제 22 장

유다 왕 요시야(대하 34:1-2)

1 요시야가 왕위에 오를 때에 나이가 팔 세라 예루살렘에서 삼십일 년간 다스리니라 그의 어머니의 이름은 여디다요 보스갓 아다야의 딸이더라

2 요시야가 여호와 보시기에 정직히 행하여 그의 조상 다윗의 모든 길로 행하고 좌우로 치우치지 아니하였더라

율법책을 발견하다(대하 34:8-28)

3 요시야 왕 열여덟째 해에 왕이 므술람의 손자 아살리야의 아들 서기관 사반을 여호와의 성전에 보내며 이르되

4 너는 대제사장 힐기야에게 올라가서 백성이 여호와의 성전에 드린 은 곧 문 지킨 자가 수납한 은을 계산하여

5 여호와의 성전을 맡은 감독자의 손에 넘겨 그들이 여호와의 성전에 있는 작업자에게 주어 성전에 부서진 것을 수리하게 하되

6 곧 목수와 건축자와 미장이에게 주게 하고 또 재목과 다듬은 돌을 사서 그 성전을 수리하게 하라

7 그러나 그들의 손에 맡긴 은을 회계하지 말지니 이는 그들이 진실하게 행함이니라

8 대제사장 힐기야가 서기관 사반에게 이르되 내가 여호와의 성전에서 율법책을 발견하였노라 하고 힐기야가 그 책을 사반에게 주니 사반이 읽으니라

9 서기관 사반이 왕에게 돌아가서 보고하여 이르되 왕의 신복들이 성전에서 찾아낸 돈을 쏟아 여호와의 성전을 맡은 감독자의 손에 맡겼나이다 하고

10 또 서기관 사반이 왕에게 말하여 이르되 제사장 힐기야가 내게 책을 주더이다 하고 사반이 왕의 앞에서 읽으매

11 왕이 율법책의 말을 듣자 곧 그의 옷을 찢으니라

12 왕이 제사장 힐기야와 사반의 아들 아히감과 미가야의 아들 악볼과 서기관 사반과 왕의 시종 아사야에게 명령하여 이르되

13 너희는 가서 나와 백성과 온 유다를 위하여 이 발견한 책의 말씀에 대하여 여호와께 물으라 우리 조상들이 이 책의 말씀을 듣지 아니하며 이 책에 우리를 위하여 기록된 모든 것을 행하지 아니하였으므로 여호와께서 우리에게 내리신 진노가 크도다

14 이에 제사장 힐기야와 또 아히감과 악볼과 사반과 아사야가 여선지 훌다에게로 나아가니 그는 할하스의 손자 디과의 아들로서 예복을 주관하는 살룸의 아내라 예루살렘 둘째 구역에 거주하였더라 그들이 그와 더불어 말하매

15 훌다가 그들에게 이르되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 너희는 너희를 내게 보낸 사람에게 말하기를

16 여호와의 말씀이 내가 이 곳과 그 주민에게 재앙을 내리되 곧 유다 왕이 읽은 책의 모든 말대로 하리니

17 이는 이 백성이 나를 버리고 다른 신에게 분향하며 그들의 손의 모든 행위로 나를 격노하게 하였음이라 그러므로 내가 이 곳을 향하여 내린 진노가 꺼지지 아니하리라 하라 하셨느니라

18 너희를 보내 여호와께 묻게 한 유다 왕에게는 너희가 이렇게 말하라 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와가 이같이 말씀하셨느니라 네가 들은 말들에 대하여는

19 내가 이 곳과 그 주민에게 대하여 빈 터가 되고 저주가 되리라 한 말을 네가 듣고 마음이 부드러워져서 여호와 앞 곧 내 앞에서 겸비하여 옷을 찢고 통곡하였으므로 나도 네 말을 들었노라 여호와가 말하였느니라

20 그러므로 보라 내가 너로 너의 조상들에게 돌아가서 평안히 묘실로 들어가게 하리니 내가 이 곳에 내리는 모든 재앙을 네 눈이 보지 못하리라 하셨느니라 하니 사자들이 왕에게 보고하니라

A los dieciocho años del rey Josías, envió el rey a Safán hijo de Azalía, hijo de Mesulam, escriba, a la casa de Jehová, diciendo: 4. Ve al sumo sacerdote Hilcías, y dile que recoja el dinero que han traído a la casa de Jehová, que han recogido del pueblo los guardianes de la puerta, 5. y que lo pongan en manos de los que hacen la obra, que tienen a su cargo el arreglo de la casa de Jehová, y que lo entreguen a los que hacen la obra de la casa de Jehová, para reparar las grietas de la casa; 6. a los carpinteros, maestros y albañiles, para comprar madera y piedra de cantería para reparar la casa; 7. y que no se les tome cuenta del dinero cuyo manejo se les confiare, porque ellos proceden con honradez. 8. Entonces dijo el sumo sacerdote Hilcías al escriba Safán: He hallado el libro de la ley en la casa de Jehová. E Hilcías dio el libro a Safán, y lo leyó. 9. Viniendo luego el escriba Safán al rey, dio cuenta al rey y dijo: Tus siervos han recogido el dinero que se halló en el templo, y lo han entregado en poder de los que hacen la obra, que tienen a su cargo el arreglo de la casa de Jehová. 10. Asimismo el escriba Safán declaró al rey, diciendo: El sacerdote Hilcías me ha dado un libro. Y lo leyó Safán delante del rey. 11. cuando el rey hubo oído las palabras del libro de la ley, rasgó sus vestidos. 12. Luego el rey dio orden al sacerdote Hilcías, a Ahicam hijo de Safán, a Acbor hijo de Micaías, al escriba Safán y a Asaías siervo del rey, diciendo: 13. Id y preguntad a Jehová por mí, y por el pueblo, y por todo Judá, acerca de las palabras de este libro que se ha hallado; porque grande es la ira de Jehová que se ha encendido contra nosotros, por cuanto nuestros padres no escucharon las palabras de este libro, para hacer conforme a todo lo que nos fue escrito. 14. Así dijo Jehová: He aquí yo traigo sobre este lugar, y sobre los que en él moran, todo el mal de que habla este libro que ha leído el rey de Judá; 17. por cuanto me dejaron a mí, y quemaron incienso a dioses ajenos, provocándome a ira con toda la obra de sus manos; mi ira se ha encendido contra este lugar, y no se apagará. 18. Mas al rey de Judá que os ha enviado para que preguntaseis a Jehová, diréis así: Así ha dicho Jehová el Dios de Israel: Por cuanto oíste las palabras del libro, 19. y tu corazón se enterneció, y te humillaste delante de Jehová, cuando oíste lo que yo he pronunciado contra este lugar y contra sus moradores, que vendrán a ser asolados y malditos, y rasgaste tus vestidos, y lloraste en mi presencia, también yo te he oído, dice Jehová. 20. Por tanto, he aquí yo te recogeré con tus padres, y serás llevado a tu sepulcro en paz, y no verán tus ojos todo el mal que yo traigo sobre este lugar. Y ellos dieron al rey la respuesta. 2 #Kings 22 Josiah Reigns in Judah 1. Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. And let it be given into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of the Lord, and let them give it to the workmen who are at the house of the Lord, repairing the house 6. (that is, to the carpenters, and to the builders, and to the masons), and let them use it for buying timber and quarried stone to repair the house. 7. But no accounting shall be asked from them for the money that is delivered into their hand, for they deal honestly.” Hilkiah Finds the Book of the Law 8. And Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the secretary, “I have found the Book of the Law in the house of the Lord.” And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it. 9. And Shaphan the secretary came to the king, and reported to the king, “Your servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house and have delivered it into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of the Lord.” 10. Then Shaphan the secretary told the king, “Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it before the king. 11. When the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, he tore his clothes. 12. And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Micaiah, and Shaphan the secretary, and Asaiah the king’s servant, saying, 13. “Go, inquire of the Lord for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that has been found. For great is the wrath of the Lord that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book, to do according to all that is written concerning us.” 14. So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she lived in Jerusalem in the Second Quarter), and they talked with her. 15. And she said to them, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: ‘Tell the man who sent you to me, 16. Thus says the Lord, Behold, I will bring disaster upon this place and upon its inhabitants, all the words of the book that the king of Judah has read. 17. Because they have forsaken me and have made offerings to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath will be kindled against this place, and it will not be quenched. 18. But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the Lord, thus shall you say to him, Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Regarding the words that you have heard, 19. because your heart was penitent, and you humbled yourself before the Lord, when you heard how I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and you have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, declares the Lord. 20. Therefore, behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes shall not see all the disaster that I will bring upon this place.’” And they brought back word to the king.

Hallazgo del libro de la ley

Ve al sumo sacerdote Hilcías, y dile que recoja el dinero que han traído a la casa de Jehová, que han recogido del pueblo los guardianes de la puerta,
y que lo pongan en manos de los que hacen la obra, que tienen a su cargo el arreglo de la casa de Jehová, y que lo entreguen a los que hacen la obra de la casa de Jehová, para reparar las grietas de la casa;

Josiah Reigns in Judah

Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.
And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and walked in all the way of David his father, and he did not turn aside to the right or to the left.

Josiah Repairs the Temple
In the eighteenth year of King Josiah, the king sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, son of Meshullam, the secretary, to the house of the Lord, saying,
“Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may count the money that has been brought into the house of the Lord, which the keepers of the threshold have collected from the people.
And let it be given into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of the Lord, and let them give it to the workmen who are at the house of the Lord, repairing the house
