제 28 장

유다 왕 아하스(왕하 16:1-5)

1   아하스가 왕위에 오를 때에 나이가 이십 세라 예루살렘에서 십육 년 동안 다스렸으나 그의 조상 다윗과 같지 아니하여 여호와 보시기에 정직하게 행하지 아니하고

2   이스라엘 왕들의 길로 행하여 바알들의 우상을 부어 만들고

3   또 힌놈의 아들 골짜기에서 분향하고 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 쫓아내신 이방 사람들의 가증한 일을 본받아 그의 자녀들을 불사르고

4   또 산당과 작은 산 위와 모든 푸른 나무 아래에서 제사를 드리며 분향하니라

5   그러므로 그의 하나님 여호와께서 그를 아람 왕의 손에 넘기시매 그들이 쳐서 심히 많은 무리를 사로잡아 다메섹으로 갔으며 또 이스라엘 왕의 손에 넘기시매 그가 쳐서 크게 살륙하였으니

6   이는 그의 조상들의 하나님 여호와를 버렸음이라 르말랴의 아들 베가가 유다에서 하루 동안에 용사 십이만 명을 죽였으며

7   에브라임의 용사 시그리는 왕의 아들 마아세야와 궁내대신 아스리감과 총리대신 엘가나를 죽였더라

선지자 오뎃

8   이스라엘 자손이 그들의 형제 중에서 그들의 아내와 자녀를 합하여 이십만 명을 사로잡고 그들의 재물을 많이 노략하여 사마리아로 가져가니

9   그 곳에 여호와의 선지자가 있는데 이름은 오뎃이라 그가 사마리아로 돌아오는 군대를 영접하고 그들에게 이르되 너희 조상의 하나님 여호와께서 유다에게 진노하셨으므로 너희 손에 넘기셨거늘 너희의 노기가 충천하여 살륙하고

10   이제 너희가 또 유다와 예루살렘 백성들을 압제하여 노예로 삼고자 생각하는도다 그러나 너희는 너희의 하나님 여호와께 범죄함이 없느냐

11   그런즉 너희는 내 말을 듣고 너희의 형제들 중에서 사로잡아 온 포로를 놓아 돌아가게 하라 여호와의 진노가 너희에게 임박하였느니라 한지라

12   에브라임 자손의 우두머리 몇 사람 곧 요하난의 아들 아사랴와 무실레못의 아들 베레갸와 살룸의 아들 여히스기야와 하들래의 아들 아마사가 일어나서 전장에서 돌아오는 자들을 막으며

13   그들에게 이르되 너희는 이 포로를 이리로 끌어들이지 못하리라 너희가 행하는 일이 우리를 여호와께 허물이 있게 함이니 우리의 죄와 허물을 더하게 함이로다 우리의 허물이 이미 커서 진노하심이 이스라엘에게 임박하였느니라 하매

14   이에 무기를 가진 사람들이 포로와 노략한 물건을 방백들과 온 회중 앞에 둔지라

15   이 위에 이름이 기록된 자들이 일어나서 포로를 맞고 노략하여 온 것 중에서 옷을 가져다가 벗은 자들에게 입히며 신을 신기며 먹이고 마시게 하며 기름을 바르고 그 약한 자들은 모두 나귀에 태워 데리고 종려나무 성 여리고에 이르러 그의 형제에게 돌려준 후에 사마리아로 돌아갔더라

아하스가 앗수르에 도움을 구하다(왕하 16:7-9)

16   그 때에 아하스 왕이 앗수르 왕에게 사람을 보내어 도와 주기를 구하였으니

17   이는 에돔 사람들이 다시 와서 유다를 치고 그의 백성을 사로잡았음이며

18   블레셋 사람들도 유다의 평지와 남방 성읍들을 침노하여 벧세메스와 아얄론과 그데롯과 소고 및 그 주변 마을들과 딤나 및 그 주변 마을들과 김소 및 그 주변 마을들을 점령하고 거기에 살았으니

19   이는 이스라엘 왕 아하스가 유다에서 망령되이 행하여 여호와께 크게 범죄하였으므로 여호와께서 유다를 낮추심이라

20   앗수르 왕 디글랏빌레셀이 그에게 이르렀으나 돕지 아니하고 도리어 그를 공격하였더라

21   아하스가 여호와의 전과 왕궁과 방백들의 집에서 재물을 가져다가 앗수르 왕에게 주었으나 그에게 유익이 없었더라

아하스의 범죄

22   이 아하스 왕이 곤고할 때에 더욱 여호와께 범죄하여

23   자기를 친 다메섹 신들에게 제사하여 이르되 아람 왕들의 신들이 그들을 도왔으니 나도 그 신에게 제사하여 나를 돕게 하리라 하였으나 그 신이 아하스와 온 이스라엘을 망하게 하였더라

24   아하스가 하나님의 전의 기구들을 모아 하나님의 전의 기구들을 부수고 또 여호와의 전 문들을 닫고 예루살렘 구석마다 제단을 쌓고

25   유다 각 성읍에 산당을 세워 다른 신에게 분향하여 그의 조상들의 하나님 여호와를 진노하게 하였더라

26   아하스의 남은 시종 사적과 모든 행위는 유다와 이스라엘 열왕기에 기록되니라

27   아하스가 그의 조상들과 함께 누우매 이스라엘 왕들의 묘실에 들이지 아니하고 예루살렘 성에 장사하였더라 그의 아들 히스기야가 대신하여 왕이 되니라

Reinado de Acaz

(2 R. 16.1-20)

1De veinte años era Acaz cuando comenzó a reinar, y dieciséis años reinó en Jerusalén; mas no hizo lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, como David su padre. 2Antes anduvo en los caminos de los reyes de Israel, y además hizo imágenes fundidas a los baales. 3Quemó también incienso en el valle de los hijos de Hinom, e hizo pasar a sus hijos por fuego, conforme a las abominaciones de las naciones que Jehová había arrojado de la presencia de los hijos de Israel. 4Asimismo sacrificó y quemó incienso en los lugares altos, en los collados, y debajo de todo árbol frondoso.

5Por lo cual Jehová su Dios lo entregó en manos del rey de los sirios, los cuales lo derrotaron, y le tomaron gran número de prisioneros que llevaron a Damasco. Fue también entregado en manos del rey de Israel, el cual lo batió con gran mortandad. 6Porque Peka hijo de Remalías mató en Judá en un día ciento veinte mil hombres valientes, por cuanto habían dejado a Jehová el Dios de sus padres. 7Asimismo Zicri, hombre poderoso de Efraín, mató a Maasías hijo del rey, a Azricam su mayordomo, y a Elcana, segundo después del rey.

8También los hijos de Israel tomaron cautivos de sus hermanos a doscientos mil, mujeres, muchachos y muchachas, además de haber tomado de ellos mucho botín que llevaron a Samaria. 9Había entonces allí un profeta de Jehová que se llamaba Obed, el cual salió delante del ejército cuando entraba en Samaria, y les dijo: He aquí, Jehová el Dios de vuestros padres, por el enojo contra Judá, los ha entregado en vuestras manos; y vosotros los habéis matado con ira que ha llegado hasta el cielo. 10Y ahora habéis determinado sujetar a vosotros a Judá y a Jerusalén como siervos y siervas; mas ¿no habéis pecado vosotros contra Jehová vuestro Dios? 11Oídme, pues, ahora, y devolved a los cautivos que habéis tomado de vuestros hermanos; porque Jehová está airado contra vosotros. 12Entonces se levantaron algunos varones de los principales de los hijos de Efraín, Azarías hijo de Johanán, Berequías hijo de Mesilemot, Ezequías hijo de Salum, y Amasa hijo de Hadlai, contra los que venían de la guerra. 13Y les dijeron: No traigáis aquí a los cautivos, porque el pecado contra Jehová estará sobre nosotros. Vosotros tratáis de añadir sobre nuestros pecados y sobre nuestras culpas, siendo muy grande nuestro delito, y el ardor de la ira contra Israel. 14Entonces el ejército dejó los cautivos y el botín delante de los príncipes y de toda la multitud. 15Y se levantaron los varones nombrados, y tomaron a los cautivos, y del despojo vistieron a los que de ellos estaban desnudos; los vistieron, los calzaron, y les dieron de comer y de beber, los ungieron, y condujeron en asnos a todos los débiles, y los llevaron hasta Jericó, ciudad de las palmeras, cerca de sus hermanos; y ellos volvieron a Samaria.

16En aquel tiempo envió a pedir el rey Acaz a los reyes de Asiria que le ayudasen. 17Porque también los edomitas habían venido y atacado a los de Judá, y habían llevado cautivos. 18Asimismo los filisteos se habían extendido por las ciudades de la Sefela y del Neguev de Judá, y habían tomado Bet-semes, Ajalón, Gederot, Soco con sus aldeas, Timna también con sus aldeas, y Gimzo con sus aldeas; y habitaban en ellas. 19Porque Jehová había humillado a Judá por causa de Acaz rey de Israel, por cuanto él había actuado desenfrenadamente en Judá, y había prevaricado gravemente contra Jehová. 20También vino contra él Tiglat-pileser rey de los asirios, quien lo redujo a estrechez, y no lo fortaleció. 21No obstante que despojó Acaz la casa de Jehová, y la casa real, y las de los príncipes, para dar al rey de los asirios, este no le ayudó.

22Además el rey Acaz en el tiempo que aquel le apuraba, añadió mayor pecado contra Jehová; 23porque ofreció sacrificios a los dioses de Damasco que le habían derrotado, y dijo: Pues que los dioses de los reyes de Siria les ayudan, yo también ofreceré sacrificios a ellos para que me ayuden; bien que fueron estos su ruina, y la de todo Israel. 24Además de eso recogió Acaz los utensilios de la casa de Dios, y los quebró, y cerró las puertas de la casa de Jehová, y se hizo altares en Jerusalén en todos los rincones. 25Hizo también lugares altos en todas las ciudades de Judá, para quemar incienso a los dioses ajenos, provocando así a ira a Jehová el Dios de sus padres. 26Los demás de sus hechos, y todos sus caminos, primeros y postreros, he aquí están escritos en el libro de los reyes de Judá y de Israel. 27Y durmió Acaz con sus padres, y lo sepultaron en la ciudad de Jerusalén, pero no lo metieron en los sepulcros de los reyes de Israel; y reinó en su lugar Ezequías su hijo.

Ahaz Reigns in Judah

1 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And he did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as his father David had done, 2but he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel. He even made metal images for the Baals, 3and he made offerings in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom and burned his sons as an offering, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord drove out before the people of Israel. 4And he sacrificed and made offerings on the high places and on the hills and under every green tree.

Judah Defeated

5 Therefore the Lord his God gave him into the hand of the king of Syria, who defeated him and took captive a great number of his people and brought them to Damascus. He was also given into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with great force. 6For Pekah the son of Remaliah killed 120,000 from Judah in one day, all of them men of valor, because they had forsaken the Lord, the God of their fathers. 7And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, killed Maaseiah the king’s son and Azrikam the commander of the palace and Elkanah the next in authority to the king.

8The men of Israel took captive 200,000 of their relatives, women, sons, and daughters. They also took much spoil from them and brought the spoil to Samaria. 9But a prophet of the Lord was there, whose name was Oded, and he went out to meet the army that came to Samaria and said to them, “Behold, because the Lord, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, he gave them into your hand, but you have killed them in a rage that has reached up to heaven. 10And now you intend to subjugate the people of Judah and Jerusalem, male and female, as your slaves. Have you not sins of your own against the Lord your God? 11Now hear me, and send back the captives from your relatives whom you have taken, for the fierce wrath of the Lord is upon you.”

12Certain chiefs also of the men of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against those who were coming from the war 13and said to them, “You shall not bring the captives in here, for you propose to bring upon us guilt against the Lord in addition to our present sins and guilt. For our guilt is already great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.” 14So the armed men left the captives and the spoil before the princes and all the assembly. 15And the men who have been mentioned by name rose and took the captives, and with the spoil they clothed all who were naked among them. They clothed them, gave them sandals, provided them with food and drink, and anointed them, and carrying all the feeble among them on donkeys, they brought them to their kinsfolk at Jericho, the city of palm trees. Then they returned to Samaria.

16 At that time King Ahaz sent to the king of Assyria for help. 17For the Edomites had again invaded and defeated Judah and carried away captives. 18And the Philistines had made raids on the cities in the Shephelah and the Negeb of Judah, and had taken Beth-shemesh, Aijalon, Gederoth, Soco with its villages, Timnah with its villages, and Gimzo with its villages. And they settled there. 19For the Lord humbled Judah because of Ahaz king of Israel, for he had made Judah act sinfully and had been very unfaithful to the Lord. 20So Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria came against him and afflicted him instead of strengthening him. 21For Ahaz took a portion from the house of the Lord and the house of the king and of the princes, and gave tribute to the king of Assyria, but it did not help him.

Ahaz’s Idolatry

22In the time of his distress he became yet more faithless to the Lord—this same King Ahaz. 23For he sacrificed to the gods of Damascus that had defeated him and said, “Because the gods of the kings of Syria helped them, I will sacrifice to them that they may help me.” But they were the ruin of him and of all Israel. 24And Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and he shut up the doors of the house of the Lord, and he made himself altars in every corner of Jerusalem. 25In every city of Judah he made high places to make offerings to other gods, provoking to anger the Lord, the God of his fathers. 26Now the rest of his acts and all his ways, from first to last, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel. 27And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, in Jerusalem, for they did not bring him into the tombs of the kings of Israel. And Hezekiah his son reigned in his place.
