제 35 장

요시야가 유월절을 지키다(왕하 23:21-23)

1   요시야가 예루살렘에서 여호와께 유월절을 지켜 첫째 달 열넷째 날에 유월절 어린 양을 잡으니라

2   왕이 제사장들에게 그들의 직분을 맡기고 격려하여 여호와의 전에서 직무를 수행하게 하고

3   또 여호와 앞에 구별되어서 온 이스라엘을 가르치는 레위 사람에게 이르되 거룩한 궤를 이스라엘 왕 다윗의 아들 솔로몬이 건축한 전 가운데 두고 다시는 너희 어깨에 메지 말고 마땅히 너희의 하나님 여호와와 그의 백성 이스라엘을 섬길 것이라

4   너희는 이스라엘 왕 다윗의 글과 다윗의 아들 솔로몬의 글을 준행하여 너희 족속대로 반열을 따라 스스로 준비하고

5   너희 형제 모든 백성의 족속의 서열대로 또는 레위 족속의 서열대로 성소에 서서

6   스스로 성결하게 하고 유월절 어린 양을 잡아 너희 형제들을 위하여 준비하되 여호와께서 모세를 통하여 전하신 말씀을 따라 행할지니라

7   요시야가 그 모인 모든 이를 위하여 백성들에게 자기의 소유 양 떼 중에서 어린 양과 어린 염소 삼만 마리와 수소 삼천 마리를 내어 유월절 제물로 주매

8   방백들도 즐거이 희생을 드려 백성과 제사장들과 레위 사람들에게 주었고 하나님의 전을 주장하는 자 힐기야와 스가랴와 여히엘은 제사장들에게 양 이천육백 마리와 수소 삼백 마리를 유월절 제물로 주었고

9   또 레위 사람들의 우두머리들 곧 고나냐와 그의 형제 스마야와 느다넬과 또 하사뱌와 여이엘과 요사밧은 양 오천 마리와 수소 오백 마리를 레위 사람들에게 유월절 제물로 주었더라

10   이와 같이 섬길 일이 구비되매 왕의 명령을 따라 제사장들은 그들의 처소에 서고 레위 사람들은 그들의 반열대로 서고

11   유월절 양을 잡으니 제사장들은 그들의 손에서 피를 받아 뿌리고 또 레위 사람들은 잡은 짐승의 가죽을 벗기고

12   그 번제물을 옮겨 족속의 서열대로 모든 백성에게 나누어 모세의 책에 기록된 대로 여호와께 드리게 하고 소도 그와 같이 하고

13   이에 규례대로 유월절 양을 불에 굽고 그 나머지 성물은 솥과 가마와 냄비에 삶아 모든 백성들에게 속히 분배하고

14   그 후에 자기와 제사장들을 위하여 준비하니 이는 아론의 자손 제사장들이 번제와 기름을 저녁까지 드리므로 레위 사람들이 자기와 아론의 자손 제사장들을 위하여 준비함이더라

15   아삽의 자손 노래하는 자들은 다윗과 아삽과 헤만과 왕의 선견자 여두둔이 명령한 대로 자기 처소에 있고 문지기들은 각 문에 있고 그 직무에서 떠날 것이 없었으니 이는 그의 형제 레위 사람들이 그들을 위하여 준비하였음이더라

16   이와 같이 당일에 여호와를 섬길 일이 다 준비되매 요시야 왕의 명령대로 유월절을 지키며 번제를 여호와의 제단에 드렸으며

17   그 때에 모인 이스라엘 자손이 유월절을 지키고 이어서 무교절을 칠 일 동안 지켰으니

18   선지자 사무엘 이후로 이스라엘 가운데서 유월절을 이같이 지키지 못하였고 이스라엘 모든 왕들도 요시야가 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 모인 온 유다와 이스라엘 무리와 예루살렘 주민과 함께 지킨 것처럼은 유월절을 지키지 못하였더라

19   요시야가 왕위에 있은 지 열여덟째 해에 이 유월절을 지켰더라

요시야가 죽다(왕하 23:28-30)

20   이 모든 일 후 곧 요시야가 성전을 정돈하기를 마친 후에 애굽 왕 느고가 유브라데 강 가의 갈그미스를 치러 올라왔으므로 요시야가 나가서 방비하였더니

21   느고가 요시야에게 사신을 보내어 이르되 유다 왕이여 내가 그대와 무슨 관계가 있느냐 내가 오늘 그대를 치려는 것이 아니요 나와 더불어 싸우는 족속을 치려는 것이라 하나님이 나에게 명령하사 속히 하라 하셨은즉 하나님이 나와 함께 계시니 그대는 하나님을 거스르지 말라 그대를 멸하실까 하노라 하나

22   요시야가 몸을 돌이켜 떠나기를 싫어하고 오히려 변장하고 그와 싸우고자 하여 하나님의 입에서 나온 느고의 말을 듣지 아니하고 므깃도 골짜기에 이르러 싸울 때에

23   활 쏘는 자가 요시야 왕을 쏜지라 왕이 그의 신하들에게 이르되 내가 중상을 입었으니 나를 도와 나가게 하라

24   그 부하들이 그를 병거에서 내리게 하고 그의 버금 병거에 태워 예루살렘에 이른 후에 그가 죽으니 그의 조상들의 묘실에 장사되니라 온 유다와 예루살렘 사람들이 요시야를 슬퍼하고

25   예레미야는 그를 위하여 애가를 지었으며 모든 노래하는 남자들과 여자들은 요시야를 슬피 노래하니 이스라엘에 규례가 되어 오늘까지 이르렀으며 그 가사는 애가 중에 기록되었더라

26   요시야의 남은 사적과 여호와의 율법에 기록된 대로 행한 모든 선한 일과

27   그의 처음부터 끝까지의 행적은 이스라엘과 유다 열왕기에 기록되니라

Josías celebra la pascua

(2 R. 23.21-23)

1Josías celebró la pascua a Jehová en Jerusalén, y sacrificaron la pascua a los catorce días del mes primero. 2Puso también a los sacerdotes en sus oficios, y los confirmó en el ministerio de la casa de Jehová. 3Y dijo a los levitas que enseñaban a todo Israel, y que estaban dedicados a Jehová: Poned el arca santa en la casa que edificó Salomón hijo de David, rey de Israel, para que no la carguéis más sobre los hombros. Ahora servid a Jehová vuestro Dios, y a su pueblo Israel. 4Preparaos según las familias de vuestros padres, por vuestros turnos, como lo ordenaron David rey de Israel y Salomón su hijo. 5Estad en el santuario según la distribución de las familias de vuestros hermanos los hijos del pueblo, y según la distribución de la familia de los levitas. 6Sacrificad luego la pascua; y después de santificaros, preparad a vuestros hermanos para que hagan conforme a la palabra de Jehová dada por medio de Moisés.

7Y dio el rey Josías a los del pueblo ovejas, corderos y cabritos de los rebaños, en número de treinta mil, y tres mil bueyes, todo para la pascua, para todos los que se hallaron presentes; esto de la hacienda del rey. 8También sus príncipes dieron con liberalidad al pueblo y a los sacerdotes y levitas. Hilcías, Zacarías y Jehiel, oficiales de la casa de Dios, dieron a los sacerdotes, para celebrar la pascua, dos mil seiscientas ovejas y trescientos bueyes. 9Asimismo Conanías, y Semaías y Natanael sus hermanos, y Hasabías, Jeiel y Josabad, jefes de los levitas, dieron a los levitas, para los sacrificios de la pascua, cinco mil ovejas y quinientos bueyes.

10Preparado así el servicio, los sacerdotes se colocaron en sus puestos, y asimismo los levitas en sus turnos, conforme al mandamiento del rey. 11Y sacrificaron la pascua; y esparcían los sacerdotes la sangre recibida de mano de los levitas, y los levitas desollaban las víctimas. 12Tomaron luego del holocausto, para dar conforme a los repartimientos de las familias del pueblo, a fin de que ofreciesen a Jehová según está escrito en el libro de Moisés; y asimismo tomaron de los bueyes. 13Y asaron la pascua al fuego conforme a la ordenanza; mas lo que había sido santificado lo cocieron en ollas, en calderos y sartenes, y lo repartieron rápidamente a todo el pueblo. 14Después prepararon para ellos mismos y para los sacerdotes; porque los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón, estuvieron ocupados hasta la noche en el sacrificio de los holocaustos y de las grosuras; por tanto, los levitas prepararon para ellos mismos y para los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón. 15Asimismo los cantores hijos de Asaf estaban en su puesto, conforme al mandamiento de David, de Asaf y de Hemán, y de Jedutún vidente del rey; también los porteros estaban a cada puerta; y no era necesario que se apartasen de su ministerio, porque sus hermanos los levitas preparaban para ellos.

16Así fue preparado todo el servicio de Jehová en aquel día, para celebrar la pascua y para sacrificar los holocaustos sobre el altar de Jehová, conforme al mandamiento del rey Josías. 17Y los hijos de Israel que estaban allí celebraron la pascua en aquel tiempo, y la fiesta solemne de los panes sin levadura por siete días. 18Nunca fue celebrada una pascua como esta en Israel desde los días de Samuel el profeta; ni ningún rey de Israel celebró pascua tal como la que celebró el rey Josías, con los sacerdotes y levitas, y todo Judá e Israel, los que se hallaron allí, juntamente con los moradores de Jerusalén. 19Esta pascua fue celebrada en el año dieciocho del rey Josías.

Muerte de Josías

(2 R. 23.28-30)

20Después de todas estas cosas, luego de haber reparado Josías la casa de Jehová, Necao rey de Egipto subió para hacer guerra en Carquemis junto al Éufrates; y salió Josías contra él. 21Y Necao le envió mensajeros, diciendo: ¿Qué tengo yo contigo, rey de Judá? Yo no vengo contra ti hoy, sino contra la casa que me hace guerra; y Dios me ha dicho que me apresure. Deja de oponerte a Dios, quien está conmigo, no sea que él te destruya. 22Mas Josías no se retiró, sino que se disfrazó para darle batalla, y no atendió a las palabras de Necao, que eran de boca de Dios; y vino a darle batalla en el campo de Meguido. 23Y los flecheros tiraron contra el rey Josías. Entonces dijo el rey a sus siervos: Quitadme de aquí, porque estoy gravemente herido. 24Entonces sus siervos lo sacaron de aquel carro, y lo pusieron en un segundo carro que tenía, y lo llevaron a Jerusalén, donde murió; y lo sepultaron en los sepulcros de sus padres. Y todo Judá y Jerusalén hicieron duelo por Josías. 25Y Jeremías endechó en memoria de Josías. Todos los cantores y cantoras recitan esas lamentaciones sobre Josías hasta hoy; y las tomaron por norma para endechar en Israel, las cuales están escritas en el libro de Lamentos. 26Los demás hechos de Josías, y sus obras piadosas conforme a lo que está escrito en la ley de Jehová, 27y sus hechos, primeros y postreros, he aquí están escritos en el libro de los reyes de Israel y de Judá.

Josiah Keeps the Passover

1 Josiah kept a Passover to the Lord in Jerusalem. And they slaughtered the Passover lamb on the fourteenth day of the first month. 2He appointed the priests to their offices and encouraged them in the service of the house of the Lord. 3And he said to the Levites who taught all Israel and who were holy to the Lord, “Put the holy ark in the house that Solomon the son of David, king of Israel, built. You need not carry it on your shoulders. Now serve the Lord your God and his people Israel. 4Prepare yourselves according to your fathers’ houses by your divisions, as prescribed in the writing of David king of Israel and the document of Solomon his son. 5And stand in the Holy Place according to the groupings of the fathers’ houses of your brothers the lay people, and according to the division of the Levites by fathers’ household. 6And slaughter the Passover lamb, and consecrate yourselves, and prepare for your brothers, to do according to the word of the Lord by Moses.”

7Then Josiah contributed to the lay people, as Passover offerings for all who were present, lambs and young goats from the flock to the number of 30,000, and 3,000 bulls; these were from the king’s possessions. 8And his officials contributed willingly to the people, to the priests, and to the Levites. Hilkiah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, the chief officers of the house of God, gave to the priests for the Passover offerings 2,600 Passover lambs and 300 bulls. 9Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethanel his brothers, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, the chiefs of the Levites, gave to the Levites for the Passover offerings 5,000 lambs and young goats and 500 bulls.

10When the service had been prepared for, the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their divisions according to the king’s command. 11And they slaughtered the Passover lamb, and the priests threw the blood that they received from them while the Levites flayed the sacrifices. 12And they set aside the burnt offerings that they might distribute them according to the groupings of the fathers’ houses of the lay people, to offer to the Lord, as it is written in the Book of Moses. And so they did with the bulls. 13And they roasted the Passover lamb with fire according to the rule; and they boiled the holy offerings in pots, in cauldrons, and in pans, and carried them quickly to all the lay people. 14And afterward they prepared for themselves and for the priests, because the priests, the sons of Aaron, were offering the burnt offerings and the fat parts until night; so the Levites prepared for themselves and for the priests, the sons of Aaron. 15The singers, the sons of Asaph, were in their place according to the command of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer; and the gatekeepers were at each gate. They did not need to depart from their service, for their brothers the Levites prepared for them.

16So all the service of the Lord was prepared that day, to keep the Passover and to offer burnt offerings on the altar of the Lord, according to the command of King Josiah. 17And the people of Israel who were present kept the Passover at that time, and the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days. 18No Passover like it had been kept in Israel since the days of Samuel the prophet. None of the kings of Israel had kept such a Passover as was kept by Josiah, and the priests and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel who were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 19In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah this Passover was kept.

Josiah Killed in Battle

20 After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Neco king of Egypt went up to fight at Carchemish on the Euphrates, and Josiah went out to meet him. 21But he sent envoys to him, saying, “What have we to do with each other, king of Judah? I am not coming against you this day, but against the house with which I am at war. And God has commanded me to hurry. Cease opposing God, who is with me, lest he destroy you.”

22Nevertheless, Josiah did not turn away from him, but disguised himself in order to fight with him. He did not listen to the words of Neco from the mouth of God, but came to fight in the plain of Megiddo. 23And the archers shot King Josiah. And the king said to his servants, “Take me away, for I am badly wounded.” 24So his servants took him out of the chariot and carried him in his second chariot and brought him to Jerusalem. And he died and was buried in the tombs of his fathers. All Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah. 25Jeremiah also uttered a lament for Josiah; and all the singing men and singing women have spoken of Josiah in their laments to this day. They made these a rule in Israel; behold, they are written in the Laments. 26Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his good deeds according to what is written in the Law of the Lord, 27and his acts, first and last, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.
