제 36 장

유다 왕 여호아하스(왕하 23:30-35)

1   그 땅의 백성이 요시야의 아들 여호아하스를 세워 그의 아버지를 대신하여 예루살렘에서 왕으로 삼으니

2   여호아하스가 왕위에 오를 때에 나이가 이십삼 세더라 그가 예루살렘에서 다스린 지 석 달에

3   애굽 왕이 예루살렘에서 그의 왕위를 폐하고 또 그 나라에 은 백 달란트와 금 한 달란트를 벌금으로 내게 하며

4   애굽 왕 느고가 또 그의 형제 엘리아김을 세워 유다와 예루살렘 왕으로 삼고 그의 이름을 고쳐 여호야김이라 하고 그의 형제 여호아하스를 애굽으로 잡아갔더라

유다 왕 여호야김(왕하 23:36-24:7)

5   여호야김이 왕위에 오를 때에 나이가 이십오 세라 예루살렘에서 십일 년 동안 다스리며 그의 하나님 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였더라

6   바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 올라와서 그를 치고 그를 쇠사슬로 결박하여 바벨론으로 잡아가고

7   느부갓네살이 또 여호와의 전 기구들을 바벨론으로 가져다가 바벨론에 있는 자기 신당에 두었더라

8   여호야김의 남은 사적과 그가 행한 모든 가증한 일들과 그에게 발견된 악행이 이스라엘과 유다 열왕기에 기록되니라 그의 아들 여호야긴이 대신하여 왕이 되니라

유다 왕 여호야긴(왕하 24:8-17)

9   여호야긴이 왕위에 오를 때에 나이가 팔 세라 예루살렘에서 석달 열흘 동안 다스리며 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였더라

10   그 해에 느부갓네살 왕이 사람을 보내어 여호야긴을 바벨론으로 잡아가고 여호와의 전의 귀한 그릇들도 함께 가져가고 그의 숙부 시드기야를 세워 유다와 예루살렘 왕으로 삼았더라

유다 왕 시드기야(왕하 24:18-20; 25:1-21; 렘 52:1-11)

11   시드기야가 왕위에 오를 때에 나이가 이십일 세라 예루살렘에서 십일 년 동안 다스리며

12   그의 하나님 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하고 선지자 예레미야가 여호와의 말씀으로 일러도 그 앞에서 겸손하지 아니하였으며

13   또한 느부갓네살 왕이 그를 그의 하나님을 가리켜 맹세하게 하였으나 그가 왕을 배반하고 목을 곧게 하며 마음을 완악하게 하여 이스라엘 하나님 여호와께로 돌아오지 아니하였고

14   모든 제사장들의 우두머리들과 백성도 크게 범죄하여 이방 모든 가증한 일을 따라서 여호와께서 예루살렘에 거룩하게 두신 그의 전을 더럽게 하였으며

15   그 조상들의 하나님 여호와께서 그의 백성과 그 거하시는 곳을 아끼사 부지런히 그의 사신들을 그 백성에게 보내어 이르셨으나

16   그의 백성이 하나님의 사신들을 비웃고 그의 말씀을 멸시하며 그의 선지자를 욕하여 여호와의 진노를 그의 백성에게 미치게 하여 회복할 수 없게 하였으므로

17   하나님이 갈대아 왕의 손에 그들을 다 넘기시매 그가 와서 그들의 성전에서 칼로 청년들을 죽이며 청년 남녀와 노인과 병약한 사람을 긍휼히 여기지 아니하였으며

18   또 하나님의 전의 대소 그릇들과 여호와의 전의 보물과 왕과 방백들의 보물을 다 바벨론으로 가져가고

19   또 하나님의 전을 불사르며 예루살렘 성벽을 헐며 그들의 모든 궁실을 불사르며 그들의 모든 귀한 그릇들을 부수고

20   칼에서 살아 남은 자를 그가 바벨론으로 사로잡아가매 무리가 거기서 갈대아 왕과 그의 자손의 노예가 되어 바사국이 통치할 때까지 이르니라

21   이에 토지가 황폐하여 땅이 안식년을 누림 같이 안식하여 칠십 년을 지냈으니 여호와께서 예레미야의 입으로 하신 말씀이 이루어졌더라

고레스의 귀국 명령(스 1:1-4)

22   바사의 고레스 왕 원년에 여호와께서 예레미야의 입으로 하신 말씀을 이루시려고 여호와께서 바사의 고레스 왕의 마음을 감동시키시매 그가 온 나라에 공포도 하고 조서도 내려 이르되

23   바사 왕 고레스가 이같이 말하노니 하늘의 신 여호와께서 세상 만국을 내게 주셨고 나에게 명령하여 유다 예루살렘에 성전을 건축하라 하셨나니 너희 중에 그의 백성된 자는 다 올라갈지어다 너희 하나님 여호와께서 함께 하시기를 원하노라 하였더라

Reinado y destronamiento de Joacaz

(2 R. 23.31-35)

1Entonces el pueblo de la tierra tomó a Joacaz hijo de Josías, y lo hizo rey en lugar de su padre en Jerusalén. 2De veintitrés años era Joacaz cuando comenzó a reinar, y tres meses reinó en Jerusalén. 3Y el rey de Egipto lo quitó de Jerusalén, y condenó la tierra a pagar cien talentos de plata y uno de oro. 4Y estableció el rey de Egipto a Eliaquim hermano de Joacaz por rey sobre Judá y Jerusalén, y le mudó el nombre en Joacim; y a Joacaz su hermano tomó Necao, y lo llevó a Egipto.

Reinado de Joacim

(2 R. 23.36—24.7)

5Cuando comenzó a reinar Joacim era de veinticinco años, y reinó once años en Jerusalén; e hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová su Dios. 6Y subió contra él Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, y lo llevó a Babilonia atado con cadenas. 7También llevó Nabucodonosor a Babilonia de los utensilios de la casa de Jehová, y los puso en su templo en Babilonia. 8Los demás hechos de Joacim, y las abominaciones que hizo, y lo que en él se halló, está escrito en el libro de los reyes de Israel y de Judá; y reinó en su lugar Joaquín su hijo.

Joaquín es llevado cautivo a Babilonia

(2 R. 24.8-17)

9De ocho años era Joaquín cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó tres meses y diez días en Jerusalén; e hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová. 10A la vuelta del año el rey Nabucodonosor envió y lo hizo llevar a Babilonia, juntamente con los objetos preciosos de la casa de Jehová, y constituyó a Sedequías su hermano por rey sobre Judá y Jerusalén.

Reinado de Sedequías

(2 R. 24.18-20; Jer. 52.1-3)

11De veintiún años era Sedequías cuando comenzó a reinar, y once años reinó en Jerusalén. 12E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová su Dios, y no se humilló delante del profeta Jeremías, que le hablaba de parte de Jehová. 13Se rebeló asimismo contra Nabucodonosor, al cual había jurado por Dios; y endureció su cerviz, y obstinó su corazón para no volverse a Jehová el Dios de Israel. 14También todos los principales sacerdotes, y el pueblo, aumentaron la iniquidad, siguiendo todas las abominaciones de las naciones, y contaminando la casa de Jehová, la cual él había santificado en Jerusalén.

15Y Jehová el Dios de sus padres envió constantemente palabra a ellos por medio de sus mensajeros, porque él tenía misericordia de su pueblo y de su habitación. 16Mas ellos hacían escarnio de los mensajeros de Dios, y menospreciaban sus palabras, burlándose de sus profetas, hasta que subió la ira de Jehová contra su pueblo, y no hubo ya remedio.

Cautividad de Judá

(2 R. 25.8-21; Jer. 39.8-10; 52.12-30)

17Por lo cual trajo contra ellos al rey de los caldeos, que mató a espada a sus jóvenes en la casa de su santuario, sin perdonar joven ni doncella, anciano ni decrépito; todos los entregó en sus manos. 18Asimismo todos los utensilios de la casa de Dios, grandes y chicos, los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros de la casa del rey y de sus príncipes, todo lo llevó a Babilonia. 19Y quemaron la casa de Dios, y rompieron el muro de Jerusalén, y consumieron a fuego todos sus palacios, y destruyeron todos sus objetos deseables. 20Los que escaparon de la espada fueron llevados cautivos a Babilonia, y fueron siervos de él y de sus hijos, hasta que vino el reino de los persas; 21para que se cumpliese la palabra de Jehová por boca de Jeremías, hasta que la tierra hubo gozado de reposo; porque todo el tiempo de su asolamiento reposó, hasta que los setenta años fueron cumplidos.

El decreto de Ciro

(Esd. 1.1-4)

22Mas al primer año de Ciro rey de los persas, para que se cumpliese la palabra de Jehová por boca de Jeremías, Jehová despertó el espíritu de Ciro rey de los persas, el cual hizo pregonar de palabra y también por escrito, por todo su reino, diciendo: 23Así dice Ciro, rey de los persas: Jehová, el Dios de los cielos, me ha dado todos los reinos de la tierra; y él me ha mandado que le edifique casa en Jerusalén, que está en Judá. Quien haya entre vosotros de todo su pueblo, sea Jehová su Dios con él, y suba.

Judah’s Decline

1 The people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah and made him king in his father’s place in Jerusalem. 2Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. 3Then the king of Egypt deposed him in Jerusalem and laid on the land a tribute of a hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold. 4And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. But Neco took Jehoahaz his brother and carried him to Egypt.

5 Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord his God. 6Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and bound him in chains to take him to Babylon. 7Nebuchadnezzar also carried part of the vessels of the house of the Lord to Babylon and put them in his palace in Babylon. 8Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and the abominations that he did, and what was found against him, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah. And Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.

9 Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. 10In the spring of the year King Nebuchadnezzar sent and brought him to Babylon, with the precious vessels of the house of the Lord, and made his brother Zedekiah king over Judah and Jerusalem.

11 Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. 12He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord his God. He did not humble himself before Jeremiah the prophet, who spoke from the mouth of the Lord. 13He also rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God. He stiffened his neck and hardened his heart against turning to the Lord, the God of Israel. 14All the officers of the priests and the people likewise were exceedingly unfaithful, following all the abominations of the nations. And they polluted the house of the Lord that he had made holy in Jerusalem.

15The Lord, the God of their fathers, sent persistently to them by his messengers, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place. 16But they kept mocking the messengers of God, despising his words and scoffing at his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose against his people, until there was no remedy.

Jerusalem Captured and Burned

17 Therefore he brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or aged. He gave them all into his hand. 18And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king and of his princes, all these he brought to Babylon. 19And they burned the house of God and broke down the wall of Jerusalem and burned all its palaces with fire and destroyed all its precious vessels. 20He took into exile in Babylon those who had escaped from the sword, and they became servants to him and to his sons until the establishment of the kingdom of Persia, 21to fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed its Sabbaths. All the days that it lay desolate it kept Sabbath, to fulfill seventy years.

The Proclamation of Cyrus

22 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing: 23“Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, ‘The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever is among you of all his people, may the Lord his God be with him. Let him go up.’”
