제 8 장
수넴 여인이 돌아오다
1 엘리사가 이전에 아들을 다시 살려 준 여인에게 이르되 너는 일어나서 네 가족과 함께 거주할 만한 곳으로 가서 거주하라 여호와께서 기근을 부르셨으니 그대로 이 땅에 칠 년 동안 임하리라 하니
2 여인이 일어나서 하나님의 사람의 말대로 행하여 그의 가족과 함께 가서 블레셋 사람들의 땅에 칠 년을 우거하다가
3 칠 년이 다하매 여인이 블레셋 사람들의 땅에서 돌아와 자기 집과 전토를 위하여 호소하려 하여 왕에게 나아갔더라
4 그 때에 왕이 하나님의 사람의 사환 게하시와 서로 말하며 이르되 너는 엘리사가 행한 모든 큰 일을 내게 설명하라 하니
5 게하시가 곧 엘리사가 죽은 자를 다시 살린 일을 왕에게 이야기할 때에 그 다시 살린 아이의 어머니가 자기 집과 전토를 위하여 왕에게 호소하는지라 게하시가 이르되 내 주 왕이여 이는 그 여인이요 저는 그의 아들이니 곧 엘리사가 다시 살린 자니이다 하니라
6 왕이 그 여인에게 물으매 여인이 설명한지라 왕이 그를 위하여 한 관리를 임명하여 이르되 이 여인에게 속한 모든 것과 이 땅에서 떠날 때부터 이제까지 그의 밭의 소출을 다 돌려 주라 하였더라
엘리사와 아람 왕 벤하닷
7 엘리사가 다메섹에 갔을 때에 아람 왕 벤하닷이 병들었더니 왕에게 들리기를 이르되 하나님의 사람이 여기 이르렀나이다 하니
8 왕이 하사엘에게 이르되 너는 손에 예물을 가지고 가서 하나님의 사람을 맞이하고 내가 이 병에서 살아나겠는지 그를 통하여 여호와께 물으라
9 하사엘이 그를 맞이하러 갈새 다메섹의 모든 좋은 물품으로 예물을 삼아 가지고 낙타 사십 마리에 싣고 나아가서 그의 앞에 서서 이르되 당신의 아들 아람 왕 벤하닷이 나를 당신에게 보내 이르되 나의 이 병이 낫겠나이까 하더이다 하니
10 엘리사가 이르되 너는 가서 그에게 말하기를 왕이 반드시 나으리라 하라 그러나 여호와께서 그가 반드시 죽으리라고 내게 알게 하셨느니라 하고
11 하나님의 사람이 그가 부끄러워하기까지 그의 얼굴을 쏘아보다가 우니
12 하사엘이 이르되 내 주여 어찌하여 우시나이까 하는지라 대답하되 네가 이스라엘 자손에게 행할 모든 악을 내가 앎이라 네가 그들의 성에 불을 지르며 장정을 칼로 죽이며 어린 아이를 메치며 아이 밴 부녀를 가르리라 하니
13 하사엘이 이르되 당신의 개 같은 종이 무엇이기에 이런 큰일을 행하오리이까 하더라 엘리사가 대답하되 여호와께서 네가 아람 왕이 될 것을 내게 알게 하셨느니라 하더라
14 그가 엘리사를 떠나가서 그의 주인에게 나아가니 왕이 그에게 묻되 엘리사가 네게 무슨 말을 하더냐 하니 대답하되 그가 내게 이르기를 왕이 반드시 살아나시리이다 하더이다 하더라
15 그 이튿날에 하사엘이 이불을 물에 적시어 왕의 얼굴에 덮으매 왕이 죽은지라 그가 대신하여 왕이 되니라
유다 왕 여호람(대하 21:1-20)
16 이스라엘의 왕 아합의 아들 요람 제오년에 여호사밧이 유다의 왕이었을 때에 유다의 왕 여호사밧의 아들 여호람이 왕이 되니라
17 여호람이 왕이 될 때에 나이가 삼십이 세라 예루살렘에서 팔 년 동안 통치하니라
18 그가 이스라엘 왕들의 길을 가서 아합의 집과 같이 하였으니 이는 아합의 딸이 그의 아내가 되었음이라 그가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였으나
19 여호와께서 그의 종 다윗을 위하여 유다 멸하기를 즐겨하지 아니하셨으니 이는 그와 그의 자손에게 항상 등불을 주겠다고 말씀하셨음이더라
20 여호람 때에 에돔이 유다의 손에서 배반하여 자기 위에 왕을 세운 고로
21 여호람이 모든 병거를 거느리고 사일로 갔더니 밤에 일어나 자기를 에워싼 에돔 사람과 그 병거의 장관들을 치니 이에 백성이 도망하여 각각 그들의 장막들로 돌아갔더라
22 이와 같이 에돔이 유다의 수하에서 배반하였더니 오늘까지 그러하였으며 그 때에 립나도 배반하였더라
23 여호람의 남은 사적과 그가 행한 모든 일은 유다 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐
24 여호람이 그의 조상들과 함께 자매 그의 조상들과 함께 다윗 성에 장사되고 그의 아들 아하시야가 대신하여 왕이 되니라
유다 왕 아하시야(대하 22:1-6)
25 이스라엘의 왕 아합의 아들 요람 제십이년에 유다 왕 여호람의 아들 아하시야가 왕이 되니
26 아하시야가 왕이 될 때에 나이가 이십이 세라 예루살렘에서 일 년을 통치하니라 그의 어머니의 이름은 아달랴라 이스라엘 왕 오므리의 손녀이더라
27 아하시야가 아합의 집 길로 행하여 아합의 집과 같이 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였으니 그는 아합의 집의 사위가 되었음이러라
28 그가 아합의 아들 요람과 함께 길르앗 라못으로 가서 아람 왕 하사엘과 더불어 싸우더니 아람 사람들이 요람에게 부상을 입힌지라
29 요람 왕이 아람 왕 하사엘과 싸울 때에 라마에서 아람 사람에게 당한 부상을 치료하려 하여 이스르엘로 돌아왔더라 유다의 왕 여호람의 아들 아하시야가 아합의 아들 요람을 보기 위하여 내려갔으니 이는 그에게 병이 생겼음이더라

Los bienes de la sunamita devueltos
Habló Eliseo a aquella mujer a cuyo hijo él había hecho vivir, diciendo: Levántate, vete tú y toda tu casa a vivir donde puedas; porque Jehová ha llamado el hambre, la cual vendrá sobre la tierra por siete años.
Entonces la mujer se levantó, e hizo como el varón de Dios le dijo; y se fue ella con su familia, y vivió en tierra de los filisteos siete años.
Y cuando habían pasado los siete años, la mujer volvió de la tierra de los filisteos; después salió para implorar al rey por su casa y por sus tierras.
Y había el rey hablado con Giezi, criado del varón de Dios, diciéndole: Te ruego que me cuentes todas las maravillas que ha hecho Eliseo.
Y mientras él estaba contando al rey cómo había hecho vivir a un muerto, he aquí que la mujer, a cuyo hijo él había hecho vivir, vino para implorar al rey por su casa y por sus tierras. Entonces dijo Giezi: Rey señor mío, esta es la mujer, y este es su hijo, al cual Eliseo hizo vivir.
Y preguntando el rey a la mujer, ella se lo contó. Entonces el rey ordenó a un oficial, al cual dijo: Hazle devolver todas las cosas que eran suyas, y todos los frutos de sus tierras desde el día que dejó el país hasta ahora.
Hazael reina en Siria
Eliseo se fue luego a Damasco; y Ben-adad rey de Siria estaba enfermo, al cual dieron aviso, diciendo: El varón de Dios ha venido aquí.
Y el rey dijo a Hazael: Toma en tu mano un presente, y ve a recibir al varón de Dios, y consulta por él a Jehová, diciendo: ¿Sanaré de esta enfermedad?
Tomó, pues, Hazael en su mano un presente de entre los bienes de Damasco, cuarenta camellos cargados, y fue a su encuentro, y llegando se puso delante de él, y dijo: Tu hijo Ben-adad rey de Siria me ha enviado a ti, diciendo: ¿Sanaré de esta enfermedad?
Y Eliseo le dijo: Ve, dile: Seguramente sanarás. Sin embargo, Jehová me ha mostrado que él morirá ciertamente.
Y el varón de Dios le miró fijamente, y estuvo así hasta hacerlo ruborizarse; luego lloró el varón de Dios.
Entonces le dijo Hazael: ¿Por qué llora mi señor? Y él respondió: Porque sé el mal que harás a los hijos de Israel; a sus fortalezas pegarás fuego, a sus jóvenes matarás a espada, y estrellarás a sus niños, y abrirás el vientre a sus mujeres que estén encintas.
Y Hazael dijo: Pues, ¿qué es tu siervo, este perro, para que haga tan grandes cosas? Y respondió Eliseo: Jehová me ha mostrado que tú serás rey de Siria.
Y Hazael se fue, y vino a su señor, el cual le dijo: ¿Qué te ha dicho Eliseo? Y él respondió: Me dijo que seguramente sanarás.
El día siguiente, tomó un paño y lo metió en agua, y lo puso sobre el rostro de Ben-adad, y murió; y reinó Hazael en su lugar.
Reinado de Joram de Judá
(2 Cr. 21.1-20)
En el quinto año de Joram hijo de Acab, rey de Israel, y siendo Josafat rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Joram hijo de Josafat, rey de Judá.
De treinta y dos años era cuando comenzó a reinar, y ocho años reinó en Jerusalén.
Y anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, como hizo la casa de Acab, porque una hija de Acab fue su mujer; e hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová.
Con todo eso, Jehová no quiso destruir a Judá, por amor a David su siervo, porque había prometido darle lámpara a él y a sus hijos perpetuamente.
En el tiempo de él se rebeló Edom contra el dominio de Judá, y pusieron rey sobre ellos.
Joram, por tanto, pasó a Zair, y todos sus carros con él; y levantándose de noche atacó a los de Edom, los cuales le habían sitiado, y a los capitanes de los carros; y el pueblo huyó a sus tiendas.
No obstante, Edom se libertó del dominio de Judá, hasta hoy. También se rebeló Libna en el mismo tiempo.
Los demás hechos de Joram, y todo lo que hizo, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
Y durmió Joram con sus padres, y fue sepultado con ellos en la ciudad de David; y reinó en lugar suyo Ocozías, su hijo.
Reinado de Ocozías de Judá
(2 Cr. 22.1-6)
En el año doce de Joram hijo de Acab, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Ocozías hijo de Joram, rey de Judá.
De veintidós años era Ocozías cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó un año en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Atalía, hija de Omri rey de Israel.
Anduvo en el camino de la casa de Acab, e hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, como la casa de Acab; porque era yerno de la casa de Acab.
Y fue a la guerra con Joram hijo de Acab a Ramot de Galaad, contra Hazael rey de Siria; y los sirios hirieron a Joram.
Y el rey Joram se volvió a Jezreel para curarse de las heridas que los sirios le hicieron frente a Ramot, cuando peleó contra Hazael rey de Siria. Y descendió Ocozías hijo de Joram rey de Judá, a visitar a Joram hijo de Acab en Jezreel, porque estaba enfermo.

The Shunammite’s Land Restored
Now Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had restored to life, “Arise, and depart with your household, and sojourn wherever you can, for the Lord has called for a famine, and it will come upon the land for seven years.”
So the woman arose and did according to the word of the man of God. She went with her household and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.
And at the end of the seven years, when the woman returned from the land of the Philistines, she went to appeal to the king for her house and her land.
Now the king was talking with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, “Tell me all the great things that Elisha has done.”
And while he was telling the king how Elisha had restored the dead to life, behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life appealed to the king for her house and her land. And Gehazi said, “My lord, O king, here is the woman, and here is her son whom Elisha restored to life.”
And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed an official for her, saying, “Restore all that was hers, together with all the produce of the fields from the day that she left the land until now.”
Hazael Murders Ben-hadad
Now Elisha came to Damascus. Ben-hadad the king of Syria was sick. And when it was told him, “The man of God has come here,”
the king said to Hazael, “Take a present with you and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the Lord through him, saying, ‘Shall I recover from this sickness?’”
So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, all kinds of goods of Damascus, forty camels’ loads. When he came and stood before him, he said, “Your son Ben-hadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, ‘Shall I recover from this sickness?’”
And Elisha said to him, “Go, say to him, ‘You shall certainly recover,’ but the Lord has shown me that he shall certainly die.”
And he fixed his gaze and stared at him, until he was embarrassed. And the man of God wept.
And Hazael said, “Why does my lord weep?” He answered, “Because I know the evil that you will do to the people of Israel. You will set on fire their fortresses, and you will kill their young men with the sword and dash in pieces their little ones and rip open their pregnant women.”
And Hazael said, “What is your servant, who is but a dog, that he should do this great thing?” Elisha answered, “The Lord has shown me that you are to be king over Syria.”
Then he departed from Elisha and came to his master, who said to him, “What did Elisha say to you?” And he answered, “He told me that you would certainly recover.”
But the next day he took the bed cloth and dipped it in water and spread it over his face, till he died. And Hazael became king in his place.
Jehoram Reigns in Judah
In the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, when Jehoshaphat was king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, began to reign.
He was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, for the daughter of Ahab was his wife. And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.
Yet the Lord was not willing to destroy Judah, for the sake of David his servant, since he promised to give a lamp to him and to his sons forever.
In his days Edom revolted from the rule of Judah and set up a king of their own.
Then Joram passed over to Zair with all his chariots and rose by night, and he and his chariot commanders struck the Edomites who had surrounded him, but his army fled home.
So Edom revolted from the rule of Judah to this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.
Now the rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
So Joram slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and Ahaziah his son reigned in his place.
Ahaziah Reigns in Judah
In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Ahaziah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, began to reign.
Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Athaliah; she was a granddaughter of Omri king of Israel.
He also walked in the way of the house of Ahab and did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, as the house of Ahab had done, for he was son-in-law to the house of Ahab.
He went with Joram the son of Ahab to make war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead, and the Syrians wounded Joram.
And King Joram returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds that the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
