenites. 7And his kinsmen by their clans, when the genealogy of their generations was recorded: the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah, 8and Bela the son of Azaz, son of Shema, son of Joel, who lived in Aroer, as far as Nebo and Baal-meon. 9He also lived to the east as far as the entrance of the desert this side of the Euphrates, because their livestock had multiplied in the land of Gilead. 10And in the days of Saul they waged war against the Hagrites, who fell into their hand. And they lived in their tents throughout all the region east of Gilead.

Descendants of Gad

11The sons of Gad lived over against them in the land of Bashan as far as Salecah: 12Joel the chief, Shapham the second, Janai, and Shaphat in Bashan. 13And their kinsmen according to their fathers’ houses: Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia and Eber, seven. 14These were the sons of Abihail the son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jeshishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz. 15Ahi the son of Abdiel, son of Guni, was chief in their fathers’ houses, 16and they lived in Gilead, in Bashan and in its towns, and in all the pasturelands of Sharon to their limits. 17All of these were recorded in genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

18The Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh had valiant men who carried shield and sword, and drew the bow, expert in war, 44,760, able to go to war. 19They waged war against the Hagrites, Jetur, Naphish, and Nodab. 20And when they prevailed over them, the Hagrites and all who were with them were given into their hands, for they cried out to God in the battle, and he granted their urgent plea because they trusted in him. 21They carried off their livestock: 50,000 of their camels, 250,000 sheep, 2,000 donkeys, and 100,000 men alive. 22For many fell, because the war was of God. And they lived in their place until the exile.

The Half-Tribe of Manasseh

23The members of the half-tribe of Manasseh lived in the land. They were very numerous from Bashan to Baal-hermon, Senir, and Mount Hermon. 24These were the heads of their fathers’ houses: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty warriors, famous men, heads of their fathers’ houses. 25But they broke faith with the God of their fathers, and whored after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them. 26So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, the spirit of Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and he took them into exile, namely, the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and the river Gozan, to this day.
