제 1 장

여호와께서 고레스의 마음을 감동시키다

1   바사 왕 고레스 원년에 여호와께서 예레미야의 입을 통하여 하신 말씀을 이루게 하시려고 바사 왕 고레스의 마음을 감동시키시매 그가 온 나라에 공포도 하고 조서도 내려 이르되

2   바사 왕 고레스는 말하노니 하늘의 하나님 여호와께서 세상 모든 나라를 내게 주셨고 나에게 명령하사 유다 예루살렘에 성전을 건축하라 하셨나니

3   이스라엘의 하나님은 참 신이시라 너희 중에 그의 백성 된 자는 다 유다 예루살렘으로 올라가서 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와의 성전을 건축하라 그는 예루살렘에 계신 하나님이시라

4   그 남아 있는 백성이 어느 곳에 머물러 살든지 그 곳 사람들이 마땅히 은과 금과 그 밖의 물건과 짐승으로 도와 주고 그 외에도 예루살렘에 세울 하나님의 성전을 위하여 예물을 기쁘게 드릴지니라 하였더라

사로잡혀 간 백성이 돌아오다

5   이에 유다와 베냐민 족장들과 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 그 마음이 하나님께 감동을 받고 올라가서 예루살렘에 여호와의 성전을 건축하고자 하는 자가 다 일어나니

6   그 사면 사람들이 은 그릇과 금과 물품들과 짐승과 보물로 돕고 그 외에도 예물을 기쁘게 드렸더라

7   고레스 왕이 또 여호와의 성전 그릇을 꺼내니 옛적에 느부갓네살이 예루살렘에서 옮겨다가 자기 신들의 신당에 두었던 것이라

8   바사 왕 고레스가 창고지기 미드르닷에게 명령하여 그 그릇들을 꺼내어 세어서 유다 총독 세스바살에게 넘겨주니

9   그 수는 금 접시가 서른 개요 은 접시가 천 개요 칼이 스물아홉 개요

10   금 대접이 서른 개요 그보다 못한 은 대접이 사백열 개요 그밖의 그릇이 천 개이니

11   금, 은 그릇이 모두 오천사백 개라 사로잡힌 자를 바벨론에서 예루살렘으로 데리고 갈 때에 세스바살이 그 그릇들을 다 가지고 갔더라

El decreto de Ciro

(2 Cr. 36.22-23)

1En el primer año de Ciro rey de Persia, para que se cumpliese la palabra de Jehová por boca de Jeremías, despertó Jehová el espíritu de Ciro rey de Persia, el cual hizo pregonar de palabra y también por escrito por todo su reino, diciendo:

2Así ha dicho Ciro rey de Persia: Jehová el Dios de los cielos me ha dado todos los reinos de la tierra, y me ha mandado que le edifique casa en Jerusalén, que está en Judá. 3Quien haya entre vosotros de su pueblo, sea Dios con él, y suba a Jerusalén que está en Judá, y edifique la casa a Jehová Dios de Israel (él es el Dios), la cual está en Jerusalén. 4Y a todo el que haya quedado, en cualquier lugar donde more, ayúdenle los hombres de su lugar con plata, oro, bienes y ganados, además de ofrendas voluntarias para la casa de Dios, la cual está en Jerusalén.

El regreso a Jerusalén

5Entonces se levantaron los jefes de las casas paternas de Judá y de Benjamín, y los sacerdotes y levitas, todos aquellos cuyo espíritu despertó Dios para subir a edificar la casa de Jehová, la cual está en Jerusalén. 6Y todos los que estaban en sus alrededores les ayudaron con plata y oro, con bienes y ganado, y con cosas preciosas, además de todo lo que se ofreció voluntariamente. 7Y el rey Ciro sacó los utensilios de la casa de Jehová, que Nabucodonosor había sacado de Jerusalén, y los había puesto en la casa de sus dioses. 8Los sacó, pues, Ciro rey de Persia, por mano de Mitrídates tesorero, el cual los dio por cuenta a Sesbasar príncipe de Judá. 9Y esta es la cuenta de ellos: treinta tazones de oro, mil tazones de plata, veintinueve cuchillos, 10treinta tazas de oro, otras cuatrocientas diez tazas de plata, y otros mil utensilios. 11Todos los utensilios de oro y de plata eran cinco mil cuatrocientos. Todos los hizo llevar Sesbasar con los que subieron del cautiverio de Babilonia a Jerusalén.

The Proclamation of Cyrus

1 In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing:

2“Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. 3Whoever is among you of all his people, may his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and rebuild the house of the Lord, the God of Israel—he is the God who is in Jerusalem. 4And let each survivor, in whatever place he sojourns, be assisted by the men of his place with silver and gold, with goods and with beasts, besides freewill offerings for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.”

5Then rose up the heads of the fathers’ houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, everyone whose spirit God had stirred to go up to rebuild the house of the Lord that is in Jerusalem. 6And all who were about them aided them with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, with beasts, and with costly wares, besides all that was freely offered. 7Cyrus the king also brought out the vessels of the house of the Lord that Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and placed in the house of his gods. 8Cyrus king of Persia brought these out in the charge of Mithredath the treasurer, who counted them out to Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah. 9And this was the number of them: 30 basins of gold, 1,000 basins of silver, 29 censers, 1030 bowls of gold, 410 bowls of silver, and 1,000 other vessels; 11all the vessels of gold and of silver were 5,400. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up, when the exiles were brought up from Babylonia to Jerusalem.
