제 1 장

다윗이 늙은 때

1 다윗 왕이 나이가 많아 늙으니 이불을 덮어도 따뜻하지 아니한지라

2 그의 시종들이 왕께 아뢰되 우리 주 왕을 위하여 젊은 처녀 하나를 구하여 그로 왕을 받들어 모시게 하고 왕의 품에 누워 우리 주 왕으로 따뜻하시게 하리이다 하고

3 이스라엘 사방 영토 내에 아리따운 처녀를 구하던 중 수넴 여자 아비삭을 얻어 왕께 데려왔으니

4 이 처녀는 심히 아름다워 그가 왕을 받들어 시중들었으나 왕이 잠자리는 같이 하지 아니하였더라

아도니야가 왕이 되고자 하다

5 그 때에 학깃의 아들 아도니야가 스스로 높여서 이르기를 내가 왕이 되리라 하고 자기를 위하여 병거와 기병과 호위병 오십 명을 준비하니

6 그는 압살롬 다음에 태어난 자요 용모가 심히 준수한 자라 그의 아버지가 네가 어찌하여 그리 하였느냐고 하는 말로 1)한 번도 그를 섭섭하게 한 일이 없었더라

7 아도니야가 스루야의 아들 요압과 제사장 아비아달과 모의하니 그들이 따르고 도우나

8 제사장 사독과 여호야다의 아들 브나야와 선지자 나단과 시므이와 레이와 다윗의 용사들은 아도니야와 같이 하지 아니하였더라

9 아도니야가 에느로겔 근방 소헬렛 바위 곁에서 양과 소와 살찐 송아지를 잡고 왕자 곧 자기의 모든 동생과 왕의 신하 된 유다 모든 사람을 다 청하였으나

10 선지자 나단과 브나야와 용사들과 자기 동생 솔로몬은 청하지 아니하였더라

솔로몬이 왕이 되다

11 나단이 솔로몬의 어머니 밧세바에게 말하여 이르되 학깃의 아들 아도니야가 왕이 되었음을 듣지 못하였나이까 우리 주 다윗은 알지 못하시나이다

12 이제 내게 당신의 생명과 당신의 아들 솔로몬의 생명을 구할 계책을 말하도록 허락하소서

13 당신은 다윗 왕 앞에 들어가서 아뢰기를 내 주 왕이여 전에 왕이 여종에게 맹세하여 이르시기를 네 아들 솔로몬이 반드시 나를 이어 왕이 되어 내 왕위에 앉으리라 하지 아니하셨나이까 그런데 아도니야가 무슨 이유로 왕이 되었나이까 하소서

14 당신이 거기서 왕과 말씀하실 때에 나도 뒤이어 들어가서 당신의 말씀을 확증하리이다

15 밧세바가 이에 침실에 들어가 왕에게 이르니 왕이 심히 늙었으므로 수넴 여자 아비삭이 시중들었더라

16 밧세바가 몸을 굽혀 왕께 절하니 왕이 이르되 어찌 됨이냐

17 그가 왕께 대답하되 내 주여 왕이 전에 왕의 하나님 여호와를 가리켜 여종에게 맹세하시기를 네 아들 솔로몬이 반드시 나를 이어 왕이 되어 내 왕위에 앉으리라 하셨거늘

18 이제 아도니야가 왕이 되었어도 내 주 왕은 알지 못하시나이다

19 그가 수소와 살찐 송아지와 양을 많이 잡고 왕의 모든 아들과 제사장 아비아달과 군사령관 요압을 청하였으나 왕의 종 솔로몬은 청하지 아니하였나이다

20 내 주 왕이여 온 이스라엘이 왕에게 다 주목하고 누가 내 주 왕을 이어 그 왕위에 앉을지를 공포하시기를 기다리나이다

21 그렇지 아니하면 내 주 왕께서 그의 조상들과 함께 잘 때에 나와 내 아들 솔로몬은 죄인이 되리이다

22 밧세바가 왕과 말할 때에 선지자 나단이 들어온지라

23 어떤 사람이 왕께 말하여 이르되 선지자 나단이 여기 있나이다 하니 그가 왕 앞에 들어와서 얼굴을 땅에 대고 왕께 절하고

24 이르되 내 주 왕께서 이르시기를 아도니야가 나를 이어 왕이 되어 내 왕위에 앉으리라 하셨나이까

25 그가 오늘 내려가서 수소와 살찐 송아지와 양을 많이 잡고 왕의 모든 아들과 군사령관들과 제사장 아비아달을 청하였는데 그들이 아도니야 앞에서 먹고 마시며 아도니야 왕은 만세수를 하옵소서 하였나이다

26 그러나 왕의 종 나와 제사장 사독과 여호야다의 아들 브나야와 왕의 종 솔로몬은 청하지 아니하였사오니

27 이것이 내 주 왕께서 정하신 일이니이까 그런데 왕께서 내 주 왕을 이어 그 왕위에 앉을 자를 종에게 알게 하지 아니하셨나이다

28 다윗 왕이 명령하여 이르되 밧세바를 내 앞으로 부르라 하매 그가 왕의 앞으로 들어가 그 앞에 서는지라

29 왕이 이르되 내 생명을 모든 환난에서 구하신 여호와께서 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하노라

30 내가 이전에 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 가리켜 네게 맹세하여 이르기를 네 아들 솔로몬이 반드시 나를 이어 왕이 되고 나를 대신하여 내 왕위에 앉으리라 하였으니 내가 오늘 그대로 행하리라

31 밧세바가 얼굴을 땅에 대고 절하며 내 주 다윗 왕은 만세수를 하옵소서 하니라

32 다윗 왕이 이르되 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단과 여호야다의 아들 브나야를 내 앞으로 부르라 하니 그들이 왕 앞에 이른지라

33 왕이 그들에게 이르되 너희는 너희 주의 신하들을 데리고 내 아들 솔로몬을 내 노새에 태우고 기혼으로 인도하여 내려가고

34 거기서 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단은 그에게 기름을 부어 이스라엘 왕으로 삼고 너희는 뿔나팔을 불며 솔로몬 왕은 만세수를 하옵소서 하고

35 그를 따라 올라오라 그가 와서 내 왕위에 앉아 나를 대신하여 왕이 되리라 내가 그를 세워 이스라엘과 유다의 통치자로 지명하였느니라

36 여호야다의 아들 브나야가 왕께 대답하여 이르되 아멘 내 주 왕의 하나님 여호와께서도 이렇게 말씀하시기를 원하오며

37 또 여호와께서 내 주 왕과 함께 계심 같이 솔로몬과 함께 계셔서 그의 왕위를 내 주 다윗 왕의 왕위보다 더 크게 하시기를 원하나이다 하니라

38 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단과 여호야다의 아들 브나야와 그렛 사람과 블렛 사람이 내려가서 솔로몬을 다윗 왕의 노새에 태우고 인도하여 기혼으로 가서

39 제사장 사독이 성막 가운데에서 기름 담은 뿔을 가져다가 솔로몬에게 기름을 부으니 이에 뿔나팔을 불고 모든 백성이 솔로몬 왕은 만세수를 하옵소서 하니라

40 모든 백성이 그를 따라 올라와서 피리를 불며 크게 즐거워하므로 땅이 그들의 소리로 말미암아 갈라질 듯하니

41 아도니야와 그와 함께 한 손님들이 먹기를 마칠 때에 다 들은지라 요압이 뿔나팔 소리를 듣고 이르되 어찌하여 성읍 중에서 소리가 요란하냐

42 말할 때에 제사장 아비아달의 아들 요나단이 오는지라 아도니야가 이르되 들어오라 너는 용사라 아름다운 소식을 가져오는도다

43 요나단이 아도니야에게 대답하여 이르되 과연 우리 주 다윗 왕이 솔로몬을 왕으로 삼으셨나이다

44 왕께서 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단과 여호야다의 아들 브나야와 그렛 사람과 블렛 사람을 솔로몬과 함께 보내셨는데 그들 무리가 왕의 노새에 솔로몬을 태워다가

45 제사장 사독과 선지자 나단이 기혼에서 기름을 부어 왕으로 삼고 무리가 그 곳에서 올라오며 즐거워하므로 성읍이 진동하였나니 당신들에게 들린 소리가 이것이라

46 또 솔로몬도 왕좌에 앉아 있고

47 왕의 신하들도 와서 우리 주 다윗 왕에게 축복하여 이르기를 왕의 하나님이 솔로몬의 이름을 왕의 이름보다 더 아름답게 하시고 그의 왕위를 왕의 위보다 크게 하시기를 원하나이다 하매 왕이 침상에서 몸을 굽히고

48 또한 이르시기를 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 찬송하리로다 여호와께서 오늘 내 왕위에 앉을 자를 주사 내 눈으로 보게 하셨도다 하셨나이다 하니

49 아도니야와 함께 한 손님들이 다 놀라 일어나 각기 갈 길로 간지라

50 아도니야도 솔로몬을 두려워하여 일어나 가서 제단 뿔을 잡으니

51 어떤 사람이 솔로몬에게 말하여 이르되 아도니야가 솔로몬 왕을 두려워하여 지금 제단 뿔을 잡고 말하기를 솔로몬 왕이 오늘 칼로 자기 종을 죽이지 않겠다고 내게 맹세하기를 원한다 하나이다

52 솔로몬이 이르되 그가 만일 2)선한 사람일진대 그의 머리털 하나도 땅에 떨어지지 아니하려니와 그에게 악한 것이 보이면 죽으리라 하고

53 사람을 보내어 그를 제단에서 이끌어 내리니 그가 와서 솔로몬 왕께 절하매 솔로몬이 이르기를 네 집으로 가라 하였더라

Y la joven era hermosa; y ella abrigaba al rey, y le servía; pero el rey nunca la conoció. Adonías usurpa el trono 5. Entonces Adonías hijo de Haguit se rebeló, diciendo: Yo reinaré. Y se hizo de carros y de gente de a caballo, y de cincuenta hombres que corriesen delante de él. 6. Y su padre nunca le había entristecido en todos sus días con decirle: ¿Por qué haces así? Además, este era de muy hermoso parecer; y había nacido después de Absalón. 7. Y se había puesto de acuerdo con Joab hijo de Sarvia y con el sacerdote Abiatar, los cuales ayudaban a Adonías. 8. Pero el sacerdote Sadoc, y Benaía hijo de Joiada, el profeta Natán, Simei, Rei y todos los grandes de David, no seguían a Adonías. 9. Y matando Adonías ovejas y vacas y animales gordos junto a la peña de Zohelet, la cual está cerca de la fuente de Rogel, convidó a todos sus hermanos los hijos del rey, y a todos los varones de Judá, siervos del rey; 10. pero no convidó al profeta Natán, ni a Benaía, ni a los grandes, ni a Salomón su hermano. 11. Entonces habló Natán a Betsabé madre de Salomón, diciendo: ¿No has oído que reina Adonías hijo de Haguit, sin saberlo David nuestro señor? 12. Ven pues, ahora, y toma mi consejo, para que conserves tu vida, y la de tu hijo Salomón. 13. Ve y entra al rey David, y dile: Rey señor mío, ¿no juraste a tu sierva, diciendo: Salomón tu hijo reinará después de mí, y él se sentará en mi trono? ¿Por qué, pues, reina Adonías? 14. Y estando tú aún hablando con el rey, yo entraré tras ti y reafirmaré tus razones. 15. Entonces Betsabé entró a la cámara del rey; y el rey era muy viejo, y Abisag sunamita le servía. 16. Y Betsabé se inclinó, e hizo reverencia al rey. Y el rey dijo: ¿Qué tienes? 17. Y ella le respondió: Señor mío, tú juraste a tu sierva por Jehová tu Dios, diciendo: Salomón tu hijo reinará después de mí, y él se sentará en mi trono. 18. Y he aquí ahora Adonías reina, y tú, mi señor rey, hasta ahora no lo sabes. 19. Ha matado bueyes, y animales gordos, y muchas ovejas, y ha convidado a todos los hijos del rey, al sacerdote Abiatar, y a Joab general del ejército; mas a Salomón tu siervo no ha convidado. 20. Entre tanto, rey señor mío, los ojos de todo Israel están puestos en ti, para que les declares quién se ha de sentar en el trono de mi señor el rey después de él. 21. De otra manera sucederá que cuando mi señor el rey duerma con sus padres, yo y mi hijo Salomón seremos tenidos por culpables. 22. Mientras aún hablaba ella con el rey, he aquí vino el profeta Natán. 23. Y dieron aviso al rey, diciendo: He aquí el profeta Natán; el cual, cuando entró al rey, se postró delante del rey inclinando su rostro a tierra. 24. Y dijo Natán: Rey señor mío, ¿has dicho tú: Adonías reinará después de mí, y él se sentará en mi trono? 25. Porque hoy ha descendido, y ha matado bueyes y animales gordos y muchas ovejas, y ha convidado a todos los hijos del rey, y a los capitanes del ejército, y también al sacerdote Abiatar; y he aquí, están comiendo y bebiendo delante de él, y han dicho: ¡Viva el rey Adonías! 26. Pero ni a mí tu siervo, ni al sacerdote Sadoc, ni a Benaía hijo de Joiada, ni a Salomón tu siervo, ha convidado. 27. ¿Es este negocio ordenado por mi señor el rey, sin haber declarado a tus siervos quién se había de sentar en el trono de mi señor el rey después de él? David proclama rey a Salomón 28. Entonces el rey David respondió y dijo: Llamadme a Betsabé. Y ella entró a la presencia del rey, y se puso delante del rey. 29. Jonatán respondió y dijo a Adonías: Ciertamente nuestro señor el rey David ha hecho rey a Salomón; 44. y el rey ha enviado con él al sacerdote Sadoc y al profeta Natán, y a Benaía hijo de Joiada, y también a los cereteos y a los peleteos, los cuales le montaron en la mula del rey; 45. y el sacerdote Sadoc y el profeta Natán lo han ungido por rey en Gihón, y de allí han subido con alegrías, y la ciudad está llena de estruendo. Y el rey adoró en la cama. 48. Además el rey ha dicho así: Bendito sea Jehová Dios de Israel, que ha dado hoy quien se siente en mi trono, viéndolo mis ojos. 49. Ellos entonces se estremecieron, y se levantaron todos los convidados que estaban con Adonías, y se fue cada uno por su camino. 50. So they sought for a beautiful young woman throughout all the territory of Israel, and found Abishag the Shunammite, and brought her to the king. 4. The young woman was very beautiful, and she was of service to the king and attended to him, but the king knew her not. Adonijah Sets Himself Up as King 5. Now Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, “I will be king.” And he prepared for himself chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him. 6. His father had never at any time displeased him by asking, “Why have you done thus and so?” He was also a very handsome man, and he was born next after Absalom. 7. He conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah and with Abiathar the priest. And they followed Adonijah and helped him. 8. But Zadok the priest and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada and Nathan the prophet and Shimei and Rei and David’s mighty men were not with Adonijah. 9. Adonijah sacrificed sheep, oxen, and fattened cattle by the Serpent’s Stone, which is beside En-rogel, and he invited all his brothers, the king’s sons, and all the royal officials of Judah, 10. but he did not invite Nathan the prophet or Benaiah or the mighty men or Solomon his brother. Nathan and Bathsheba Before David 11. Then Nathan said to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, “Have you not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith has become king and David our lord does not know it? 12. Now therefore come, let me give you advice, that you may save your own life and the life of your son Solomon. 13. Go in at once to King David, and say to him, ‘Did you not, my lord the king, swear to your servant, saying, “Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne”? Why then is Adonijah king?’ 14. Then while you are still speaking with the king, I also will come in after you and confirm your words.” 15. So Bathsheba went to the king in his chamber (now the king was very old, and Abishag the Shunammite was attending to the king). 16. Bathsheba bowed and paid homage to the king, and the king said, “What do you desire?” 17. She said to him, “My lord, you swore to your servant by the Lord your God, saying, ‘Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne.’ 18. And now, behold, Adonijah is king, although you, my lord the king, do not know it. 19. He has sacrificed oxen, fattened cattle, and sheep in abundance, and has invited all the sons of the king, Abiathar the priest, and Joab the commander of the army, but Solomon your servant he has not invited. 20. And now, my lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are on you, to tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him. 21. Otherwise it will come to pass, when my lord the king sleeps with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon will be counted offenders.” 22. While she was still speaking with the king, Nathan the prophet came in. 23. And they told the king, “Here is Nathan the prophet.” And when he came in before the king, he bowed before the king, with his face to the ground. 24. And Nathan said, “My lord the king, have you said, ‘Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne’? 25. For he has gone down this day and has sacrificed oxen, fattened cattle, and sheep in abundance, and has invited all the king’s sons, the commanders of the army, and Abiathar the priest. And behold, they are eating and drinking before him, and saying, ‘Long live King Adonijah!’ 26. But me, your servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and your servant Solomon he has not invited. 27. Has this thing been brought about by my lord the king and you have not told your servants who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?” Solomon Anointed King 28. Then King David answered, “Call Bathsheba to me.” So she came into the king’s presence and stood before the king. 29. And the king swore, saying, “As the Lord lives, who has redeemed my soul out of every adversity, 30. as I swore to you by the Lord, the God of Israel, saying, ‘Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne in my place,’ even so will I do this day.” 31. Then Bathsheba bowed with her face to the ground and paid homage to the king and said, “May my lord King David live forever!” 32. King David said, “Call to me Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada.” So they came before the king. 33. And the king said to them, “Take with you the servants of your lord and have Solomon my son ride on my own mule, and bring him down to Gihon. 34. And let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet there anoint him king over Israel. Then blow the trumpet and say, ‘Long live King Solomon!’ 35. You shall then come up after him, and he shall come and sit on my throne, for he shall be king in my place. And I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.” 36. And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, “Amen! May the Lord, the God of my lord the king, say so. 37. As the Lord has been with my lord the king, even so may he be with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord King David.” 38. So Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites went down and had Solomon ride on King David’s mule and brought him to Gihon. 39. There Zadok the priest took the horn of oil from the tent and anointed Solomon. Then they blew the trumpet, and all the people said, “Long live King Solomon!” 40. And all the people went up after him, playing on pipes, and rejoicing with great joy, so that the earth was split by their noise. 41. Adonijah and all the guests who were with him heard it as they finished feasting. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, “What does this uproar in the city mean?” 42. While he was still speaking, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came. And Adonijah said, “Come in, for you are a worthy man and bring good news.” 43. Jonathan answered Adonijah, “No, for our lord King David has made Solomon king, 44. and the king has sent with him Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites. And they had him ride on the king’s mule. 45. And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king at Gihon, and they have gone up from there rejoicing, so that the city is in an uproar. This is the noise that you have heard. 46. Solomon sits on the royal throne. 47. Moreover, the king’s servants came to congratulate our lord King David, saying, ‘May your God make the name of Solomon more famous than yours, and make his throne greater than your throne.’ And the king bowed himself on the bed. 48. And the king also said, ‘Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who has granted someone to sit on my throne this day, my own eyes seeing it.’” 49. Then all the guests of Adonijah trembled and rose, and each went his own way. 50. And Adonijah feared Solomon. So he arose and went and took hold of the horns of the altar. 51. Then it was told Solomon, “Behold, Adonijah fears King Solomon, for behold, he has laid hold of the horns of the altar, saying, ‘Let King Solomon swear to me first that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.’” 52. And Solomon said, “If he will show himself a worthy man, not one of his hairs shall fall to the earth, but if wickedness is found in him, he shall die.” 53. So King Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and paid homage to King Solomon, and Solomon said to him, “Go to your house.”

Abisag sirve a David

Cuando el rey David era viejo y avanzado en días, le cubrían de ropas, pero no se calentaba.
Le dijeron, por tanto, sus siervos: Busquen para mi señor el rey una joven virgen, para que esté delante del rey y lo abrigue, y duerma a su lado, y entrará en calor mi señor el rey.
Y buscaron una joven hermosa por toda la tierra de Israel, y hallaron a Abisag sunamita, y la trajeron al rey.
Y la joven era hermosa; y ella abrigaba al rey, y le servía; pero el rey nunca la conoció.

Adonías usurpa el trono
Entonces Adonías hijo de Haguit se rebeló, diciendo: Yo reinaré. Y se hizo de carros y de gente de a caballo, y de cincuenta hombres que corriesen delante de él.
Y su padre nunca le había entristecido en todos sus días con decirle: ¿Por qué haces así? Además, este era de muy hermoso parecer; y había nacido después de Absalón.
Y se había puesto de acuerdo con Joab hijo de Sarvia y con el sacerdote Abiatar, los cuales ayudaban a Adonías.
Pero el sacerdote Sadoc, y Benaía hijo de Joiada, el profeta Natán, Simei, Rei y todos los grandes de David, no seguían a Adonías.
Y matando Adonías ovejas y vacas y animales gordos junto a la peña de Zohelet, la cual está cerca de la fuente de Rogel, convidó a todos sus hermanos los hijos del rey, y a todos los varones de Judá, siervos del rey;
pero no convidó al profeta Natán, ni a Benaía, ni a los grandes, ni a Salomón su hermano.
Entonces habló Natán a Betsabé madre de Salomón, diciendo: ¿No has oído que reina Adonías hijo de Haguit, sin saberlo David nuestro señor?
Ven pues, ahora, y toma mi consejo, para que conserves tu vida, y la de tu hijo Salomón.
Ve y entra al rey David, y dile: Rey señor mío, ¿no juraste a tu sierva, diciendo: Salomón tu hijo reinará después de mí, y él se sentará en mi trono? ¿Por qué, pues, reina Adonías?
Y estando tú aún hablando con el rey, yo entraré tras ti y reafirmaré tus razones.
Entonces Betsabé entró a la cámara del rey; y el rey era muy viejo, y Abisag sunamita le servía.
Y Betsabé se inclinó, e hizo reverencia al rey. Y el rey dijo: ¿Qué tienes?
Y ella le respondió: Señor mío, tú juraste a tu sierva por Jehová tu Dios, diciendo: Salomón tu hijo reinará después de mí, y él se sentará en mi trono.
Y he aquí ahora Adonías reina, y tú, mi señor rey, hasta ahora no lo sabes.
Ha matado bueyes, y animales gordos, y muchas ovejas, y ha convidado a todos los hijos del rey, al sacerdote Abiatar, y a Joab general del ejército; mas a Salomón tu siervo no ha convidado.
Entre tanto, rey señor mío, los ojos de todo Israel están puestos en ti, para que les declares quién se ha de sentar en el trono de mi señor el rey después de él.
De otra manera sucederá que cuando mi señor el rey duerma con sus padres, yo y mi hijo Salomón seremos tenidos por culpables.
Mientras aún hablaba ella con el rey, he aquí vino el profeta Natán.
Y dieron aviso al rey, diciendo: He aquí el profeta Natán; el cual, cuando entró al rey, se postró delante del rey inclinando su rostro a tierra.
Y dijo Natán: Rey señor mío, ¿has dicho tú: Adonías reinará después de mí, y él se sentará en mi trono?
Porque hoy ha descendido, y ha matado bueyes y animales gordos y muchas ovejas, y ha convidado a todos los hijos del rey, y a los capitanes del ejército, y también al sacerdote Abiatar; y he aquí, están comiendo y bebiendo delante de él, y han dicho: ¡Viva el rey Adonías!
Pero ni a mí tu siervo, ni al sacerdote Sadoc, ni a Benaía hijo de Joiada, ni a Salomón tu siervo, ha convidado.
¿Es este negocio ordenado por mi señor el rey, sin haber declarado a tus siervos quién se había de sentar en el trono de mi señor el rey después de él?

David proclama rey a Salomón
Entonces el rey David respondió y dijo: Llamadme a Betsabé. Y ella entró a la presencia del rey, y se puso delante del rey.

Moreover, the king’s servants came to congratulate our lord King David, saying, ‘May your God make the name of Solomon more famous than yours, and make his throne greater than your throne.’ And the king bowed himself on the bed.
And the king also said, ‘Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who has granted someone to sit on my throne this day, my own eyes seeing it.’”
Then all the guests of Adonijah trembled and rose, and each went his own way.
And Adonijah feared Solomon. So he arose and went and took hold of the horns of the altar.
Then it was told Solomon, “Behold, Adonijah fears King Solomon, for behold, he has laid hold of the horns of the altar, saying, ‘Let King Solomon swear to me first that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.’”
And Solomon said, “If he will show himself a worthy man, not one of his hairs shall fall to the earth, but if wickedness is found in him, he shall die.”
So King Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and paid homage to King Solomon, and Solomon said to him, “Go to your house.”
