제 6 장

솔로몬이 성전을 건축하다

1 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 나온 지 사백팔십 년이요 솔로몬이 이스라엘 왕이 된 지 사 년 시브월 곧 둘째 달에 솔로몬이 여호와를 위하여 성전 건축하기를 시작하였더라

2 솔로몬 왕이 여호와를 위하여 건축한 성전은 길이가 육십 1)규빗이요 너비가 이십 규빗이요 높이가 삼십 규빗이며

3 성전의 성소 앞 주랑의 길이는 성전의 너비와 같이 이십 규빗이요 그 너비는 성전 앞에서부터 십 규빗이며

4 성전을 위하여 창틀 있는 붙박이 창문을 내고

5 또 성전의 벽 곧 성소와 지성소의 벽에 연접하여 돌아가며 다락들을 건축하되 다락마다 돌아가며 골방들을 만들었으니

6 하층 다락의 너비는 다섯 규빗이요 중층 다락의 너비는 여섯 규빗이요 셋째 층 다락의 너비는 일곱 규빗이라 성전의 벽 바깥으로 돌아가며 턱을 내어 골방 들보들로 성전의 벽에 박히지 아니하게 하였으며

7 이 성전은 건축할 때에 돌을 그 뜨는 곳에서 다듬고 가져다가 건축하였으므로 건축하는 동안에 성전 속에서는 방망이나 도끼나 모든 철 연장 소리가 들리지 아니하였으며

8 중층 골방의 문은 성전 오른쪽에 있는데 나사 모양 층계로 말미암아 하층에서 중층에 오르고 중층에서 셋째 층에 오르게 하였더라

9 성전의 건축을 마치니라 그 성전은 백향목 서까래와 널판으로 덮었고

10 또 온 성전으로 돌아가며 높이가 다섯 규빗 되는 다락방을 건축하되 백향목 들보로 성전에 연접하게 하였더라

11 여호와의 말씀이 솔로몬에게 임하여 이르시되

12 네가 지금 이 성전을 건축하니 네가 만일 내 법도를 따르며 내 율례를 행하며 내 모든 계명을 지켜 그대로 행하면 내가 네 아버지 다윗에게 한 말을 네게 확실히 이룰 것이요

13 내가 또한 이스라엘 자손 가운데에 거하며 내 백성 이스라엘을 버리지 아니하리라 하셨더라

성전 내부 장식(대하 3:8-14)

14 솔로몬이 성전 건축하기를 마치고

15 백향목 널판으로 성전의 안벽 곧 성전 마루에서 천장까지의 벽에 입히고 또 잣나무 널판으로 성전 마루를 놓고

16 또 성전 뒤쪽에서부터 이십 규빗 되는 곳에 마루에서 천장까지 백향목 널판으로 가로막아 성전의 내소 곧 지성소를 만들었으며

17 내소 앞에 있는 외소 곧 성소의 길이가 사십 규빗이며

18 성전 안에 입힌 백향목에는 박과 핀 꽃을 아로새겼고 모두 백향목이라 돌이 보이지 아니하며

19 여호와의 언약궤를 두기 위하여 성전 안에 내소를 마련하였는데

20 그 내소의 안은 길이가 이십 규빗이요 너비가 이십 규빗이요 높이가 이십 규빗이라 정금으로 입혔고 백향목 제단에도 입혔더라

21 솔로몬이 정금으로 외소 안에 입히고 내소 앞에 금사슬로 건너지르고 내소를 금으로 입히고

22 온 성전을 금으로 입히기를 마치고 내소에 속한 제단의 전부를 금으로 입혔더라

23 내소 안에 감람나무로 두 그룹을 만들었는데 그 높이가 각각 십 규빗이라

24 한 그룹의 이쪽 날개도 다섯 규빗이요 저쪽 날개도 다섯 규빗이니 이쪽 날개 끝으로부터 저쪽 날개 끝까지 십 규빗이며

25 다른 그룹도 십 규빗이니 그 두 그룹은 같은 크기와 같은 모양이요

26 이 그룹의 높이가 십 규빗이요 저 그룹도 같았더라

27 솔로몬이 내소 가운데에 그룹을 두었으니 그룹들의 날개가 퍼져 있는데 이쪽 그룹의 날개는 이쪽 벽에 닿았고 저쪽 그룹의 날개는 저쪽 벽에 닿았으며 두 날개는 성전의 중앙에서 서로 닿았더라

28 그가 금으로 그룹을 입혔더라

29 내 외소 사방 벽에는 모두 그룹들과 종려와 핀 꽃 형상을 아로새겼고

30 내외 성전 마루에는 금으로 입혔으며

31 내소에 들어가는 곳에는 감람나무로 문을 만들었는데 그 문인방과 문설주는 벽의 오분의 일이요

32 감람나무로 만든 그 두 문짝에 그룹과 종려와 핀 꽃을 아로새기고 금으로 입히되 곧 그룹들과 종려에 금으로 입혔더라

33 또 외소의 문을 위하여 감람나무로 문설주를 만들었으니 곧 벽의 사분의 일이며

34 그 두 문짝은 잣나무라 이쪽 문짝도 두 짝으로 접게 되었고 저쪽 문짝도 두 짝으로 접게 되었으며

35 그 문짝에 그룹들과 종려와 핀 꽃을 아로새기고 금으로 입히되 그 새긴 데에 맞게 하였고

36 또 다듬은 돌 세 켜와 백향목 두꺼운 판자 한 켜로 둘러 안뜰을 만들었더라

37 넷째 해 시브월에 여호와의 성전 기초를 쌓았고

38 열한째 해 불월 곧 여덟째 달에 그 설계와 식양대로 성전 건축이 다 끝났으니 솔로몬이 칠 년 동안 성전을 건축하였더라

En el año cuatrocientos ochenta después que los hijos de Israel salieron de Egipto, el cuarto año del principio del reino de Salomón sobre Israel, en el mes de Zif, que es el mes segundo, comenzó él a edificar la casa de Jehová. 2. La casa que el rey Salomón edificó a Jehová tenía sesenta codos de largo y veinte de ancho, y treinta codos de alto. 3. Y el pórtico delante del templo de la casa tenía veinte codos de largo a lo ancho de la casa, y el ancho delante de la casa era de diez codos. 4. E hizo a la casa ventanas anchas por dentro y estrechas por fuera. 5. Edificó también junto al muro de la casa aposentos alrededor, contra las paredes de la casa alrededor del templo y del lugar santísimo; e hizo cámaras laterales alrededor. 6. El aposento de abajo era de cinco codos de ancho, el de en medio de seis codos de ancho, y el tercero de siete codos de ancho; porque por fuera había hecho disminuciones a la casa alrededor, para no empotrar las vigas en las paredes de la casa. 7. Y cuando se edificó la casa, la fabricaron de piedras que traían ya acabadas, de tal manera que cuando la edificaban, ni martillos ni hachas se oyeron en la casa, ni ningún otro instrumento de hierro. 8. La puerta del aposento de en medio estaba al lado derecho de la casa; y se subía por una escalera de caracol al de en medio, y del aposento de en medio al tercero. 9. Labró, pues, la casa, y la terminó; y la cubrió con artesonados de cedro. 10. Edificó asimismo el aposento alrededor de toda la casa, de altura de cinco codos, el cual se apoyaba en la casa con maderas de cedro. 11. Y vino palabra de Jehová a Salomón, diciendo: 12. Con relación a esta casa que tú edificas, si anduvieres en mis estatutos e hicieres mis decretos, y guardares todos mis mandamientos andando en ellos, yo cumpliré contigo mi palabra que hablé a David tu padre; 13. y habitaré en ella en medio de los hijos de Israel, y no dejaré a mi pueblo Israel. 14. Así, pues, Salomón labró la casa y la terminó. 15. Y cubrió las paredes de la casa con tablas de cedro, revistiéndola de madera por dentro, desde el suelo de la casa hasta las vigas de la techumbre; cubrió también el pavimento con madera de ciprés. 16. Asimismo hizo al final de la casa un edificio de veinte codos, de tablas de cedro desde el suelo hasta lo más alto; así hizo en la casa un aposento que es el lugar santísimo. 17. La casa, esto es, el templo de adelante, tenía cuarenta codos. 18. Y la casa estaba cubierta de cedro por dentro, y tenía entalladuras de calabazas silvestres y de botones de flores. Todo era cedro; ninguna piedra se veía. 19. Y adornó el lugar santísimo por dentro en medio de la casa, para poner allí el arca del pacto de Jehová. 20. El lugar santísimo estaba en la parte de adentro, el cual tenía veinte codos de largo, veinte de ancho, y veinte de altura; y lo cubrió de oro purísimo; asimismo cubrió de oro el altar de cedro. 21. De manera que Salomón cubrió de oro puro la casa por dentro, y cerró la entrada del santuario con cadenas de oro, y lo cubrió de oro. 22. Cubrió, pues, de oro toda la casa de arriba abajo, y asimismo cubrió de oro todo el altar que estaba frente al lugar santísimo. 23. Hizo también en el lugar santísimo dos querubines de madera de olivo, cada uno de diez codos de altura. 24. Una ala del querubín tenía cinco codos, y la otra ala del querubín otros cinco codos; así que había diez codos desde la punta de una ala hasta la punta de la otra. 25. Asimismo el otro querubín tenía diez codos; porque ambos querubines eran de un mismo tamaño y de una misma hechura. 26. La altura del uno era de diez codos, y asimismo la del otro. 27. Puso estos querubines dentro de la casa en el lugar santísimo, los cuales extendían sus alas, de modo que el ala de uno tocaba una pared, y el ala del otro tocaba la otra pared, y las otras dos alas se tocaban la una a la otra en medio de la casa. 28. Y cubrió de oro los querubines. 29. Y esculpió todas las paredes de la casa alrededor de diversas figuras, de querubines, de palmeras y de botones de flores, por dentro y por fuera. 30. Y cubrió de oro el piso de la casa, por dentro y por fuera. 31. A la entrada del santuario hizo puertas de madera de olivo; y el umbral y los postes eran de cinco esquinas. 32. Las dos puertas eran de madera de olivo; y talló en ellas figuras de querubines, de palmeras y de botones de flores, y las cubrió de oro; cubrió también de oro los querubines y las palmeras. 33. Igualmente hizo a la puerta del templo postes cuadrados de madera de olivo. 34. Pero las dos puertas eran de madera de ciprés; y las dos hojas de una puerta giraban, y las otras dos hojas de la otra puerta también giraban. 35. Y talló en ellas querubines y palmeras y botones de flores, y las cubrió de oro ajustado a las talladuras. 36. Y edificó el atrio interior de tres hileras de piedras labradas, y de una hilera de vigas de cedro. 37. En el cuarto año, en el mes de Zif, se echaron los cimientos de la casa de Jehová. 38. Y en el undécimo año, en el mes de Bul, que es el mes octavo, fue acabada la casa con todas sus dependencias, y con todo lo necesario. La edificó, pues, en siete años. 1 #Kings 6 Solomon Builds the Temple 1. In the four hundred and eightieth year after the people of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the house of the Lord. 2. The house that King Solomon built for the Lord was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high. 3. The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits long, equal to the width of the house, and ten cubits deep in front of the house. 4. And he made for the house windows with recessed frames. 5. He also built a structure against the wall of the house, running around the walls of the house, both the nave and the inner sanctuary. And he made side chambers all around. 6. The lowest story was five cubits broad, the middle one was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad. For around the outside of the house he made offsets on the wall in order that the supporting beams should not be inserted into the walls of the house. 7. When the house was built, it was with stone prepared at the quarry, so that neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was being built. 8. The entrance for the lowest story was on the south side of the house, and one went up by stairs to the middle story, and from the middle story to the third. 9. So he built the house and finished it, and he made the ceiling of the house of beams and planks of cedar. 10. He built the structure against the whole house, five cubits high, and it was joined to the house with timbers of cedar. 11. Now the word of the Lord came to Solomon, 12. “Concerning this house that you are building, if you will walk in my statutes and obey my rules and keep all my commandments and walk in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father. 13. And I will dwell among the children of Israel and will not forsake my people Israel.” 14. So Solomon built the house and finished it. 15. He lined the walls of the house on the inside with boards of cedar. From the floor of the house to the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood, and he covered the floor of the house with boards of cypress. 16. He built twenty cubits of the rear of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the walls, and he built this within as an inner sanctuary, as the Most Holy Place. 17. The house, that is, the nave in front of the inner sanctuary, was forty cubits long. 18. The cedar within the house was carved in the form of gourds and open flowers. All was cedar; no stone was seen. 19. The inner sanctuary he prepared in the innermost part of the house, to set there the ark of the covenant of the Lord. 20. The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high, and he overlaid it with pure gold. He also overlaid an altar of cedar. 21. And Solomon overlaid the inside of the house with pure gold, and he drew chains of gold across, in front of the inner sanctuary, and overlaid it with gold. 22. And he overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. Also the whole altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary he overlaid with gold. 23. In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olivewood, each ten cubits high. 24. Five cubits was the length of one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the length of the other wing of the cherub; it was ten cubits from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other. 25. The other cherub also measured ten cubits; both cherubim had the same measure and the same form. 26. The height of one cherub was ten cubits, and so was that of the other cherub. 27. He put the cherubim in the innermost part of the house. And the wings of the cherubim were spread out so that a wing of one touched the one wall, and a wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; their other wings touched each other in the middle of the house. 28. And he overlaid the cherubim with gold. 29. Around all the walls of the house he carved engraved figures of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, in the inner and outer rooms. 30. The floor of the house he overlaid with gold in the inner and outer rooms. 31. For the entrance to the inner sanctuary he made doors of olivewood; the lintel and the doorposts were five-sided. 32. He covered the two doors of olivewood with carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers. He overlaid them with gold and spread gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees. 33. So also he made for the entrance to the nave doorposts of olivewood, in the form of a square, 34. and two doors of cypress wood. The two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding. 35. On them he carved cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, and he overlaid them with gold evenly applied on the carved work. 36. He built the inner court with three courses of cut stone and one course of cedar beams. 37. In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid, in the month of Ziv. 38. And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished in all its parts, and according to all its specifications. He was seven years in building it.

Cubrió, pues, de oro toda la casa de arriba abajo, y asimismo cubrió de oro todo el altar que estaba frente al lugar santísimo.
Hizo también en el lugar santísimo dos querubines de madera de olivo, cada uno de diez codos de altura.
Una ala del querubín tenía cinco codos, y la otra ala del querubín otros cinco codos; así que había diez codos desde la punta de una ala hasta la punta de la otra.
Asimismo el otro querubín tenía diez codos; porque ambos querubines eran de un mismo tamaño y de una misma hechura.
La altura del uno era de diez codos, y asimismo la del otro.
Puso estos querubines dentro de la casa en el lugar santísimo, los cuales extendían sus alas, de modo que el ala de uno tocaba una pared, y el ala del otro tocaba la otra pared, y las otras dos alas se tocaban la una a la otra en medio de la casa.
Y cubrió de oro los querubines.
Y esculpió todas las paredes de la casa alrededor de diversas figuras, de querubines, de palmeras y de botones de flores, por dentro y por fuera.
Y cubrió de oro el piso de la casa, por dentro y por fuera.
A la entrada del santuario hizo puertas de madera de olivo; y el umbral y los postes eran de cinco esquinas.
Las dos puertas eran de madera de olivo; y talló en ellas figuras de querubines, de palmeras y de botones de flores, y las cubrió de oro; cubrió también de oro los querubines y las palmeras.
Igualmente hizo a la puerta del templo postes cuadrados de madera de olivo.
Pero las dos puertas eran de madera de ciprés; y las dos hojas de una puerta giraban, y las otras dos hojas de la otra puerta también giraban.
Y talló en ellas querubines y palmeras y botones de flores, y las cubrió de oro ajustado a las talladuras.
Y edificó el atrio interior de tres hileras de piedras labradas, y de una hilera de vigas de cedro.
En el cuarto año, en el mes de Zif, se echaron los cimientos de la casa de Jehová.
Y en el undécimo año, en el mes de Bul, que es el mes octavo, fue acabada la casa con todas sus dependencias, y con todo lo necesario. La edificó, pues, en siete años.

Solomon Builds the Temple

In the four hundred and eightieth year after the people of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the house of the Lord.
The house that King Solomon built for the Lord was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high.
The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits long, equal to the width of the house, and ten cubits deep in front of the house.
And he made for the house windows with recessed frames.
He also built a structure against the wall of the house, running around the walls of the house, both the nave and the inner sanctuary. And he made side chambers all around.
The lowest story was five cubits broad, the middle one was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad. For around the outside of the house he made offsets on the wall in order that the supporting beams should not be inserted into the walls of the house.
When the house was built, it was with stone prepared at the quarry, so that neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was being built.
The entrance for the lowest story was on the south side of the house, and one went up by stairs to the middle story, and from the middle story to the third.
So he built the house and finished it, and he made the ceiling of the house of beams and planks of cedar.
He built the structure against the whole house, five cubits high, and it was joined to the house with timbers of cedar.
Now the word of the Lord came to Solomon,
“Concerning this house that you are building, if you will walk in my statutes and obey my rules and keep all my commandments and walk in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father.
And I will dwell among the children of Israel and will not forsake my people Israel.”
So Solomon built the house and finished it.
He lined the walls of the house on the inside with boards of cedar. From the floor of the house to the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood, and he covered the floor of the house with boards of cypress.
He built twenty cubits of the rear of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the walls, and he built this within as an inner sanctuary, as the Most Holy Place.
The house, that is, the nave in front of the inner sanctuary, was forty cubits long.
The cedar within the house was carved in the form of gourds and open flowers. All was cedar; no stone was seen.
The inner sanctuary he prepared in the innermost part of the house, to set there the ark of the covenant of the Lord.
The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high, and he overlaid it with pure gold. He also overlaid an altar of cedar.
And Solomon overlaid the inside of the house with pure gold, and he drew chains of gold across, in front of the inner sanctuary, and overlaid it with gold.
And he overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. Also the whole altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary he overlaid with gold.
In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olivewood, each ten cubits high.
Five cubits was the length of one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the length of the other wing of the cherub; it was ten cubits from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other.
The other cherub also measured ten cubits; both cherubim had the same measure and the same form.
The height of one cherub was ten cubits, and so was that of the other cherub.
He put the cherubim in the innermost part of the house. And the wings of the cherubim were spread out so that a wing of one touched the one wall, and a wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; their other wings touched each other in the middle of the house.
And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.
Around all the walls of the house he carved engraved figures of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, in the inner and outer rooms.
The floor of the house he overlaid with gold in the inner and outer rooms.
For the entrance to the inner sanctuary he made doors of olivewood; the lintel and the doorposts were five-sided.
He covered the two doors of olivewood with carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers. He overlaid them with gold and spread gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees.
So also he made for the entrance to the nave doorposts of olivewood, in the form of a square,
and two doors of cypress wood. The two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.
On them he carved cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, and he overlaid them with gold evenly applied on the carved work.
He built the inner court with three courses of cut stone and one course of cedar beams.
In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid, in the month of Ziv.
And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished in all its parts, and according to all its specifications. He was seven years in building it.
