제 14 장

여로보암의 아들의 죽음

1 그 때에 여로보암의 아들 아비야가 병든지라

2 여로보암이 자기 아내에게 이르되 청하건대 일어나 변장하여 사람들이 그대가 여로보암의 아내임을 알지 못하게 하고 실로로 가라 거기 선지자 아히야가 있나니 그는 이전에 내가 이 백성의 왕이 될 것을 내게 말한 사람이니라

3 그대의 손에 떡 열 개와 과자와 꿀 한 병을 가지고 그에게로 가라 그가 그대에게 이 아이가 어떻게 될지를 알게 하리라

4 여로보암의 아내가 그대로 하여 일어나 실로로 가서 아히야의 집에 이르니 아히야는 나이가 많아 눈이 어두워 보지 못하더라

5 여호와께서 아히야에게 이르시되 여로보암의 아내가 자기 아들이 병 들었으므로 네게 물으러 오나니 너는 이러이러하게 대답하라 그가 들어올 때에 다른 사람인 체함이니라

6 그가 문으로 들어올 때에 아히야가 그 발소리를 듣고 말하되 여로보암의 아내여 들어오라 네가 어찌하여 다른 사람인 체하느냐 내가 명령을 받아 흉한 일을 네게 전하리니

7 가서 여로보암에게 말하라 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 내가 너를 백성 중에서 들어 내 백성 이스라엘의 주권자가 되게 하고

8 나라를 다윗의 집에서 찢어내어 네게 주었거늘 너는 내 종 다윗이 내 명령을 지켜 전심으로 나를 따르며 나 보기에 정직한 일만 행하였음과 같지 아니하고

9 네 이전 사람들보다도 더 악을 행하고 가서 너를 위하여 다른 신을 만들며 우상을 부어 만들어 나를 노엽게 하고 나를 네 등 뒤에 버렸도다

10 그러므로 내가 여로보암의 집에 재앙을 내려 여로보암에게 속한 사내는 이스라엘 가운데 매인 자나 놓인 자나 다 끊어 버리되 거름 더미를 쓸어 버림 같이 여로보암의 집을 말갛게 쓸어 버릴지라

11 여로보암에게 속한 자가 성읍에서 죽은즉 개가 먹고 들에서 죽은즉 공중의 새가 먹으리니 이는 여호와께서 말씀하셨음이니라 하셨나니

12 너는 일어나 네 집으로 가라 네 발이 성읍에 들어갈 때에 그 아이가 죽을지라

13 온 이스라엘이 그를 위하여 슬퍼하며 장사하려니와 여로보암에게 속한 자는 오직 이 아이만 묘실에 들어가리니 이는 여로보암의 집 가운데에서 그가 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 향하여 선한 뜻을 품었음이니라

14 여호와께서 이스라엘 위에 한 왕을 일으키신즉 그가 그 날에 여로보암의 집을 끊어 버리리라 언제냐 하니 곧 이제라

15 여호와께서 이스라엘을 쳐서 물에서 흔들리는 갈대 같이 되게 하시고 이스라엘을 그의 조상들에게 주신 이 좋은 땅에서 뽑아 그들을 1)강 너머로 흩으시리니 그들이 아세라 상을 만들어 여호와를 진노하게 하였음이니라

16 여호와께서 여로보암의 죄로 말미암아 이스라엘을 버리시리니 이는 그도 범죄하고 이스라엘로 범죄하게 하였음이니라 하니라

17 여로보암의 아내가 일어나 디르사로 돌아가서 집 문지방에 이를 때에 그 아이가 죽은지라

18 온 이스라엘이 그를 장사하고 그를 위하여 슬퍼하니 여호와께서 그의 종 선지자 아히야를 통하여 하신 말씀과 같이 되었더라

여로보암의 죽음

19 여로보암의 그 남은 행적 곧 그가 어떻게 싸웠는지와 어떻게 다스렸는지는 이스라엘 왕 역대지략에 기록되니라

20 여로보암이 왕이 된 지 이십이 년이라 그가 그의 조상들과 함께 자매 그의 아들 나답이 대신하여 왕이 되니라

유다 왕 르호보암(대하 11:5-12:15)

21 솔로몬의 아들 르호보암은 유다 왕이 되었으니 르호보암이 왕위에 오를 때에 나이가 사십일 세라 여호와께서 자기 이름을 두시려고 이스라엘 모든 지파 가운데에서 택하신 성읍 예루살렘에서 십칠 년 동안 다스리니라 그의 어머니의 이름은 나아마요 암몬 사람이더라

22 유다가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하되 그의 조상들이 행한 모든 일보다 뛰어나게 하여 그 범한 죄로 여호와를 노엽게 하였으니

23 이는 그들도 산 위에와 모든 푸른 나무 아래에 산당과 우상과 아세라 상을 세웠음이라

24 그 땅에 또 남색하는 자가 있었고 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 쫓아내신 국민의 모든 가증한 일을 무리가 본받아 행하였더라

25 르호보암 왕 제오년에 애굽의 왕 시삭이 올라와서 예루살렘을 치고

26 여호와의 성전의 보물과 왕궁의 보물을 모두 빼앗고 또 솔로몬이 만든 금 방패를 다 빼앗은지라

27 르호보암 왕이 그 대신 놋으로 방패를 만들어 왕궁 문을 지키는 시위대 대장의 손에 맡기매

28 왕이 여호와의 성전에 들어갈 때마다 시위하는 자가 그 방패를 들고 갔다가 시위소로 도로 가져갔더라

29 르호보암의 남은 사적과 그가 행한 모든 일은 유다 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐

30 르호보암과 여로보암 사이에 항상 전쟁이 있으니라

31 르호보암이 그의 조상들과 함께 자니 그의 조상들과 함께 다윗 성에 장사되니라 그의 어머니의 이름은 나아마요 암몬 사람이더라 그의 아들 아비얌이 대신하여 왕이 되니라

Y dijo Jeroboam a su mujer: Levántate ahora y disfrázate, para que no te conozcan que eres la mujer de Jeroboam, y ve a Silo; porque allá está el profeta Ahías, el que me dijo que yo había de ser rey sobre este pueblo. 3. Y toma en tu mano diez panes, y tortas, y una vasija de miel, y ve a él, para que te declare lo que ha de ser de este niño. 4. Y la mujer de Jeroboam lo hizo así; y se levantó y fue a Silo, y vino a casa de Ahías. Y ya no podía ver Ahías, porque sus ojos se habían oscurecido a causa de su vejez. 5. Mas Jehová había dicho a Ahías: He aquí que la mujer de Jeroboam vendrá a consultarte por su hijo, que está enfermo; así y así le responderás, pues cuando ella viniere, vendrá disfrazada. 6. Cuando Ahías oyó el sonido de sus pies, al entrar ella por la puerta, dijo: Entra, mujer de Jeroboam. ¿Por qué te finges otra? He aquí yo soy enviado a ti con revelación dura. 7. Ve y di a Jeroboam: Así dijo Jehová Dios de Israel: Por cuanto yo te levanté de en medio del pueblo, y te hice príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel, 8. y rompí el reino de la casa de David y te lo entregué a ti; y tú no has sido como David mi siervo, que guardó mis mandamientos y anduvo en pos de mí con todo su corazón, haciendo solamente lo recto delante de mis ojos, 9. sino que hiciste lo malo sobre todos los que han sido antes de ti, pues fuiste y te hiciste dioses ajenos e imágenes de fundición para enojarme, y a mí me echaste tras tus espaldas; 10. por tanto, he aquí que yo traigo mal sobre la casa de Jeroboam, y destruiré de Jeroboam todo varón, así el siervo como el libre en Israel; y barreré la posteridad de la casa de Jeroboam como se barre el estiércol, hasta que sea acabada. 11. El que muera de los de Jeroboam en la ciudad, lo comerán los perros, y el que muera en el campo, lo comerán las aves del cielo; porque Jehová lo ha dicho. 12. Y tú levántate y vete a tu casa; y al poner tu pie en la ciudad, morirá el niño. 13. Y todo Israel lo endechará, y le enterrarán; porque de los de Jeroboam, solo él será sepultado, por cuanto se ha hallado en él alguna cosa buena delante de Jehová Dios de Israel, en la casa de Jeroboam. 14. Y Jehová levantará para sí un rey sobre Israel, el cual destruirá la casa de Jeroboam en este día; y lo hará ahora mismo. 15. Jehová sacudirá a Israel al modo que la caña se agita en las aguas; y él arrancará a Israel de esta buena tierra que había dado a sus padres, y los esparcirá más allá del Éufrates, por cuanto han hecho sus imágenes de Asera, enojando a Jehová. 16. Y él entregará a Israel por los pecados de Jeroboam, el cual pecó, y ha hecho pecar a Israel. 17. Entonces la mujer de Jeroboam se levantó y se marchó, y vino a Tirsa; y entrando ella por el umbral de la casa, el niño murió. 18. Y lo enterraron, y lo endechó todo Israel, conforme a la palabra de Jehová, la cual él había hablado por su siervo el profeta Ahías. 19. De cuarenta y un años era Roboam cuando comenzó a reinar, y diecisiete años reinó en Jerusalén, ciudad que Jehová eligió de todas las tribus de Israel, para poner allí su nombre. Hubo también sodomitas en la tierra, e hicieron conforme a todas las abominaciones de las naciones que Jehová había echado delante de los hijos de Israel. 25. Al quinto año del rey Roboam subió Sisac rey de Egipto contra Jerusalén, 26. y tomó los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros de la casa real, y lo saqueó todo; también se llevó todos los escudos de oro que Salomón había hecho. 27. Y en lugar de ellos hizo el rey Roboam escudos de bronce, y los dio a los capitanes de los de la guardia, quienes custodiaban la puerta de la casa real. 28. And Jeroboam said to his wife, “Arise, and disguise yourself, that it not be known that you are the wife of Jeroboam, and go to Shiloh. Behold, Ahijah the prophet is there, who said of me that I should be king over this people. 3. Take with you ten loaves, some cakes, and a jar of honey, and go to him. He will tell you what shall happen to the child.” 4. Jeroboam’s wife did so. She arose and went to Shiloh and came to the house of Ahijah. Now Ahijah could not see, for his eyes were dim because of his age. 5. And the Lord said to Ahijah, “Behold, the wife of Jeroboam is coming to inquire of you concerning her son, for he is sick. Thus and thus shall you say to her.” When she came, she pretended to be another woman. 6. But when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, he said, “Come in, wife of Jeroboam. Why do you pretend to be another? For I am charged with unbearable news for you. 7. Go, tell Jeroboam, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: “Because I exalted you from among the people and made you leader over my people Israel 8. and tore the kingdom away from the house of David and gave it to you, and yet you have not been like my servant David, who kept my commandments and followed me with all his heart, doing only that which was right in my eyes, 9. but you have done evil above all who were before you and have gone and made for yourself other gods and metal images, provoking me to anger, and have cast me behind your back, 10. therefore behold, I will bring harm upon the house of Jeroboam and will cut off from Jeroboam every male, both bond and free in Israel, and will burn up the house of Jeroboam, as a man burns up dung until it is all gone. 11. Anyone belonging to Jeroboam who dies in the city the dogs shall eat, and anyone who dies in the open country the birds of the heavens shall eat, for the Lord has spoken it.”’ 12. Arise therefore, go to your house. When your feet enter the city, the child shall die. 13. And all Israel shall mourn for him and bury him, for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found something pleasing to the Lord, the God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam. 14. Moreover, the Lord will raise up for himself a king over Israel who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam today. And henceforth, 15. the Lord will strike Israel as a reed is shaken in the water, and root up Israel out of this good land that he gave to their fathers and scatter them beyond the Euphrates, because they have made their Asherim, provoking the Lord to anger. 16. And he will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he sinned and made Israel to sin.” 17. Then Jeroboam’s wife arose and departed and came to Tirzah. And as she came to the threshold of the house, the child died. 18. And all Israel buried him and mourned for him, according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the prophet. The Death of Jeroboam 19. Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel. 20. And the time that Jeroboam reigned was twenty-two years. And he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his place. Rehoboam Reigns in Judah 21. Now Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city that the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. His mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonite. 22. And Judah did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins that they committed, more than all that their fathers had done. 23. For they also built for themselves high places and pillars and Asherim on every high hill and under every green tree, 24. and there were also male cult prostitutes in the land. They did according to all the abominations of the nations that the Lord drove out before the people of Israel. 25. In the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem. 26. He took away the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house. He took away everything. He also took away all the shields of gold that Solomon had made, 27. and King Rehoboam made in their place shields of bronze, and committed them to the hands of the officers of the guard, who kept the door of the king’s house. 28. And as often as the king went into the house of the Lord, the guard carried them and brought them back to the guardroom. 29. Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? 30. And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually. 31. And Rehoboam slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. His mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonite. And Abijam his son reigned in his place.

Y todo Israel lo endechará, y le enterrarán; porque de los de Jeroboam, solo él será sepultado, por cuanto se ha hallado en él alguna cosa buena delante de Jehová Dios de Israel, en la casa de Jeroboam.
Y Jehová levantará para sí un rey sobre Israel, el cual destruirá la casa de Jeroboam en este día; y lo hará ahora mismo.
Jehová sacudirá a Israel al modo que la caña se agita en las aguas; y él arrancará a Israel de esta buena tierra que había dado a sus padres, y los esparcirá más allá del Éufrates, por cuanto han hecho sus imágenes de Asera, enojando a Jehová.
Y él entregará a Israel por los pecados de Jeroboam, el cual pecó, y ha hecho pecar a Israel.
Entonces la mujer de Jeroboam se levantó y se marchó, y vino a Tirsa; y entrando ella por el umbral de la casa, el niño murió.
Y lo enterraron, y lo endechó todo Israel, conforme a la palabra de Jehová, la cual él había hablado por su siervo el profeta Ahías.
Los demás hechos de Jeroboam, las guerras que hizo, y cómo reinó, todo está escrito en el libro de las historias de los reyes de Israel.
El tiempo que reinó Jeroboam fue de veintidós años; y habiendo dormido con sus padres, reinó en su lugar Nadab su hijo.

Reinado de Roboam
(2 Cr. 12.1-16)
Roboam hijo de Salomón reinó en Judá. De cuarenta y un años era Roboam cuando comenzó a reinar, y diecisiete años reinó en Jerusalén, ciudad que Jehová eligió de todas las tribus de Israel, para poner allí su nombre. El nombre de su madre fue Naama, amonita.
Y Judá hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, y le enojaron más que todo lo que sus padres habían hecho en sus pecados que cometieron.
Porque ellos también se edificaron lugares altos, estatuas, e imágenes de Asera, en todo collado alto y debajo de todo árbol frondoso.
Hubo también sodomitas en la tierra, e hicieron conforme a todas las abominaciones de las naciones que Jehová había echado delante de los hijos de Israel.
Al quinto año del rey Roboam subió Sisac rey de Egipto contra Jerusalén,
y tomó los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros de la casa real, y lo saqueó todo; también se llevó todos los escudos de oro que Salomón había hecho.
Y en lugar de ellos hizo el rey Roboam escudos de bronce, y los dio a los capitanes de los de la guardia, quienes custodiaban la puerta de la casa real.
Cuando el rey entraba en la casa de Jehová, los de la guardia los llevaban; y los ponían en la cámara de los de la guardia.
Los demás hechos de Roboam, y todo lo que hizo, ¿no está escrito en las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
Y hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam todos los días.
Y durmió Roboam con sus padres, y fue sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David. El nombre de su madre fue Naama, amonita. Y reinó en su lugar Abiam su hijo.

Prophecy Against Jeroboam

At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick.
And Jeroboam said to his wife, “Arise, and disguise yourself, that it not be known that you are the wife of Jeroboam, and go to Shiloh. Behold, Ahijah the prophet is there, who said of me that I should be king over this people.
Take with you ten loaves, some cakes, and a jar of honey, and go to him. He will tell you what shall happen to the child.”
Jeroboam’s wife did so. She arose and went to Shiloh and came to the house of Ahijah. Now Ahijah could not see, for his eyes were dim because of his age.
And the Lord said to Ahijah, “Behold, the wife of Jeroboam is coming to inquire of you concerning her son, for he is sick. Thus and thus shall you say to her.”
When she came, she pretended to be another woman.
But when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, he said, “Come in, wife of Jeroboam. Why do you pretend to be another? For I am charged with unbearable news for you.
Go, tell Jeroboam, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: “Because I exalted you from among the people and made you leader over my people Israel
and tore the kingdom away from the house of David and gave it to you, and yet you have not been like my servant David, who kept my commandments and followed me with all his heart, doing only that which was right in my eyes,
but you have done evil above all who were before you and have gone and made for yourself other gods and metal images, provoking me to anger, and have cast me behind your back,
therefore behold, I will bring harm upon the house of Jeroboam and will cut off from Jeroboam every male, both bond and free in Israel, and will burn up the house of Jeroboam, as a man burns up dung until it is all gone.
Anyone belonging to Jeroboam who dies in the city the dogs shall eat, and anyone who dies in the open country the birds of the heavens shall eat, for the Lord has spoken it.”’
Arise therefore, go to your house. When your feet enter the city, the child shall die.
And all Israel shall mourn for him and bury him, for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found something pleasing to the Lord, the God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.
Moreover, the Lord will raise up for himself a king over Israel who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam today. And henceforth,
the Lord will strike Israel as a reed is shaken in the water, and root up Israel out of this good land that he gave to their fathers and scatter them beyond the Euphrates, because they have made their Asherim, provoking the Lord to anger.
And he will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he sinned and made Israel to sin.”
Then Jeroboam’s wife arose and departed and came to Tirzah. And as she came to the threshold of the house, the child died.
And all Israel buried him and mourned for him, according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the prophet.

The Death of Jeroboam
Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
And the time that Jeroboam reigned was twenty-two years. And he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his place.

Rehoboam Reigns in Judah
Now Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city that the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. His mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonite.
And Judah did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins that they committed, more than all that their fathers had done.
For they also built for themselves high places and pillars and Asherim on every high hill and under every green tree,
and there were also male cult prostitutes in the land. They did according to all the abominations of the nations that the Lord drove out before the people of Israel.
In the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem.
He took away the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house. He took away everything. He also took away all the shields of gold that Solomon had made,
and King Rehoboam made in their place shields of bronze, and committed them to the hands of the officers of the guard, who kept the door of the king’s house.
And as often as the king went into the house of the Lord, the guard carried them and brought them back to the guardroom.
Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
And Rehoboam slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. His mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonite. And Abijam his son reigned in his place.
