제 9 장

여호와께서 다시 솔로몬에게 나타나시다

1 솔로몬이 여호와의 성전과 왕궁 건축하기를 마치며 자기가 이루기를 원하던 모든 것을 마친 때에

2 여호와께서 전에 기브온에서 나타나심 같이 다시 솔로몬에게 나타나사

3 여호와께서 그에게 이르시되 네 기도와 네가 내 앞에서 간구한 바를 내가 들었은즉 나는 네가 건축한 이 성전을 거룩하게 구별하여 내 이름을 영원히 그 곳에 두며 내 눈길과 내 마음이 항상 거기에 있으리니

4 네가 만일 네 아버지 다윗이 행함 같이 마음을 온전히 하고 바르게 하여 내 앞에서 행하며 내가 네게 명령한 대로 온갖 일에 순종하여 내 법도와 율례를 지키면

5 내가 네 아버지 다윗에게 말하기를 이스라엘의 왕위에 오를 사람이 네게서 끊어지지 아니하리라 한 대로 네 이스라엘의 왕위를 영원히 견고하게 하려니와

6 만일 너희나 너희의 자손이 아주 돌아서서 나를 따르지 아니하며 내가 너희 앞에 둔 나의 계명과 법도를 지키지 아니하고 가서 다른 신을 섬겨 그것을 경배하면

7 내가 이스라엘을 내가 그들에게 준 땅에서 끊어 버릴 것이요 내 이름을 위하여 내가 거룩하게 구별한 이 성전이라도 내 앞에서 던져버리리니 이스라엘은 모든 민족 가운데에서 속담거리와 이야기거리가 될 것이며

8 이 성전이 높을지라도 지나가는 자마다 놀라며 비웃어 이르되 여호와께서 무슨 까닭으로 이 땅과 이 성전에 이같이 행하셨는고 하면

9 대답하기를 그들이 그들의 조상들을 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내신 그들의 하나님 여호와를 버리고 다른 신을 따라가서 그를 경배하여 섬기므로 여호와께서 이 모든 재앙을 그들에게 내리심이라 하리라 하셨더라

솔로몬과 히람의 거래(대하 8:1-2)

10 솔로몬이 두 집 곧 여호와의 성전과 왕궁을 이십 년 만에 건축하기를 마치고

11 갈릴리 땅의 성읍 스무 곳을 히람에게 주었으니 이는 두로 왕 히람이 솔로몬에게 그 온갖 소원대로 백향목과 잣나무와 금을 제공하였음이라

12 히람이 두로에서 와서 솔로몬이 자기에게 준 성읍들을 보고 눈에 들지 아니하여

13 이르기를 내 형제여 내게 준 이 성읍들이 이러한가 하고 이름하여 가불 땅이라 하였더니 그 이름이 오늘까지 있느니라

14 히람이 금 일백이십 달란트를 왕에게 보내었더라

솔로몬의 나머지 업적(대하 8:3-18)

15 솔로몬 왕이 역군을 일으킨 까닭은 이러하니 여호와의 성전과 자기 왕궁과 밀로와 예루살렘 성과 하솔과 므깃도와 게셀을 건축하려 하였음이라

16 전에 애굽 왕 바로가 올라와서 게셀을 탈취하여 불사르고 그 성읍에 사는 가나안 사람을 죽이고 그 성읍을 자기 딸 솔로몬의 아내에게 예물로 주었더니

17 솔로몬이 게셀과 아래 벧호론을 건축하고

18 또 바알랏과 그 땅의 들에 있는 다드몰과

19 자기에게 있는 모든 국고성과 병거성들과 마병의 성들을 건축하고 솔로몬이 또 예루살렘과 레바논과 그가 다스리는 온 땅에 건축하고자 하던 것을 다 건축하였는데

20 이스라엘 자손이 아닌 아모리 사람과 헷 사람과 브리스 사람과 히위 사람과 여부스 사람 중 남아 있는 모든 사람

21 곧 이스라엘 자손이 다 멸하지 못하므로 그 땅에 남아 있는 그들의 자손들을 솔로몬이 노예로 역군을 삼아 오늘까지 이르렀으되

22 다만 이스라엘 자손은 솔로몬이 노예를 삼지 아니하였으니 그들은 군사와 그 신하와 고관과 대장이며 병거와 마병의 지휘관이 됨이었더라

23 솔로몬에게 일을 감독하는 우두머리 오백오십 명이 있어 일하는 백성을 다스렸더라

24 바로의 딸이 다윗 성에서부터 올라와 솔로몬이 그를 위하여 건축한 궁에 이를 때에 솔로몬이 밀로를 건축하였더라

25 솔로몬이 여호와를 위하여 쌓은 제단 위에 해마다 세 번씩 번제와 감사의 제물을 드리고 또 여호와 앞에 있는 제단에 분향하니라 이에 성전 짓는 일을 마치니라

26 솔로몬 왕이 에돔 땅 홍해 물 가의 엘롯 근처 에시온게벨에서 배들을 지은지라

27 히람이 자기 종 곧 바다에 익숙한 사공들을 솔로몬의 종과 함께 그 배로 보내매

28 그들이 오빌에 이르러 거기서 금 사백이십 달란트를 얻고 솔로몬 왕에게로 가져왔더라

Y le dijo Jehová: Yo he oído tu oración y tu ruego que has hecho en mi presencia. Yo he santificado esta casa que tú has edificado, para poner mi nombre en ella para siempre; y en ella estarán mis ojos y mi corazón todos los días. 4. Y si tú anduvieres delante de mí como anduvo David tu padre, en integridad de corazón y en equidad, haciendo todas las cosas que yo te he mandado, y guardando mis estatutos y mis decretos, 5. yo afirmaré el trono de tu reino sobre Israel para siempre, como hablé a David tu padre, diciendo: No faltará varón de tu descendencia en el trono de Israel. 6. Mas si obstinadamente os apartareis de mí vosotros y vuestros hijos, y no guardareis mis mandamientos y mis estatutos que yo he puesto delante de vosotros, sino que fuereis y sirviereis a dioses ajenos, y los adorareis; 7. yo cortaré a Israel de sobre la faz de la tierra que les he entregado; y esta casa que he santificado a mi nombre, yo la echaré de delante de mí, e Israel será por proverbio y refrán a todos los pueblos; 8. y esta casa, que estaba en estima, cualquiera que pase por ella se asombrará, y se burlará, y dirá: ¿Por qué ha hecho así Jehová a esta tierra y a esta casa? 9. Y dirán: Por cuanto dejaron a Jehová su Dios, que había sacado a sus padres de tierra de Egipto, y echaron mano a dioses ajenos, y los adoraron y los sirvieron; por eso ha traído Jehová sobre ellos todo este mal. Y los que Salomón había hecho jefes y vigilantes sobre las obras eran quinientos cincuenta, los cuales estaban sobre el pueblo que trabajaba en aquella obra. 24. Y subió la hija de Faraón de la ciudad de David a su casa que Salomón le había edificado; entonces edificó él a Milo. 25. Y ofrecía Salomón tres veces cada año holocaustos y sacrificios de paz sobre el altar que él edificó a Jehová, y quemaba incienso sobre el que estaba delante de Jehová, después que la casa fue terminada. 26. But if you turn aside from following me, you or your children, and do not keep my commandments and my statutes that I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them, 7. then I will cut off Israel from the land that I have given them, and the house that I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight, and Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples. 8. And this house will become a heap of ruins. Everyone passing by it will be astonished and will hiss, and they will say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’ 9. Then they will say, ‘Because they abandoned the Lord their God who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore the Lord has brought all this disaster on them.’” Solomon’s Other Acts 10. At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord and the king’s house, 11. and Hiram king of Tyre had supplied Solomon with cedar and cypress timber and gold, as much as he desired, King Solomon gave to Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee. 12. But when Hiram came from Tyre to see the cities that Solomon had given him, they did not please him. 13. Therefore he said, “What kind of cities are these that you have given me, my brother?” So they are called the land of Cabul to this day. 14. Hiram had sent to the king 120 talents of gold. 15. And this is the account of the forced labor that King Solomon drafted to build the house of the Lord and his own house and the Millo and the wall of Jerusalem and Hazor and Megiddo and Gezer 16. (Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up and captured Gezer and burned it with fire, and had killed the Canaanites who lived in the city, and had given it as dowry to his daughter, Solomon’s wife; 17. so Solomon rebuilt Gezer) and Lower Beth-horon 18. and Baalath and Tamar in the wilderness, in the land of Judah, 19. and all the store cities that Solomon had, and the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and whatever Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion. 20. All the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the people of Israel— 21. their descendants who were left after them in the land, whom the people of Israel were unable to devote to destruction—these Solomon drafted to be slaves, and so they are to this day. 22. But of the people of Israel Solomon made no slaves. They were the soldiers, they were his officials, his commanders, his captains, his chariot commanders and his horsemen. 23. These were the chief officers who were over Solomon’s work: 550 who had charge of the people who carried on the work. 24. But Pharaoh’s daughter went up from the city of David to her own house that Solomon had built for her. Then he built the Millo. 25. Three times a year Solomon used to offer up burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar that he built to the Lord, making offerings with it before the Lord. So he finished the house. 26. King Solomon built a fleet of ships at Ezion-geber, which is near Eloth on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom. 27. And Hiram sent with the fleet his servants, seamen who were familiar with the sea, together with the servants of Solomon. 28. And they went to Ophir and brought from there gold, 420 talents, and they brought it to King Solomon.

Pacto de Dios con Salomón

(2 Cr. 7.11-22)

Cuando Salomón hubo acabado la obra de la casa de Jehová, y la casa real, y todo lo que Salomón quiso hacer,
Jehová apareció a Salomón la segunda vez, como le había aparecido en Gabaón.

The Lord Appears to Solomon

As soon as Solomon had finished building the house of the Lord and the king’s house and all that Solomon desired to build,
the Lord appeared to Solomon a second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.
And the Lord said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your plea, which you have made before me. I have consecrated this house that you have built, by putting my name there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time.
And as for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, with integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, and keeping my statutes and my rules,

And this house will become a heap of ruins. Everyone passing by it will be astonished and will hiss, and they will say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’
Then they will say, ‘Because they abandoned the Lord their God who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore the Lord has brought all this disaster on them.’”

Solomon’s Other Acts
At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord and the king’s house,
and Hiram king of Tyre had supplied Solomon with cedar and cypress timber and gold, as much as he desired, King Solomon gave to Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
But when Hiram came from Tyre to see the cities that Solomon had given him, they did not please him.
Therefore he said, “What kind of cities are these that you have given me, my brother?” So they are called the land of Cabul to this day.
Hiram had sent to the king 120 talents of gold.
And this is the account of the forced labor that King Solomon drafted to build the house of the Lord and his own house and the Millo and the wall of Jerusalem and Hazor and Megiddo and Gezer
(Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up and captured Gezer and burned it with fire, and had killed the Canaanites who lived in the city, and had given it as dowry to his daughter, Solomon’s wife;
so Solomon rebuilt Gezer) and Lower Beth-horon
and Baalath and Tamar in the wilderness, in the land of Judah,
and all the store cities that Solomon had, and the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and whatever Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
All the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the people of Israel—
their descendants who were left after them in the land, whom the people of Israel were unable to devote to destruction—these Solomon drafted to be slaves, and so they are to this day.
But of the people of Israel Solomon made no slaves. They were the soldiers, they were his officials, his commanders, his captains, his chariot commanders and his horsemen.
These were the chief officers who were over Solomon’s work: 550 who had charge of the people who carried on the work.
But Pharaoh’s daughter went up from the city of David to her own house that Solomon had built for her. Then he built the Millo.
Three times a year Solomon used to offer up burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar that he built to the Lord, making offerings with it before the Lord. So he finished the house.
King Solomon built a fleet of ships at Ezion-geber, which is near Eloth on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.
And Hiram sent with the fleet his servants, seamen who were familiar with the sea, together with the servants of Solomon.
And they went to Ophir and brought from there gold, 420 talents, and they brought it to King Solomon.
