제 29 장

유다 왕 히스기야의 성전 정화(왕하 18:1-3)

1   히스기야가 왕위에 오를 때에 나이가 이십오 세라 예루살렘에서 이십구 년 동안 다스리니라 그의 어머니의 이름은 아비야요 스가랴의 딸이더라

2   히스기야가 그의 조상 다윗의 모든 행실과 같이 여호와 보시기에 정직하게 행하여

3   첫째 해 첫째 달에 여호와의 전 문들을 열고 수리하고

4   제사장들과 레위 사람들을 동쪽 광장에 모으고

5   그들에게 이르되 레위 사람들아 내 말을 들으라 이제 너희는 성결하게 하고 또 너희 조상들의 하나님 여호와의 전을 성결하게 하여 그 더러운 것을 성소에서 없애라

6   우리 조상들이 범죄하여 우리 하나님 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하여 하나님을 버리고 얼굴을 돌려 여호와의 성소를 등지고

7   또 낭실 문을 닫으며 등불을 끄고 성소에서 분향하지 아니하며 이스라엘의 하나님께 번제를 드리지 아니하므로

8   여호와께서 유다와 예루살렘에 진노하시고 내버리사 두려움과 놀람과 비웃음거리가 되게 하신 것을 너희가 똑똑히 보는 바라

9   이로 말미암아 우리의 조상들이 칼에 엎드러지며 우리의 자녀와 아내들이 사로잡혔느니라

10   이제 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와와 더불어 언약을 세워 그 맹렬한 노를 우리에게서 떠나게 할 마음이 내게 있노니

11   내 아들들아 이제는 게으르지 말라 여호와께서 이미 너희를 택하사 그 앞에 서서 수종들어 그를 섬기며 분향하게 하셨느니라

12   이에 레위 사람들이 일어나니 곧 그핫의 자손 중 아마새의 아들 마핫과 아사랴의 아들 요엘과 므라리의 자손 중 압디의 아들 기스와 여할렐렐의 아들 아사랴와 게르손 사람 중 심마의 아들 요아와 요아의 아들 에덴과

13   엘리사반의 자손 중 시므리와 여우엘과 아삽의 자손 중 스가랴와 맛다냐와

14   헤만의 자손 중 여후엘과 시므이와 여두둔의 자손 중 스마야와 웃시엘이라

15   그들이 그들의 형제들을 모아 성결하게 하고 들어가서 왕이 여호와의 말씀대로 명령한 것을 따라 여호와의 전을 깨끗하게 할새

16   제사장들도 여호와의 전 안에 들어가서 깨끗하게 하여 여호와의 전에 있는 모든 더러운 것을 끌어내어 여호와의 전 뜰에 이르매 레위 사람들이 받아 바깥 기드론 시내로 가져갔더라

17   첫째 달 초하루에 성결하게 하기를 시작하여 그 달 초팔일에 여호와의 낭실에 이르고 또 팔 일 동안 여호와의 전을 성결하게 하여 첫째 달 십육 일에 이르러 마치고

18   안으로 들어가서 히스기야 왕을 보고 이르되 우리가 여호와의 온 전과 번제단과 그 모든 그릇들과 떡을 진설하는 상과 그 모든 그릇들을 깨끗하게 하였고

19   또 아하스 왕이 왕위에 있어 범죄할 때에 버린 모든 그릇들도 우리가 정돈하고 성결하게 하여 여호와의 제단 앞에 두었나이다 하니라

성전의 일이 갖추어지다

20   히스기야 왕이 일찍이 일어나 성읍의 귀인들을 모아 여호와의 전에 올라가서

21   수송아지 일곱 마리와 숫양 일곱 마리와 어린 양 일곱 마리와 숫염소 일곱 마리를 끌어다가 나라와 성소와 유다를 위하여 속죄제물로 삼고 아론의 자손 제사장들을 명령하여 여호와의 제단에 드리게 하니

22   이에 수소를 잡으매 제사장들이 그 피를 받아 제단에 뿌리고 또 숫양들을 잡으매 그 피를 제단에 뿌리고 또 어린 양들을 잡으매 그 피를 제단에 뿌리고

23   이에 속죄제물로 드릴 숫염소들을 왕과 회중 앞으로 끌어오매 그들이 그 위에 안수하고

24   제사장들이 잡아 그 피를 속죄제로 삼아 제단에 드려 온 이스라엘을 위하여 속죄하니 이는 왕이 명령하여 온 이스라엘을 위하여 번제와 속죄제를 드리게 하였음이더라

25   왕이 레위 사람들을 여호와의 전에 두어서 다윗과 왕의 선견자 갓과 선지자 나단이 명령한 대로 제금과 비파와 수금을 잡게 하니 이는 여호와께서 그의 선지자들로 이렇게 명령하셨음이라

26   레위 사람은 다윗의 악기를 잡고 제사장은 나팔을 잡고 서매

27   히스기야가 명령하여 번제를 제단에 드릴새 번제 드리기를 시작하는 동시에 여호와의 시로 노래하고 나팔을 불며 이스라엘 왕 다윗의 악기를 울리고

28   온 회중이 경배하며 노래하는 자들은 노래하고 나팔 부는 자들은 나팔을 불어 번제를 마치기까지 이르니라

29   제사 드리기를 마치매 왕과 그와 함께 있는 자들이 다 엎드려 경배하니라

30   히스기야 왕이 귀인들과 더불어 레위 사람을 명령하여 다윗과 선견자 아삽의 시로 여호와를 찬송하게 하매 그들이 즐거움으로 찬송하고 몸을 굽혀 예배하니라

31   이에 히스기야가 말하여 이르되 너희가 이제 스스로 몸을 깨끗하게 하여 여호와께 드렸으니 마땅히 나아와 제물과 감사제물을 여호와의 전으로 가져오라 하니 회중이 제물과 감사제물을 가져오되 무릇 마음에 원하는 자는 또한 번제물도 가져오니

32   회중이 가져온 번제물의 수효는 수소가 칠십 마리요 숫양이 백 마리요 어린 양이 이백 마리이니 이는 다 여호와께 번제물로 드리는 것이며

33   또 구별하여 드린 소가 육백 마리요 양이 삼천 마리라

34   그런데 제사장이 부족하여 그 모든 번제 짐승들의 가죽을 능히 벗기지 못하는 고로 그의 형제 레위 사람들이 그 일을 마치기까지 돕고 다른 제사장들이 성결하게 하기까지 기다렸으니 이는 레위 사람들의 성결하게 함이 제사장들보다 성심이 있었음이라

35   번제와 화목제의 기름과 각 번제에 속한 전제들이 많더라 이와 같이 여호와의 전에서 섬기는 일이 순서대로 갖추어지니라

36   이 일이 갑자기 되었으나 하나님께서 백성을 위하여 예비하셨으므로 히스기야가 백성과 더불어 기뻐하였더라

Reinado de Ezequías

(2 R. 18.1-3)

1Comenzó a reinar Ezequías siendo de veinticinco años, y reinó veintinueve años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Abías, hija de Zacarías. 2E hizo lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, conforme a todas las cosas que había hecho David su padre.

Ezequías restablece el culto del templo

3En el primer año de su reinado, en el mes primero, abrió las puertas de la casa de Jehová, y las reparó. 4E hizo venir a los sacerdotes y levitas, y los reunió en la plaza oriental. 5Y les dijo: ¡Oídme, levitas! Santificaos ahora, y santificad la casa de Jehová el Dios de vuestros padres, y sacad del santuario la inmundicia. 6Porque nuestros padres se han rebelado, y han hecho lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová nuestro Dios; porque le dejaron, y apartaron sus rostros del tabernáculo de Jehová, y le volvieron las espaldas. 7Y aun cerraron las puertas del pórtico, y apagaron las lámparas; no quemaron incienso, ni sacrificaron holocausto en el santuario al Dios de Israel. 8Por tanto, la ira de Jehová ha venido sobre Judá y Jerusalén, y los ha entregado a turbación, a execración y a escarnio, como veis vosotros con vuestros ojos. 9Y he aquí nuestros padres han caído a espada, y nuestros hijos, nuestras hijas y nuestras mujeres fueron llevados cautivos por esto. 10Ahora, pues, yo he determinado hacer pacto con Jehová el Dios de Israel, para que aparte de nosotros el ardor de su ira. 11Hijos míos, no os engañéis ahora, porque Jehová os ha escogido a vosotros para que estéis delante de él y le sirváis, y seáis sus ministros, y le queméis incienso.

12Entonces se levantaron los levitas Mahat hijo de Amasai y Joel hijo de Azarías, de los hijos de Coat; de los hijos de Merari, Cis hijo de Abdi y Azarías hijo de Jehalelel; de los hijos de Gersón, Joa hijo de Zima y Edén hijo de Joa; 13de los hijos de Elizafán, Simri y Jeiel; de los hijos de Asaf, Zacarías y Matanías; 14de los hijos de Hemán, Jehiel y Simei; y de los hijos de Jedutún, Semaías y Uziel. 15Estos reunieron a sus hermanos, y se santificaron, y entraron, conforme al mandamiento del rey y las palabras de Jehová, para limpiar la casa de Jehová. 16Y entrando los sacerdotes dentro de la casa de Jehová para limpiarla, sacaron toda la inmundicia que hallaron en el templo de Jehová, al atrio de la casa de Jehová; y de allí los levitas la llevaron fuera al torrente de Cedrón. 17Comenzaron a santificarse el día primero del mes primero, y a los ocho del mismo mes vinieron al pórtico de Jehová; y santificaron la casa de Jehová en ocho días, y en el día dieciséis del mes primero terminaron. 18Entonces vinieron al rey Ezequías y le dijeron: Ya hemos limpiado toda la casa de Jehová, el altar del holocausto, y todos sus instrumentos, y la mesa de la proposición con todos sus utensilios. 19Asimismo hemos preparado y santificado todos los utensilios que en su infidelidad había desechado el rey Acaz, cuando reinaba; y he aquí están delante del altar de Jehová.

20Y levantándose de mañana, el rey Ezequías reunió los principales de la ciudad, y subió a la casa de Jehová. 21Y presentaron siete novillos, siete carneros, siete corderos y siete machos cabríos para expiación por el reino, por el santuario y por Judá. Y dijo a los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón que los ofreciesen sobre el altar de Jehová. 22Mataron, pues, los novillos, y los sacerdotes recibieron la sangre, y la esparcieron sobre el altar; mataron luego los carneros, y esparcieron la sangre sobre el altar; asimismo mataron los corderos, y esparcieron la sangre sobre el altar. 23Después hicieron acercar delante del rey y de la multitud los machos cabríos para la expiación, y pusieron sobre ellos sus manos; 24y los sacerdotes los mataron, e hicieron ofrenda de expiación con la sangre de ellos sobre el altar, para reconciliar a todo Israel; porque por todo Israel mandó el rey hacer el holocausto y la expiación.

25Puso también levitas en la casa de Jehová con címbalos, salterios y arpas, conforme al mandamiento de David, de Gad vidente del rey, y del profeta Natán, porque aquel mandamiento procedía de Jehová por medio de sus profetas. 26Y los levitas estaban con los instrumentos de David, y los sacerdotes con trompetas. 27Entonces mandó Ezequías sacrificar el holocausto en el altar; y cuando comenzó el holocausto, comenzó también el cántico de Jehová, con las trompetas y los instrumentos de David rey de Israel. 28Y toda la multitud adoraba, y los cantores cantaban, y los trompeteros sonaban las trompetas; todo esto duró hasta consumirse el holocausto. 29Y cuando acabaron de ofrecer, se inclinó el rey, y todos los que con él estaban, y adoraron. 30Entonces el rey Ezequías y los príncipes dijeron a los levitas que alabasen a Jehová con las palabras de David y de Asaf vidente; y ellos alabaron con gran alegría, y se inclinaron y adoraron.

31Y respondiendo Ezequías, dijo: Vosotros os habéis consagrado ahora a Jehová; acercaos, pues, y presentad sacrificios y alabanzas en la casa de Jehová. Y la multitud presentó sacrificios y alabanzas; y todos los generosos de corazón trajeron holocaustos. 32Y fue el número de los holocaustos que trajo la congregación, setenta bueyes, cien carneros y doscientos corderos, todo para el holocausto de Jehová. 33Y las ofrendas fueron seiscientos bueyes y tres mil ovejas. 34Mas los sacerdotes eran pocos, y no bastaban para desollar los holocaustos; y así sus hermanos los levitas les ayudaron hasta que acabaron la obra, y hasta que los demás sacerdotes se santificaron; porque los levitas fueron más rectos de corazón para santificarse que los sacerdotes. 35Así, pues, hubo abundancia de holocaustos, con grosura de las ofrendas de paz, y libaciones para cada holocausto. Y quedó restablecido el servicio de la casa de Jehová. 36Y se alegró Ezequías con todo el pueblo, de que Dios hubiese preparado el pueblo; porque la cosa fue hecha rápidamente.

Hezekiah Reigns in Judah

1 Hezekiah began to reign when he was twenty-five years old, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Abijah the daughter of Zechariah. 2And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, according to all that David his father had done.

Hezekiah Cleanses the Temple

3In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the Lord and repaired them. 4He brought in the priests and the Levites and assembled them in the square on the east 5and said to them, “Hear me, Levites! Now consecrate yourselves, and consecrate the house of the Lord, the God of your fathers, and carry out the filth from the Holy Place. 6For our fathers have been unfaithful and have done what was evil in the sight of the Lord our God. They have forsaken him and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the Lord and turned their backs. 7They also shut the doors of the vestibule and put out the lamps and have not burned incense or offered burnt offerings in the Holy Place to the God of Israel. 8Therefore the wrath of the Lord came on Judah and Jerusalem, and he has made them an object of horror, of astonishment, and of hissing, as you see with your own eyes. 9For behold, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this. 10Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with the Lord, the God of Israel, in order that his fierce anger may turn away from us. 11My sons, do not now be negligent, for the Lord has chosen you to stand in his presence, to minister to him and to be his ministers and make offerings to him.”

12Then the Levites arose, Mahath the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathites; and of the sons of Merari, Kish the son of Abdi, and Azariah the son of Jehallelel; and of the Gershonites, Joah the son of Zimmah, and Eden the son of Joah; 13and of the sons of Elizaphan, Shimri and Jeuel; and of the sons of Asaph, Zechariah and Mattaniah; 14and of the sons of Heman, Jehuel and Shimei; and of the sons of Jeduthun, Shemaiah and Uzziel. 15They gathered their brothers and consecrated themselves and went in as the king had commanded, by the words of the Lord, to cleanse the house of the Lord. 16The priests went into the inner part of the house of the Lord to cleanse it, and they brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the Lord into the court of the house of the Lord. And the Levites took it and carried it out to the brook Kidron. 17They began to consecrate on the first day of the first month, and on the eighth day of the month they came to the vestibule of the Lord. Then for eight days they consecrated the house of the Lord, and on the sixteenth day of the first month they finished. 18Then they went in to Hezekiah the king and said, “We have cleansed all the house of the Lord, the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the table for the showbread and all its utensils. 19All the utensils that King Ahaz discarded in his reign when he was faithless, we have made ready and consecrated, and behold, they are before the altar of the Lord.”

Hezekiah Restores Temple Worship

20Then Hezekiah the king rose early and gathered the officials of the city and went up to the house of the Lord. 21And they brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven male goats for a sin offering for the kingdom and for the sanctuary and for Judah. And he commanded the priests, the sons of Aaron, to offer them on the altar of the Lord. 22So they slaughtered the bulls, and the priests received the blood and threw it against the altar. And they slaughtered the rams, and their blood was thrown against the altar. And they slaughtered the lambs, and their blood was thrown against the altar. 23Then the goats for the sin offering were brought to the king and the assembly, and they laid their hands on them, 24and the priests slaughtered them and made a sin offering with their blood on the altar, to make atonement for all Israel. For the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.

25 And he stationed the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, harps, and lyres, according to the commandment of David and of Gad the king’s seer and of Nathan the prophet, for the commandment was from the Lord through his prophets. 26The Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets. 27Then Hezekiah commanded that the burnt offering be offered on the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song to the Lord began also, and the trumpets, accompanied by the instruments of David king of Israel. 28The whole assembly worshiped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded. All this continued until the burnt offering was finished. 29When the offering was finished, the king and all who were present with him bowed themselves and worshiped. 30And Hezekiah the king and the officials commanded the Levites to sing praises to the Lord with the words of David and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed down and worshiped.

31Then Hezekiah said, “You have now consecrated yourselves to the Lord. Come near; bring sacrifices and thank offerings to the house of the Lord.” And the assembly brought sacrifices and thank offerings, and all who were of a willing heart brought burnt offerings. 32The number of the burnt offerings that the assembly brought was 70 bulls, 100 rams, and 200 lambs; all these were for a burnt offering to the Lord. 33And the consecrated offerings were 600 bulls and 3,000 sheep. 34But the priests were too few and could not flay all the burnt offerings, so until other priests had consecrated themselves, their brothers the Levites helped them, until the work was finished—for the Levites were more upright in heart than the priests in consecrating themselves. 35Besides the great number of burnt offerings, there was the fat of the peace offerings, and there were the drink offerings for the burnt offerings. Thus the service of the house of the Lord was restored. 36And Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced because God had provided for the people, for the thing came about suddenly.
