제 9 장

예후가 이스라엘 왕이 되다

1 선지자 엘리사가 선지자의 제자 중 하나를 불러 이르되 너는 허리를 동이고 이 기름병을 손에 가지고 길르앗 라못으로 가라

2 거기에 이르거든 님시의 손자 여호사밧의 아들 예후를 찾아 들어가서 그의 형제 중에서 일어나게 하고 그를 데리고 골방으로 들어가

3 기름병을 가지고 그의 머리에 부으며 이르기를 여호와의 말씀이 내가 네게 기름을 부어 이스라엘 왕으로 삼노라 하셨느니라 하고 곧 문을 열고 도망하되 지체하지 말지니라 하니

4 그 청년 곧 그 선지자의 청년이 길르앗 라못으로 가니라

5 그가 이르러 보니 군대 장관들이 앉아 있는지라 소년이 이르되 장관이여 내가 당신에게 할 말이 있나이다 예후가 이르되 우리 모든 사람 중에 누구에게 하려느냐 하니 이르되 장관이여 당신에게니이다 하는지라

6 예후가 일어나 집으로 들어가니 청년이 그의 머리에 기름을 부으며 그에게 이르되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 내가 네게 기름을 부어 여호와의 백성 곧 이스라엘의 왕으로 삼노니

7 너는 네 주 아합의 집을 치라 내가 나의 종 곧 선지자들의 피와 여호와의 종들의 피를 이세벨에게 갚아 주리라

8 아합의 온 집이 멸망하리니 이스라엘 중에 매인자나 놓인 자나 아합에게 속한 모든 남자는 내가 다 멸절하되

9 아합의 집을 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 집과 같게 하며 또 아히야의 아들 바아사의 집과 같게 할지라

10 이스르엘 지방에서 개들이 이세벨을 먹으리니 그를 장사할 사람이 없으리라 하셨느니라 하고 곧 문을 열고 도망하니라

11 예후가 나와서 그의 주인의 신복들에게 이르니 한 사람이 그에게 묻되 평안하냐 그 미친 자가 무슨 까닭으로 그대에게 왔더냐 대답하되 그대들이 그 사람과 그가 말한 것을 알리라 하더라

12 무리가 이르되 당치 아니한 말이라 청하건대 그대는 우리에게 이르라 하니 대답하되 그가 이리 이리 내게 말하여 이르기를 여호와의 말씀이 내가 네게 기름을 부어 이스라엘 왕으로 삼는다 하셨다 하더라 하는지라

13 무리가 각각 자기의 옷을 급히 가져다가 섬돌 위 곧 예후의 밑에 깔고 나팔을 불며 이르되 예후는 왕이라 하니라

이스라엘 왕 요람이 살해되다

14 이에 님시의 손자 여호사밧의 아들 예후가 요람을 배반하였으니 곧 요람이 온 이스라엘과 더불어 아람의 왕 하사엘과 맞서서 길르앗 라못을 지키다가

15 아람의 왕 하사엘과 더불어 싸울 때에 아람 사람에게 부상한 것을 치료하려 하여 이스르엘로 돌아왔던 때라 예후가 이르되 너희 뜻에 합당하거든 한 사람이라도 이 성에서 도망하여 이스르엘에 알리러 가지 못하게 하라 하니라

16 예후가 병거를 타고 이스르엘로 가니 요람 왕이 거기에 누워 있었음이라 유다의 왕 아하시야는 요람을 보러 내려왔더라

17 이스르엘 망대에 파수꾼 하나가 서 있더니 예후의 무리가 오는 것을 보고 이르되 내가 한 무리를 보나이다 하니 요람이 이르되 한 사람을 말에 태워 보내어 맞이하여 평안하냐 묻게 하라 하는지라

18 한 사람이 말을 타고 가서 만나 이르되 왕의 말씀이 평안하냐 하시더이다 하매 예후가 이르되 평안이 네게 상관이 있느냐 내 뒤로 물러나라 하니라 파수꾼이 전하여 이르되 사자가 그들에게 갔으나 돌아오지 아니하나이다 하는지라

19 다시 한 사람을 말에 태워 보내었더니 그들에게 가서 이르되 왕의 말씀이 평안하냐 하시더이다 하매 예후가 이르되 평안이 네게 상관이 있느냐 내 뒤를 따르라 하더라

20 파수꾼이 또 전하여 이르되 그도 그들에게까지 갔으나 돌아오지 아니하고 그 병거 모는 것이 님시의 손자 예후가 모는 것 같이 미치게 모나이다 하니

21 요람이 이르되 메우라 하매 그의 병거를 메운지라 이스라엘 왕 요람과 유다 왕 아하시야가 각각 그의 병거를 타고 가서 예후를 맞을새 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 토지에서 만나매

22 요람이 예후를 보고 이르되 예후야 평안하냐 하니 대답하되 네 어머니 이세벨의 음행과 술수가 이렇게 많으니 어찌 평안이 있으랴 하더라

23 요람이 곧 손을 돌이켜 도망하며 아하시야에게 이르되 아하시야여 반역이로다 하니

24 예후가 힘을 다하여 활을 당겨 요람의 두 팔 사이를 쏘니 화살이 그의 염통을 꿰뚫고 나오매 그가 병거 가운데에 엎드러진지라

25 예후가 그의 장관 빗갈에게 이르되 그 시체를 가져다가 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 밭에 던지라 네가 기억하려니와 이전에 너와 내가 함께 타고 그의 아버지 아합을 좇았을 때에 여호와께서 이같이 그의 일을 예언하셨느니라

26 여호와께서 말씀하시기를 내가 어제 나봇의 피와 그의 아들들의 피를 분명히 보았노라 여호와께서 또 말씀하시기를 이 토지에서 네게 갚으리라 하셨으니 그런즉 여호와의 말씀대로 그의 시체를 가져다가 이 밭에 던질지니라 하는지라

유다 왕 아하시야가 살해되다

27 유다의 왕 아하시야가 이를 보고 정원의 정자 길로 도망하니 예후가 그 뒤를 쫓아가며 이르되 그도 병거 가운데서 죽이라 하매 이블르암 가까운 구르 비탈에서 치니 그가 므깃도까지 도망하여 거기서 죽은지라

28 그의 신복들이 그를 병거에 싣고 예루살렘에 이르러 다윗 성에서 그들의 조상들과 함께 그의 묘실에 장사하니라

29 아합의 아들 요람의 제십일년에 아하시야가 유다 왕이 되었었더라

이세벨 왕후가 살해되다

30 예후가 이스르엘에 오니 이세벨이 듣고 눈을 그리고 머리를 꾸미고 창에서 바라보다가

31 예후가 문에 들어오매 이르되 주인을 죽인 너 시므리여 평안하냐 하니

32 예후가 얼굴을 들어 창을 향하고 이르되 내 편이 될 자가 누구냐 누구냐 하니 두어 내시가 예후를 내다보는지라

33 이르되 그를 내려던지라 하니 내려던지매 그의 피가 담과 말에게 튀더라 예후가 그의 시체를 밟으니라

34 예후가 들어가서 먹고 마시고 이르되 가서 이 저주 받은 여자를 찾아 장사하라 그는 왕의 딸이니라 하매

35 가서 장사하려 한즉 그 두골과 발과 그의 손 외에는 찾지 못한지라

36 돌아와서 전하니 예후가 이르되 이는 여호와께서 그 종 디셉 사람 엘리야를 통하여 말씀하신 바라 이르시기를 이스르엘 토지에서 개들이 이세벨의 살을 먹을지라

37 그 시체가 이스르엘 토지에서 거름같이 밭에 있으리니 이것이 이세벨이라고 가리켜 말하지 못하게 되리라 하셨느니라 하였더라

Entonces el profeta Eliseo llamó a uno de los hijos de los profetas, y le dijo: Ciñe tus lomos, y toma esta redoma de aceite en tu mano, y ve a Ramot de Galaad. 2. Cuando llegues allá, verás allí a Jehú hijo de Josafat hijo de Nimsi; y entrando, haz que se levante de entre sus hermanos, y llévalo a la cámara. 3. Toma luego la redoma de aceite, y derrámala sobre su cabeza y di: Así dijo Jehová: Yo te he ungido por rey sobre Israel. Y abriendo la puerta, echa a huir, y no esperes. 4. Fue, pues, el joven, el profeta, a Ramot de Galaad. 5. Cuando él entró, he aquí los príncipes del ejército que estaban sentados. Y él dijo: Príncipe, una palabra tengo que decirte. Jehú dijo: ¿A cuál de todos nosotros? Y él dijo: A ti, príncipe. 6. Y él se levantó, y entró en casa; y el otro derramó el aceite sobre su cabeza, y le dijo: Así dijo Jehová Dios de Israel: Yo te he ungido por rey sobre Israel, pueblo de Jehová. 7. Herirás la casa de Acab tu señor, para que yo vengue la sangre de mis siervos los profetas, y la sangre de todos los siervos de Jehová, de la mano de Jezabel. 8. Y perecerá toda la casa de Acab, y destruiré de Acab todo varón, así al siervo como al libre en Israel. 9. Y yo pondré la casa de Acab como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y como la casa de Baasa hijo de Ahías. 10. Y a Jezabel la comerán los perros en el campo de Jezreel, y no habrá quien la sepulte. En seguida abrió la puerta, y echó a huir. 11. Después salió Jehú a los siervos de su señor, y le dijeron: ¿Hay paz? ¿Para qué vino a ti aquel loco? Entonces cada uno tomó apresuradamente su manto, y lo puso debajo de Jehú en un trono alto, y tocaron corneta, y dijeron: Jehú es rey. Jehú mata a Joram 14. Así conspiró Jehú hijo de Josafat, hijo de Nimsi, contra Joram. (Estaba entonces Joram guardando a Ramot de Galaad con todo Israel, por causa de Hazael rey de Siria; 15. pero se había vuelto el rey Joram a Jezreel, para curarse de las heridas que los sirios le habían hecho, peleando contra Hazael rey de Siria.) Y Jehú dijo: Si es vuestra voluntad, ninguno escape de la ciudad, para ir a dar las nuevas en Jezreel. 16. Entonces Jehú cabalgó y fue a Jezreel, porque Joram estaba allí enfermo. También estaba Ocozías rey de Judá, que había descendido a visitar a Joram. 17. Y el atalaya que estaba en la torre de Jezreel vio la tropa de Jehú que venía, y dijo: Veo una tropa. Y Joram dijo: Ordena a un jinete que vaya a reconocerlos, y les diga: ¿Hay paz? 18. Fue, pues, el jinete a reconocerlos, y dijo: El rey dice así: ¿Hay paz? Y Jehú le dijo: ¿Qué tienes tú que ver con la paz? Vuélvete conmigo. El atalaya dio luego aviso, diciendo: El mensajero llegó hasta ellos, y no vuelve. 19. Entonces envió otro jinete, el cual llegando a ellos, dijo: El rey dice así: ¿Hay paz? Y Jehú respondió: ¿Qué tienes tú que ver con la paz? Vuélvete conmigo. 20. El atalaya volvió a decir: También este llegó a ellos y no vuelve; y el marchar del que viene es como el marchar de Jehú hijo de Nimsi, porque viene impetuosamente. 21. Entonces Joram dijo: Unce el carro. Y cuando estaba uncido su carro, salieron Joram rey de Israel y Ocozías rey de Judá, cada uno en su carro, y salieron a encontrar a Jehú, al cual hallaron en la heredad de Nabot de Jezreel. 22. Cuando vio Joram a Jehú, dijo: ¿Hay paz, Jehú? Y él respondió: ¿Qué paz, con las fornicaciones de Jezabel tu madre, y sus muchas hechicerías? 23. Entonces Joram volvió las riendas y huyó, y dijo a Ocozías: ¡Traición, Ocozías! 24. Pero Jehú entesó su arco, e hirió a Joram entre las espaldas; y la saeta salió por su corazón, y él cayó en su carro. 25. Dijo luego Jehú a Bidcar su capitán: Tómalo, y échalo a un extremo de la heredad de Nabot de Jezreel. Acuérdate que cuando tú y yo íbamos juntos con la gente de Acab su padre, Jehová pronunció esta sentencia sobre él, diciendo: 26. Que yo he visto ayer la sangre de Nabot, y la sangre de sus hijos, dijo Jehová; y te daré la paga en esta heredad, dijo Jehová. Tómalo pues, ahora, y échalo en la heredad de Nabot, conforme a la palabra de Jehová. Jehú mata a Ocozías (2 Cr. 22.7-9) 27. Viendo esto Ocozías rey de Judá, huyó por el camino de la casa del huerto. Y lo siguió Jehú, diciendo: Herid también a este en el carro. Y le hirieron a la subida de Gur, junto a Ibleam. Y Ocozías huyó a Meguido, pero murió allí. 28. Y sus siervos le llevaron en un carro a Jerusalén, y allá le sepultaron con sus padres, en su sepulcro en la ciudad de David. 29. En el undécimo año de Joram hijo de Acab, comenzó a reinar Ocozías sobre Judá. Muerte de Jezabel 30. Vino después Jehú a Jezreel; y cuando Jezabel lo oyó, se pintó los ojos con antimonio, y atavió su cabeza, y se asomó a una ventana. 31. Y cuando entraba Jehú por la puerta, ella dijo: ¿Sucedió bien a Zimri, que mató a su señor? 32. Alzando él entonces su rostro hacia la ventana, dijo: ¿Quién está conmigo? ¿quién? Y se inclinaron hacia él dos o tres eunucos. 33. Y él les dijo: Echadla abajo. Y ellos la echaron; y parte de su sangre salpicó en la pared, y en los caballos; y él la atropelló. 34. Entró luego, y después que comió y bebió, dijo: Id ahora a ver a aquella maldita, y sepultadla, pues es hija de rey. 35. Pero cuando fueron para sepultarla, no hallaron de ella más que la calavera, y los pies, y las palmas de las manos. 36. Y volvieron, y se lo dijeron. Y él dijo: Esta es la palabra de Dios, la cual él habló por medio de su siervo Elías tisbita, diciendo: En la heredad de Jezreel comerán los perros las carnes de Jezabel, 37. y el cuerpo de Jezabel será como estiércol sobre la faz de la tierra en la heredad de Jezreel, de manera que nadie pueda decir: Esta es Jezabel. 2 #Kings 9 Jehu Anointed King of Israel 1. Then Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, “Tie up your garments, and take this flask of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead. 2. And when you arrive, look there for Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi. And go in and have him rise from among his fellows, and lead him to an inner chamber. 3. Then take the flask of oil and pour it on his head and say, ‘Thus says the Lord, I anoint you king over Israel.’ Then open the door and flee; do not linger.” 4. So the young man, the servant of the prophet, went to Ramoth-gilead. 5. And when he came, behold, the commanders of the army were in council. And he said, “I have a word for you, O commander.” And Jehu said, “To which of us all?” And he said, “To you, O commander.” 6. So he arose and went into the house. And the young man poured the oil on his head, saying to him, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, I anoint you king over the people of the Lord, over Israel. 7. And you shall strike down the house of Ahab your master, so that I may avenge on Jezebel the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the Lord. 8. For the whole house of Ahab shall perish, and I will cut off from Ahab every male, bond or free, in Israel. 9. And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah. 10. And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the territory of Jezreel, and none shall bury her.” Then he opened the door and fled. 11. When Jehu came out to the servants of his master, they said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” And he said to them, “You know the fellow and his talk.” 12. And they said, “That is not true; tell us now.” And he said, “Thus and so he spoke to me, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord, I anoint you king over Israel.’” 13. Then in haste every man of them took his garment and put it under him on the bare steps, and they blew the trumpet and proclaimed, “Jehu is king.” Jehu Assassinates Joram and Ahaziah 14. Thus Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram with all Israel had been on guard at Ramoth-gilead against Hazael king of Syria, 15. but King Joram had returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds that the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) So Jehu said, “If this is your decision, then let no one slip out of the city to go and tell the news in Jezreel.” 16. Then Jehu mounted his chariot and went to Jezreel, for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to visit Joram. 17. Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he saw the company of Jehu as he came and said, “I see a company.” And Joram said, “Take a horseman and send to meet them, and let him say, ‘Is it peace?’” 18. So a man on horseback went to meet him and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” And Jehu said, “What do you have to do with peace? Turn around and ride behind me.” And the watchman reported, saying, “The messenger reached them, but he is not coming back.” 19. Then he sent out a second horseman, who came to them and said, “Thus the king has said, ‘Is it peace?’” And Jehu answered, “What do you have to do with peace? Turn around and ride behind me.” 20. Again the watchman reported, “He reached them, but he is not coming back. And the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously.” 21. Joram said, “Make ready.” And they made ready his chariot. Then Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah set out, each in his chariot, and went to meet Jehu, and met him at the property of Naboth the Jezreelite. 22. And when Joram saw Jehu, he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace can there be, so long as the whorings and the sorceries of your mother Jezebel are so many?” 23. Then Joram reined about and fled, saying to Ahaziah, “Treachery, O Ahaziah!” 24. And Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and shot Joram between the shoulders, so that the arrow pierced his heart, and he sank in his chariot. 25. Jehu said to Bidkar his aide, “Take him up and throw him on the plot of ground belonging to Naboth the Jezreelite. For remember, when you and I rode side by side behind Ahab his father, how the Lord made this pronouncement against him: 26. ‘As surely as I saw yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons—declares the Lord—I will repay you on this plot of ground.’ Now therefore take him up and throw him on the plot of ground, in accordance with the word of the Lord.” 27. When Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled in the direction of Beth-haggan. And Jehu pursued him and said, “Shoot him also.” And they shot him in the chariot at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo and died there. 28. His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David. 29. In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab, Ahaziah began to reign over Judah. Jehu Executes Jezebel 30. When Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it. And she painted her eyes and adorned her head and looked out of the window. 31. And as Jehu entered the gate, she said, “Is it peace, you Zimri, murderer of your master?” 32. And he lifted up his face to the window and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked out at him. 33. He said, “Throw her down.” So they threw her down. And some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses, and they trampled on her. 34. Then he went in and ate and drank. And he said, “See now to this cursed woman and bury her, for she is a king’s daughter.” 35. But when they went to bury her, they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands. 36. When they came back and told him, he said, “This is the word of the Lord, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite: ‘In the territory of Jezreel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel, 37. and the corpse of Jezebel shall be as dung on the face of the field in the territory of Jezreel, so that no one can say, This is Jezebel.’”

Jehú es ungido rey de Israel

Entonces el profeta Eliseo llamó a uno de los hijos de los profetas, y le dijo: Ciñe tus lomos, y toma esta redoma de aceite en tu mano, y ve a Ramot de Galaad.
Cuando llegues allá, verás allí a Jehú hijo de Josafat hijo de Nimsi; y entrando, haz que se levante de entre sus hermanos, y llévalo a la cámara.
Toma luego la redoma de aceite, y derrámala sobre su cabeza y di: Así dijo Jehová: Yo te he ungido por rey sobre Israel. Y abriendo la puerta, echa a huir, y no esperes.
Fue, pues, el joven, el profeta, a Ramot de Galaad.
Cuando él entró, he aquí los príncipes del ejército que estaban sentados. Y él dijo: Príncipe, una palabra tengo que decirte. Jehú dijo: ¿A cuál de todos nosotros? Y él dijo: A ti, príncipe.
Y él se levantó, y entró en casa; y el otro derramó el aceite sobre su cabeza, y le dijo: Así dijo Jehová Dios de Israel: Yo te he ungido por rey sobre Israel, pueblo de Jehová.
Herirás la casa de Acab tu señor, para que yo vengue la sangre de mis siervos los profetas, y la sangre de todos los siervos de Jehová, de la mano de Jezabel.
Y perecerá toda la casa de Acab, y destruiré de Acab todo varón, así al siervo como al libre en Israel.
Y yo pondré la casa de Acab como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y como la casa de Baasa hijo de Ahías.
Y a Jezabel la comerán los perros en el campo de Jezreel, y no habrá quien la sepulte. En seguida abrió la puerta, y echó a huir.
Después salió Jehú a los siervos de su señor, y le dijeron: ¿Hay paz? ¿Para qué vino a ti aquel loco? Y él les dijo: Vosotros conocéis al hombre y sus palabras.
Ellos dijeron: Mentira; decláranoslo ahora. Y él dijo: Así y así me habló, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: Yo te he ungido por rey sobre Israel.
Entonces cada uno tomó apresuradamente su manto, y lo puso debajo de Jehú en un trono alto, y tocaron corneta, y dijeron: Jehú es rey.

Jehú mata a Joram
Así conspiró Jehú hijo de Josafat, hijo de Nimsi, contra Joram. (Estaba entonces Joram guardando a Ramot de Galaad con todo Israel, por causa de Hazael rey de Siria;
pero se había vuelto el rey Joram a Jezreel, para curarse de las heridas que los sirios le habían hecho, peleando contra Hazael rey de Siria.) Y Jehú dijo: Si es vuestra voluntad, ninguno escape de la ciudad, para ir a dar las nuevas en Jezreel.
Entonces Jehú cabalgó y fue a Jezreel, porque Joram estaba allí enfermo. También estaba Ocozías rey de Judá, que había descendido a visitar a Joram.
Y el atalaya que estaba en la torre de Jezreel vio la tropa de Jehú que venía, y dijo: Veo una tropa. Y Joram dijo: Ordena a un jinete que vaya a reconocerlos, y les diga: ¿Hay paz?
Fue, pues, el jinete a reconocerlos, y dijo: El rey dice así: ¿Hay paz? Y Jehú le dijo: ¿Qué tienes tú que ver con la paz? Vuélvete conmigo. El atalaya dio luego aviso, diciendo: El mensajero llegó hasta ellos, y no vuelve.
Entonces envió otro jinete, el cual llegando a ellos, dijo: El rey dice así: ¿Hay paz? Y Jehú respondió: ¿Qué tienes tú que ver con la paz? Vuélvete conmigo.
El atalaya volvió a decir: También este llegó a ellos y no vuelve; y el marchar del que viene es como el marchar de Jehú hijo de Nimsi, porque viene impetuosamente.
Entonces Joram dijo: Unce el carro. Y cuando estaba uncido su carro, salieron Joram rey de Israel y Ocozías rey de Judá, cada uno en su carro, y salieron a encontrar a Jehú, al cual hallaron en la heredad de Nabot de Jezreel.
Cuando vio Joram a Jehú, dijo: ¿Hay paz, Jehú? Y él respondió: ¿Qué paz, con las fornicaciones de Jezabel tu madre, y sus muchas hechicerías?
Entonces Joram volvió las riendas y huyó, y dijo a Ocozías: ¡Traición, Ocozías!
Pero Jehú entesó su arco, e hirió a Joram entre las espaldas; y la saeta salió por su corazón, y él cayó en su carro.
Dijo luego Jehú a Bidcar su capitán: Tómalo, y échalo a un extremo de la heredad de Nabot de Jezreel. Acuérdate que cuando tú y yo íbamos juntos con la gente de Acab su padre, Jehová pronunció esta sentencia sobre él, diciendo:
Que yo he visto ayer la sangre de Nabot, y la sangre de sus hijos, dijo Jehová; y te daré la paga en esta heredad, dijo Jehová. Tómalo pues, ahora, y échalo en la heredad de Nabot, conforme a la palabra de Jehová.

Jehú mata a Ocozías
(2 Cr. 22.7-9)
Viendo esto Ocozías rey de Judá, huyó por el camino de la casa del huerto. Y lo siguió Jehú, diciendo: Herid también a este en el carro. Y le hirieron a la subida de Gur, junto a Ibleam. Y Ocozías huyó a Meguido, pero murió allí.
Y sus siervos le llevaron en un carro a Jerusalén, y allá le sepultaron con sus padres, en su sepulcro en la ciudad de David.
En el undécimo año de Joram hijo de Acab, comenzó a reinar Ocozías sobre Judá.

Muerte de Jezabel
Vino después Jehú a Jezreel; y cuando Jezabel lo oyó, se pintó los ojos con antimonio, y atavió su cabeza, y se asomó a una ventana.
Y cuando entraba Jehú por la puerta, ella dijo: ¿Sucedió bien a Zimri, que mató a su señor?
Alzando él entonces su rostro hacia la ventana, dijo: ¿Quién está conmigo? ¿quién? Y se inclinaron hacia él dos o tres eunucos.
Y él les dijo: Echadla abajo. Y ellos la echaron; y parte de su sangre salpicó en la pared, y en los caballos; y él la atropelló.
Entró luego, y después que comió y bebió, dijo: Id ahora a ver a aquella maldita, y sepultadla, pues es hija de rey.
Pero cuando fueron para sepultarla, no hallaron de ella más que la calavera, y los pies, y las palmas de las manos.
Y volvieron, y se lo dijeron. Y él dijo: Esta es la palabra de Dios, la cual él habló por medio de su siervo Elías tisbita, diciendo: En la heredad de Jezreel comerán los perros las carnes de Jezabel,
y el cuerpo de Jezabel será como estiércol sobre la faz de la tierra en la heredad de Jezreel, de manera que nadie pueda decir: Esta es Jezabel.

Jehu Anointed King of Israel

Then Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, “Tie up your garments, and take this flask of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead.
And when you arrive, look there for Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi. And go in and have him rise from among his fellows, and lead him to an inner chamber.
Then take the flask of oil and pour it on his head and say, ‘Thus says the Lord, I anoint you king over Israel.’ Then open the door and flee; do not linger.”
So the young man, the servant of the prophet, went to Ramoth-gilead.
And when he came, behold, the commanders of the army were in council. And he said, “I have a word for you, O commander.” And Jehu said, “To which of us all?” And he said, “To you, O commander.”
So he arose and went into the house. And the young man poured the oil on his head, saying to him, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, I anoint you king over the people of the Lord, over Israel.
And you shall strike down the house of Ahab your master, so that I may avenge on Jezebel the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the Lord.
For the whole house of Ahab shall perish, and I will cut off from Ahab every male, bond or free, in Israel.
And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.
And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the territory of Jezreel, and none shall bury her.” Then he opened the door and fled.
When Jehu came out to the servants of his master, they said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” And he said to them, “You know the fellow and his talk.”
And they said, “That is not true; tell us now.” And he said, “Thus and so he spoke to me, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord, I anoint you king over Israel.’”
